The location was absolutely lovely. With one exception, the amenities were high quality - a kind of boutique hotel glamping site.

This place was a wonderful hideaway! Loved the off the grid set up. Landscaping is absolutely beautiful and much more mature than the listing shows. Communication was great and host was quick to reply. Thanks for having us!

Really cool glamp camp. Very private. Wonderful for a couple. We felt like kids playing as if we were castaways on a deserted island, but we had modern amenities like a toilet with a bidet, a warm shower, and electricity. Unfortunately we did not go the first 2 nights we booked due to hurricane Nolo threatening to come, it was very windy and rainy, but when it passed, we were so happy to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space and the tranquility and privacy the exotic garden provided. The outdoor kitchen is very minimal. Did have a mini fridge toaster and coffee maker, 1 pan, gas grill, utensils plates etc for 2, there was not a can opener fyi. Rustic but doable. Bedroom shack was comfy. If you want privacy, this place is awesome and it's beautiful. We had a great time.

Amazing stay

Property was amazing, fire pit and outdoor hot showers was awesome. Could use a towel rack. I would love to stay here again.

Private secluded property; rustic but had all we needed. The bed was so comfortable, had two nights of great rest. Short drive to the park entrance and several options for dining. Stop at the general store in Volcano Village for sandwiches for your day in the park-easily one of the tastiest sandwiches we’ve ever had. Great stay, will be back!

I recently spent five nights here (mid July) while solo hiking Volcanoes National Park (30 minutes away) and exploring the Hilo area. I would totally stay here again by myself or with my significant other.This was a beautiful and fun compliment to spending all day outside - being screened in and protected from the rain, but otherwise immersed in outdoor Hawaii. The garden is beautiful, and the property felt very private and safe to me. The outdoor shower was nice and hot - perfect after a long day of hiking.I would recommend you bring sandals (the kitchen and bathroom floors are hard on bare feet) and a pair of ear plugs just in case the coqui frogs get too loud (that only happened to me one night).All in all, I think this place is a gem for anyone that considers themselves outdoorsy.

Little off grid oasis

This place was an absolute gem. Katherine was amazing. It is everything you need to relax, unwind, and just hear the sounds of nature in your own little private hideaway. I would definitely recommend a stay here (:

Immersive rain forest experience with the coqui frogs lullaby at night. Very raw and fun! The host was very responsive in terms of communication. Will come back again!

Excellent Stay at Unique Property

My partner and I loved this very unique property. The outdoor shower, and being totally surrounded by nature, listening to the coqui frogs at night, and enjoying a fire in the evening. Would definitely recommend for a tranquil setting!

Incredibly beautiful secluded fairytale garden. You felt like you were in another world. A great experience. I didn’t want to leave. Also close to Volcano National Park and Hilo.

We had such an amazing stay here! My partner and I were in Hawaii celebrating my 40th birthday and this leg of the trip was my favorite. The pictures of this property on the listing do not do it justice. I was blown away by the gorgeous garden that you can tell has been cared for in a major way. If you want to stay in a place where you can be a part of an incredible rain forest environment while still having a nice comfy bed to land in at the end of your day, this is the spot 10/10

Garden setting was lush and gorgeous! The bedroom is a screen house and kitchen living area is open air! (Even the shower!). We were a little surprised, especially since it was pouring rain, but we were snug in the bed and dry under the cover. A little like "Swiss Family Robinson"!

Gorgeous garden property

We had a lovely stay! The garden is perfectly serene and secluded. Everything was clean. The outdoor shower is AMAZING. The check-in process was extremely easy, though we did have to reach out to the host to confirm the process. We would have loved sheets on the bed in addition to the blankets. All in all, an absolutely wonderful stay.

We had to buy a kitchen sponge, paper towels, cleaning wipes, and jugs of washing and drinking water. The catchment water reservoir was uncovered and not clean. Also, there were no sheets on the bed. Not recommended for inexperienced campers.

Beyond Amazing

I can’t even tell you how wonderful this VRBO is. If I could give it 10 stars I would. The place is gorgeous, peaceful, relaxing, and very zen. It is 100% worth every penny and more. This place is my future goal in my own yard. The hosts are fantastic the property is beyond fantastic the area is fantastic I will stay here again no hesitation!

Please note that you are booking for a unique glamping experience. Things you should know: - Front gate to the property is open 24/7 - Really nicely designed front yard/path, nothing you’ve ever seen before (I think?) - Bedroom does not have window panes, just netting; entry door has a key - Bathroom is outdoor, fully covered - Dining area is right beside the outdoor shower, fully covered - Propane BBQ is the only source of heat cooking - Surrounding feels like a rainforest, with creatures you would expect such as colourful frogs (lots), geckos, bugs of assorted sizes and types, mosquitoes - It rained both nights we were here, so frogs were loud and mosquitoes were semi-active - Water filter is provided, though consider bringing your own Overall, it was an interesting experience. I don’t regret staying here, but I wish I was better informed. This isn’t for everyone, especially if you don’t like bugs.

Breathtaking!!

After a day at Volcano National Park-we had the privilege of staying in this amazing garden oasis! We easily found the property (during the daylight) and settled in. Left for dinner at Dimple Cheek and returned at dusk. The garden became even more beautiful! You can see the love and care the owners have poured into this garden! The nighttime sounds and solar string lights made this unique experience even better! If you’re looking for something different and above the ordinary- we highly recommend you choose this location!! We hope to return!

Lovely outdoor-ish stay

We arrived to this lovely property in the afternoon. The host was very prompt with communication replies. The property itself was great. Lovely weather - it rained at night, but the covered walkway from the bedroom to the bathroom and kitchen kept us dry. The hot water outdoor shower was very nice. We used the coffee machine to make coffee. The internet was fast and usable for remote work. There is a little fridge we used to cool drinks. The queen size bed was very comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend staying here. We would definitely visit again. Thanks!

Not Enough Superlatives to Describe this!

My son wanted a place deep in nature as close to the volcano as possible - for a whole month. Boy am I glad I found this place! It was wonderful. Clean. The forest is magical. Animals are welcome. The host Katherine is wonderful. She was available at all times. She is above and beyond helpful and nice. She really cares. She was excellent answering many, many questions before the stay. The experience was far better than words and pictures can do.

This place is so cool! It's a step up from glamping, as the bedroom is fully enclosed, while the rest of the lodging is open air with shade structures and partial walls for privacy where needed. We loved it and would absolutely stay again if we're back on the island.

A lot of love and care has gone into creating this secret garden paradise. It was beautiful during the day but it is at night that the magic happens. Solar lights come on and the forest comes alive with frog chorus -It took relaxation to the next level.
