About Us:
Grouse Haven Cabin was built in 2003-2004 by the current owners. The cabin was named Grouse Haven because while we were building we could hear the Grouse birds in the area “drumming”. The cabin is secluded in a red pine forest with lots of Mother Nature in its surroundings. There are trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. There is also a picnic area located at the lower end of the 90-acre property that you can get to by hiking trails. The cabin is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with close proximity to Penn Yan, Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, 2-3 miles to Keuka Lake State Park, the Finger Lakes wineries, micro breweries, Keuka college, and more.

We had a great stay in this cozy cabin. The host, Phyllis couldn’t be more accommodating and responsive. She went out of her way to make our holiday enjoyable. The location is peaceful and quiet, but close to several wineries and other attractions in these spectacular Finger Lakes.

Great peaceful secluded cabin. Close to wineries/breweries. Very well supplied with everything we needed. Very dog friendly with room to roam and trails to take. Would love to stay again.

The cabin is located within a beautifully secluded area, with the entrance drive providing an exciting anticipation of what lay ahead.The cabin is immaculate-clean and welcoming.Everything one would want/need had been provided.The living area is expansive-plenty of room throughout. The recliners needless to say were wonderful.We were impressed by ALL that we encountered, and encourage anyone to enjoy the woodsy retreat as much as we did!

We loved our stay at the cabin! It was remote and private but also only 20 minutes from downtown Penn Yan restaurants and grocery stores. We brought our dogs who loved all the new smells in the yard. The humans appreciated all the peace and quiet. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed.

A great place to relax and just enjoy nature. But also close enough to many other activities. The perfect cabin in just the perfect setting. Our stay was not only relaxing but also a great spot for our pup. She throughly enjoyed not only the relaxing deck but also the many places to walk. Phyllis made it so easy to check in and was a most gracious host.

Grouse Haven was the perfect spot for a family get away. We brought along our two dogs, and they enjoyed the freedom to explore and run without having to be on lead. The cabin was everything it said it would be. Complimentary syrup and a bottle of wine were a nice touch. There is so much to do, from wineries to hiking to time on the lake. We would certainly consider going back.
