Welcome to Stillwater Beach House, situated on beautiful Frolander Bay in the Stillwater area south of Powell River, B.C. We are on the waterfront, nestled amongst towering evergreen trees with incredible views of Malaspina Strait and Texada Island. Whatever the weather, the setting is truly magnificent at all times of the year!

This cozy getaway is a self-catering beach house with the ocean just a few meters away. It's an ideal location where you can relax and enjoy the many outdoor activities this beautiful area has to offer. It's a wonderful place to enjoy time with family and/or friends!

Very clean and quiet with a beautiful view of the ocean. Access may be difficult for those with mobility issues as the the stairs are steep to the property.

Loved this cabin by the ocean! Perfect for a much needed getaway. It was so quiet and peaceful with only the sound of the waves and the occasional sea lion.The hosts were wonderful, even helping us unload our car on arrival. There are stairs down to the cabin which could be a problem for those with mobility issues.We would highly recommend this little bit of heaven and hope to visit it again in the future!

We were right on the beach, with a good 180 degree view of the water and beach. John and Christine where great hosts making sure we had what we needed.

You couldn’t ask for better hosts than Jock and Christine. They went the extra mile for us when our car battery died and we needed a boost. They were friendly, kind and helpful but not intrusive. The beach house was perfect and everything we hoped for. I brought my kayak and enjoyed launching it from the beach that was right in front of the cottage. Sitting on the deck watching the seals and the sunsets and listening to the sea lions was a treat. The kitchen was well stocked and I was so happy to make lattes with their state of the art espresso maker. I enjoyed being able to look at the trees and ocean while soaking in the deep tub. It is quiet and private but close enough to Powell River if you want some action. There are plenty of good hiking spots nearby as well.

Very welcoming host, shared lots of local tips. We were even shown a local baker’s little stand where we bought some amazing baked goods, a cherry on top of the weekend! The view of course was breathtaking, lots of seals to watch and listen to, felt like we were IN the water, we were that close. Even though the hosts were in the main house, the separate beach house felt like it was on an entirely different property, very private!

We loved our stay here! Would have liked to stay longer than our 4 nights Private, cozy and you couldn’t be any closer to the ocean without floating in it. Thank Christine & Jock for the opportunity to experience the ocean life.

We had a lovely stay. Peaceful surroundings, gracious hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the sea lions passing by for a visit and their chatterings. Looking forward to coming back.

Delightful place to stay.

The best, host set the fire each night, carried our luggage, answered any questions we had. It was very clean and the setting was the best. We were entrained by sea lions, seals, otters and loons

Coziest Beach Cabin

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin. The views were stunning and the cabin was so beautifully decorated and made for such a relaxing experience. The hosts were fantastic and very helpful. The area is very private and beautiful with a peaceful setting. Absolutely loved our stay here.

Beautiful property with lovely hosts

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was very well equipped, tastefully decorated and provided a breathtaking view! Our hosts were absolutely great and a pleasure to deal with. If you are looking for a cozy, private retreat with all the comforts of home and scenery that can't be matched I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing time!

Everything about our stay was excellent: swimming in the ocean, relaxing at the cottage, watching the seals and sunsets. It is a magical place. The hosts were lovely and very helpful. We've already booked our next stay.

Lovely place!

Christine & Jock were wonderful hosts - we really appreciated the easy check-in and we were on our own quickly. The cottage is so cute, clean, well-equipped and private. The view is amazing from the cottage, deck or lower guest area. We were looking for a quiet stay to unwind and that is just what we got!

A Treasure by the Sea

If you love the sound of waves, the gentle roaring of sea lions, amazing hikes within easy driving distance and a wonderful couple of hosts,then this beautifully laid out cottage by the sea is for you!! I know we are looking forward to making this an annual holiday for us..it was wonderful.

oceanside paradise retreat

Windows in every direction, sunset and stormy weather views, luxurious details, magnificent cedar trees over a sweet garden, sea birds visiting in the morning, a northwest paradise.

New Years Stay

We stayed here for 5 nights over the new year. Saw humpbacks, sea lions, seals and otters from the deck. A beautiful location about 20 minutes from Powell River. Plenty of hiking trails nearby.

Gracious hosts, a quiet location in a charming cottage with nice walks close by made for a truly enjoyable stay. Sunny or stormy weather , it is a great location! Every need was anticipated and provided for with a well furnished kitchen, comfortable beds, deep soaker tub, wood stove prepped and ready for the match and an outside barbecue and fire pit to roast the hot dogs. The closeness to the water and the views were magical . The cottage decor and layout were well thought out and made for a relaxing stay. Thank you! We will be back.

Beautiful and serene

Absolutely stunning location, cottage very well-outfitted, easy driving distance to Powell River and great walking and hiking. Lots of cormorants, mergansers, bald eagles, loons and grebes, not to mention harbor seals and barking sea lions. Hosts were awesome. We hope to come back!

A piece of Heaven

Great relaxing stay, a little piece of heaven right on the ocean , loved that it was dog friendly . Would recommend this for a family or just an adult's get-a-way. Great location off the main Hwy close to the Sunshine Coast trail . John and Christine were excellent hosts ! See you next year !

We purchased the above property with an old cabin on the beach as a getaway from the pressures of city life in Vancouver. This quiet rural area known as 'Stillwater' twenty kilometers, south of Powell River became our family's place of tranquility and restoration. When we both retired in 2001 we moved from Vancouver to commence building our retirement home. A few years later we decided to renovate the 'old cabin' and recently completed our new 'Beach House' which we now offer for your enjoyment.
