Great House

Our family of 4 had a really good stay at the house. It was well furnished, clean and very inviting. The owners were very thoughtful with the amenities they offered and the location of the house was great. Close to Lake Lemon, close to Bloomington, close to hiking trails...yet secluded and quiet for a perfect getaway. The pet friendly option was definitely a plus.

Just what we needed

This was the perfect getaway for our family. It felt like a whimsical treehouse. The teenagers played darts. We all sat by a campfire and roasted marshmallows. My son with down syndrome service dog ran around the property and was in heaven. It was a special weekend. I’d love to upload a family video, but don’t know how. My only criticism is at the coffee situation wasn’t ideal. My husband and I can’t live without a cuppa coffee in the morning and the Nespresso pour over options weren’t great. If is important to you, I would bring your Keurig.

Solar eclipse trip

I highly recommend visiting Brown County, Indiana. This cabin was nestled in the trees with a private lake and game house where rambunctious children could play corn holes and darts. It was quiet except for the birds, which were lovely. The house is cozy, and the surrounding natural land allows children to explore freely. We traveled many hours to arrive at the after-hours check-in. It would have been nice to be able to check in early as we were tired from the drive, but we waited, with everyone else, for the check-in person to come at 4 pm. It was a bit of a mad house, with everyone wanting to check in all at once. But the hassle was worth it. Once we were settled in, we had a lovely family vacation. Bring your own salt and pepper as they don't keep the kitchen well stocked with basic necessities if you want to cook.

Secluded cozy cabin

We were pleasantly surprised how secluded the cabin was! A quick 15 min drive to main Nashville area, come prepared with all you need so you don’t have to leave. We were annoyed we had to drive 30 min out of our way just to check in even though we had keyless entry, they could have easily emailed to texted the code. 30 min with kids who have been in a car already for 2+ hours is not convenient. But as soon as we drove up the long gravel road up to the property we were blown away by the beautiful setting along the small private pond. They even had some Snacks, hot cocoa and tea for us to enjoy upon arrival which was very appreciated. The cabin was more spacious than the photos showed and very clean and comfy inside. They even provided dishes and shampoo conditioner and body wash in the very nice and updated shower. However the grounds were a bit unkept, lots of leaves and debris, dust and cobwebs along entryways, on outdoor furniture. Some furniture was unusable and missing cushions and could probably just be thrown out. A quick wipe down would go a long way. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and would love to return again!
