Beautiful 4ac setting on Historic Allendale, bordered by Mississippi River Levee

The House is on 4 acres of a 1200 acre family estate, Historic Allendale Circa 1852. Relax on the Patio under the big shade trees. Beautiful Setting close to Baton Rouge 15 minutes but secluded, can walk to the levee and Mississippi River and can fish in Levee Ponds. Can take walks on property and also ride bikes on the Rural Secluded roads. This is a great place to relax and spend time in a relaxing place to re charge away from big citys and close to New Orleans 1 hour. You cant go wrong you will love it.

stay away

took 4 phone calls and an hour and a half after check in time to finally get in house. air conditioner not turned on and it took all nite to cool the first floor down. the upstairs never did cool down for the 3 days we stayed. the upstairs was infested with bugs. there were no tvs and no wifi in the house. i highly recommend staying somewhere else

House could use some updates

Nice house but floor in the kitchen needs to be replace. Really bad in front of the refrigerator. Almost unsafe to walk on or even have the refrigerator there. The refrigerator needs to be looked at doesn’t keep drinks or food very cold. Freezer works great. Bring games or other things to past the time as there are no TVs in the house.

Very large Rustic house needs improvements

House was old rustic with nothing to do. No tv which wasn’t bad but no games, outdoor activities or anything. GPS didn’t get us to the correct road and then there were 3 houses on the property and didn’t know which one to go to. Refrigerator was at 60 deg, Big bathtub in master didn’t work, water either very hot or very cold in very small showers with leaks. Lots of space for 10-12 people. Plenty of kitchen appliances and dishes! Owners came by every day checking on things but very nice. Overall was a decent stay!

Rats & Bugs

We left the property early due to rats and bugs infestation. The homeowner promised a partial refund. We were very coOL about it and moved to a hotel for the rest of our stay. He afterwards went radio silent and is not the man of character he claimed to be. I waited over 2 months and reached out more than 7 times. Sad state of affairs.

Started out rocky. Ended good.

The house size was great- we enjoyed the location. House has a few issues that if fixed would make the space awesome. We had 10 people staying here with plenty of room for everyone. House has a few issues like leaking shower and wonky kitchen floor that were a tiny bit concerning. Host was very nice. House could use a few more things for guests to use such as kitchen pots and pans. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

This is going to be long...Safety- Not a single person felt safe. House is very dimly lit. The interior of the house was musty and smelled of possible mold (none was observed), causing a couple of people to have some breathing issues and forced them back outside.Dilapidated- broken floor tiles. The host actually pointed some of them out, and seemed to think it added to the "charm" of the house. That is not charm, that is dangerous. No Central AC, as advertised. AC consisted of several noisy window units and several portable AC units in each bedroom. Owner acknowledged that not all of them were working properly. In fact the 2 "bedrooms" upstairs were at least 20 degrees warmer than downstairs. One of this AC units was blowing warm air. None of the window units were sealed properly, and a couple had gaps that were open to the outside. They were not livable. The host suggested the 4 people that were supposed to sleep in the upstairs bedrooms instead sleep on the couches and recliners downstairs. The general state of this house is not only outdated, which is livable, but unsafe. Uneven floors, soft spots in the floor. One of my party tripped and almost fell on a broken floor tile. When asked about the advertised hot tub and whirlpool/spa (advertised separately), the owner laughed at the hot tub question and said "There's no hot tub". The whirlpool/spa was a worn out tub in the master bath that looked as if it was ready to fall apart (we did not test). The ho
