Escape to a tranquil retreat at this 4-bedroom cottage in Mears. With 1 king bed, 3 queen beds, and 3 bunk beds, this welcoming space is perfect for families or groups. Cozy up in the living room with 2 futons for extra sleeping space. Enjoy modern amenities like WiFi, heating, a washing machine, and AC. Relax in the 2 spacious bathrooms available. Enjoy all that Mears has to offer when you stay at our place located just off of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes and Lake Michigan. Cottage will comfortably sleep up to 17 people with King master, 2 queen rooms and the 4th bedroom has a large twin over queen and 2 large twin bunk beds and if that's not enough there are 2 very comfortable queen futons in the loft area. only a couple minutes to walk to Lake Michigan beach and the dunes.

This house is in a great location and worked for our family get-together. The beach is an easy 10 minute (not more) walk away down a quiet dirt road and we were happy to have a walkway rather than steps down to the beach. The beach was lovely - nice sand and great for children. We appreciated the laundry and air conditioning.

Our host was excellent and we really enjoyed his property. Because the yard is sand, there was a lot of that but the house had plenty of towels and a great washer/dryer. Camp chairs for around the fire were provided, which was a nice bonus and the gas grill was great for meals. Thanks for a great week!

This is an Awesome property and a great place to stay..within walking distance to Lake Michigan and its all sand. Very nice beach also. The owner contacted us while we were there asking if everything was all right with the property. and asked if everything was working as it should...A BIG Thanks to Rick our host for everything.

The cabin was perfect! It was beautiful and clean. It was private but a very short drive to the dunes and to restaurants. The short walk to beautiful beach access was wonderful! Our family loved grilling out and having bonfires together. Our 2 young boys are already begging to go back.

The home was very nice. WiFi was great. Very secluded and peaceful. Plenty of parking for our two full sized trucks and 30’ car hauler for our sand toys. Highly recommend staying here!

We had a great stay with family and enjoyed being in this home and appreciated the desirable location. The front windows had a lovely view of the trees and wildlife (deer, turkey, rabbits.) The kitchen, dining, and great room areas were nice for meals and hanging out together, the bedrooms were spacious, the bathrooms were roomy, and the walks on the beach were great. It was fun seeing people riding the dunes in the park area from the beach. The walk to the beach was nice and down a private drive with very low traffic. A new grill was available, but we didn’t get a chance to use it. We hope to come again in the future.

The house was perfect for our annual family getaway. It was a short 10 minute walk to the beach (dunes). It was spacious and fit everyone’s needs. We highly recommend and would stay again.

Great Place

We had an amazing stay at this newly built home near Lake Michigan in Silver Lake! The house was spotless, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip. The location was perfect—just minutes from the beach and local attractions. Our host was friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a great spot!

The property was quite new and spacious...more than enough room for the 6 of us. The beds were comfortable, we all slept quite well. Since the home is built right next to the Silver Lake Dunes, it is hard to keep sand out...the prior occupants apparently hadn't swept the floor. Communication with Rick was great...timely responses to my questions. The beach was a bit of a walk, but no matter because we preferred the Golden Twp beach on Lake Michigan...a great family beach with a stream running through it.

Nice, big house

There was plenty of space, nice walk to the private beach. It was mostly clean overall. There could’ve been a few more kitchen appliances such as a blender, pots, pans, and the the ice/water maker from the fridge didn’t work. The fridge was leaking water from the bottom too.The hot water for showers wasn’t enough for our party of 13. It’s advertised for 18 people. It would’ve been nice to have a grill to cook the fish we caught. We went out and bought a small charcoal grill.The beds were comfortable. The loft was nice with plenty of space and beds.Overall

Thanks for the review. It's true that there was no blender or grill but there are pots and pans to the left of the oven. It's also true that there isn't an on demand water heater there so it's not an endless supply of hot water but there is a 50 gallon with one of the fastest recovery rates available installed. Will consider putting a grill on site as many have asked about a grill but was hesitant on the maintenance since I live out of state. I will be talking to the cleaning service i have to see if they will maintain it regularly if I put one there. I'd hate a guest to come to a grill that was nasty due to the previous guest.

Nice spot! Beautiful new build with lots of space fur a large group (we had 12). This house is located in a secluded neighborhood right on Lake Michigan. A few things of note: 1. If you’re bringing a big group, you may wish to bring extra kitchen equipment like pots and pans. There is no grill, we did all our cooking in the kitchen.2. Beach access is roughly a 1/3 mile walk from the property and vehicles are not allowed to park at the access. If you’re bringing lots of stuff to the beach such as canopies and heavy coolers, you will want to drive your stuff to the beach access, drop it off, and then return the vehicle to the property and walk back.3. There are no window blinds/shades so when the sun comes up, you’ll know it immediately. If you want to sleep in, suggest bringing an eye mask.All in all, a very nice place that’s well worth the charge. Check out instructions are provided in a book in the living room so expectations are clear. A/C works great. Lots of camping chairs available to lounge around the yard/ deck with. Ample parking for 5-6 vehicles.

My 1st impression was that this was a 'work in progress'.. there were construction materials around the building and site, even rusty nails in the yard. The 'fire pit' was a few charred embers in the sand. The closets didn't have rods installed, the beds did not have mattress covers ( one mattress was grossly stained), there were not enough bath towels for the 8 adults, no kitchen towels at all. The gas grill did not have gas. Even touted as a beach location, no beach towels and a stipulation that the bath towels could not be taken from the house. There was one bath mat for two bathrooms!.. The wifi was not strong enough for numerous people to be accessing it at the same time. The dryer is vented to the inside..I have no idea what that would do to the heat and humidity! This place, which says it can sleep 18, has an apartment sized dishwasher! The checkout instructions say that the housecleaner doesn't do kitchens so guests are required to wash all dishes, put them away, wipe down counters, refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven. When contacted about the gas for the grill and the beach towels, Rick said the reason there were none was that guests take them..Anyway, the place needs some attention to detail and a new cleaning service for starters. Also know that the 'short walk' to the beach access is a hike and you cannot park in proximity; you have to carry your beach goods..

Plenty of room for our family. Easy walk to the beach! Kitchen was well equipped, which worked out great since we cooked all our meals on site. My little grandkids loved the sandy yard to plan in. Very peaceful setting. The weather was perfect and did not want to run A/C, we opened the windows that did not have nests in the sills:-) We also make a make shift fire ring with broken concrete we found by the road to keep the little ones away from the fire while roasting marshmallows. Excellent location!!
