Drop your keys on Boddington the Butler's tray (!), and head to the deck to unwind in comfort while you enjoy the view of pretty South Harbor Marina, ( managed by Safe Harbor, you may contact them for information on slip rental, and help with trailer storage).

The beaches of Oak Island are just a short drive over the ICW. (3.2 miles to Oak Island Pier). Par 3 Golf is available less than a mile away, and Oak Island Golf is just 3 miles, by Caswell Beach.

There are many area restaurants, but the condo is located next door to the very highly rated restaurant, Joseph's Italian Bistro. Rusty Hooks Dockside Grill is a 2 minute stroll, with sunset views from their expanded deck and Tiki Bar.
A 6 mile drive takes you to historic downtown Southport, where you can amble through the many Boutiques & Antique Shops, Southport Market, Bakeries, Craft Beer and Wine Bars. Visit the Maritime Museum, or lounge in a swing chair on the lawn while watching the Cape Fear River boat traffic. Take a sunset cruise...highly recommended, and maybe a Ghost Tour in Southport!
If you are a thrill seeker, you might be tempted to try a skydive experience, which is available 5 minutes away. Rental options for boats, bikes and kayaks are also nearby.
The condo is conveniently located between Oak Island and Southport, tucked away from hustle and bustle.

Last week, we stayed at this wonderful vacation home that felt welcoming and beautifully cared for from the moment we arrived. It was clean, and comfortable, with cozy touches that made it easy to relax right away. Everything felt convenient and well set up for enjoying meals and downtime. Overall, the stay was truly enjoyable, and we happily recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable, relaxing getaway.

Wow, this is a beautiful property! The host Gemma is wonderful, always responds quickly, and is so helpful and kind! Parking is so easy and the Italian Restaurant next door is amazing. The marina is such a quiet, peaceful, gorgeous place to relax. You cannot go wrong with this property!

110% recommend this beautiful condo. The home was lovely and had everything we needed and more. The view was such a bonus! The location was great. We were close to the beach, a grocery store was 5 mins away, and the best Italian restaurant was steps away. The host was outstanding. When I had a question she responded very quickly and was most helpful. We can’t wait to come back!

It was absolutely beautiful and beyond perfect! The host was extraordinary. She wrote a nice note and listed multiple numbers if we needed any help or assistance. She was extremely nice! She made a welcome gift box and it was super thoughtful. I highly recommend this place. Very beautiful inside and out, very clean, overlooks the marina, and just overall a great place and great experience. Would definitely book again!

This place is so beautiful! Sitting on the porch each morning was the most peaceful start to the day. The Italian restaurant next door shares the deck (separated by a lattice fence) so it was a little noisy in the evenings but nothing obnoxious as they are only open for dinner. Gemma was a great host and it’s evident that she takes good care of her property. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to stay in the Southport area.

3rd visit to “Gemma’s Gem” and always a treat. Close to everything and 10 steps to one of the best Italian “joints” (sorry, originally from N.J.) in Southport and Oak Island. Ask for Marquis, if you can get him at Joseph’s. Then close your eyes when he comes to your table, and you will swear Denzel Washington is your server. Marquis is the very best as is Gemma as your host at her beautiful condo.

Wonderful, Private Place

Cleanest VRBO we have ever rented. We loved the location right on the marina and so close to Oak Island and Southport. Kitchen was well appointed and the host was super proactive and professional. We will definitely stay there again.

Oak island trip
