This home is walking distance to the historic downtown area. Built in the 1840s this home has all the charm of the past with all the convenience of modern day. Comfortably sleeps 4. This is our getaway home in a very quiet neighborhood. Photos do not do it justice. WiFi is available along with 3 smart TVs. With all there is to see and do I doubt you will be watching TV.
The space
This is a beautiful miners home that has been restored. Escape all hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Great location and house for a small group. Easy walking distance to downtown, with a dedicated parking spot. Host was very helpful and we had no issues at all. Would highly recommend.

This cute home was perfect for our family. Close to the downtown area. The backyard is beautiful and enjoyed the 3-season porch. There were accents that made it a warm and welcoming space.

This place is an adorable historical home. It had everything in it that I needed. Very clean and taken care of. The host wast very good at responding to a couple questions I had and the check in went smoothly. I loved how close it was to downtown. I would stay here again.

It’s a lovely old home. Felt like staying in someone’s home. Well maintained. My only comment is the stairs are steep and NO handrails going down to the lower floor. Seems dangerous.

Linda thank you for your review and acknowledging how lovely our home is. The stairs leading down to the lower level does have a handrail for accessibility. Leading down it is on the left hand side. On the right side is a wall and ledge. Both are accessible to help with navigating stairs.

The pictures do not do this beautiful justice. Every room tastefully decorated with decor that fits the era this home was built 1800's wow! Nicely stocked kitchen filled with cute antique kitchen decor new appliances ect.Beds comfortable, 3 cosey stilling areas, beautiful backyard the deer like it to. Highly recommend it!

We think it's a pretty cool old hose too! As a brick miner's cottage built in 1840 we are one of the few standalone historic homes that are available for a short stay in Galena.

This a well maintained older property with appropriately updated amenities where possible. For our purposes—two over-sixty five, lifelong friends—this old miner’s home was perfect. It was clean throughout and located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance from downtown Galena. We enjoyed walking into town, including walking back up “the hill”. The two bedrooms were charming. Lots of comfortable reading and lounging space. The kitchen has minimal counter space but everything you need is there, and once you develop a system it functions well. The host is detail oriented, so the welcome notebook was full of the answers to many questions. We found this home to be precisely as advertised, with a host who made it easy. We will be back.

It was a cute house for a couples getaway without kids. Super close to downtown, which was great. Only thing the stairs in the house are very steep so just have to be careful. Other than that great house for 4 people!

This home is my second home and is filled with family heirlooms, antiques and many amenities. This home is in a residential neighborhood where you are the only guests. Live like the locals do here in historic Galena. This home has been beautifully resored with original floors on the main level. It is a very peaceful stay but really close to all the fun downtown main street offers.

Enjoy the gardens and outdoor space while you toast marshmallows by the fire, dine under the stars or read a book on a rainy day from the comfort of the three-season room while listening to the fountain. This home is relaxation at its best. Enjoy this very unique property that I am lucky enough to call our second home.
