Allison was very easy to get ahold of. Cabin was clean. Did think it was a little pricey for the spacing. But other than that everything was great!

Adorable cabin that is both rustic and chic. It had all we needed and more. Very secluded and serene. The hammock and fishing ponds were heavenly and the hot tub was clean and comfortable. The hiking trails at Ferne Clyffe State park were amazing and unique, and the Blue Sky Winery was worth a stop. The Giant City Lodge was rustic and historic, great dining experience. Overall a relaxing stay in Southern Illinois

Everything was just as hoped, and we had a wonderful stay at the White Oak cabin. Communication was fantastic, the cabin was clean and included everything we needed for comfort and to prepare meals. The hot tub was in perfect working order, the views were lovely and we were able to visit Giant City, Ferne Clyffe, Little Grand Canyon, Garden of the Gods and Rim Rock across 2.5 days. We would not hesitate to return!

Amazing stay!!

Everything about the property was excellent! Quiet, peaceful and centrally located to what we had planned. The kayaks were a hit with my teens and the adults were able to enjoy a few wineries.

We used the cabin as a base for exploring parks and wineries, as well as bikingng the Tunnel Hill bike trail. The cabin provided sufficient amenities both indoor and outdoor to make our time enjoyable. The property was well very quiet and relaxing. Great for star gazing. Highly recommended.

Restful and quiet

This was a great place to stay! The setting is perfect for a quiet getaway to enjoy the country and nature. I took advantage of the kayaks on the small lake, bird watched from the deck, napped in the hammocks, and went hiking nearby. It was an absolutely lovely and restful vacation.

Fantastic

We had a great stay. Plenty of outdoor opportunities to do even over a rainy weekend. Hiking, biking, running, trials, wineries, fun food places all within a short distance and a cozy place to wrap the days up at.

Birthday Getaway

It was a short stay and last minute reservation but wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the surroundings. House has everything you need ! Decorated beaurifully and oh so cozy! If it had a hot tub it would be perfect!

Pleasant country getaway with stunning views.

We wanted to get out of the city for the weekend and this was a great spot for it. Nice views and very remote yet close enough to Carbondale that we didn’t feel like it was a big distance to hang out in town and pick up some grocery items. Had a great time kayaking on the on-site pond. Also very close to many nature trails including a 5-minute drive to Panther Den trailhead. Overall, I would definitely come back.

This property is the perfect hidden gem! It was great to get a way to peace & quiet in this beautifully decorated cabin. You can lounge around the ponds and fish or take a short drive to local trails and restaurants. Thanks so much for the hospitality!

Alil Southern comfort

Super cozy , nice senary for the nature lovers. Jas practically everything you meed. Must do at keast once. The picturesque windows were my favorites ro see the blood moon cycle. Love love love.

Modern cabin, beautiful location

We had a great stay at the White Oak Cabin! The amenities were all up to date and the cabin was gorgeous! Our host Allison was quick to answer all of our questions. We are a family of four and also brought along our two dogs. They had provided a dog dish, placemat, and towel. Although it isn't a huge cabin, we were all perfectly comfortable. Having two older kids, we brought along an air mattress which wasn't needed because the cabin had one stowed under a bed, which we weren't expecting. It was a nice surprise! We had also brought along a bag of charcoal for the grill, but a partial bag was already there along with some lighter fluid. We used that and paid it forward by leaving ours there for the next people to use. We enjoyed the hammock and spent a lot of time out on the deck. The property is gorgeous! The only complaint we would have is that it would be nice if there was a mowed walkway all around the pond, not just the path to walk down to it. We have already recommended Southern Illinois Vacation Rentals to several friends and family. Thanks for a great stay!
