Very quaint, lovely cabin/cottage. Very homey and nicely decorated. Owners supply everything but the food. Great location to drive a little and hike. Host incredibly accommodating.

Very sketchy at first with the amount of back road to get there but overall a beautiful home and stay!

Everything was perfect! The cottage was cozy, welcoming, and exactly as pictured. Host was also extremely helpful, responsive, and friendly.

Incredible stay

The property was pristine, the owners thought of everything you might need. It was extremely peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and plan on being back soon.

Lay Lake Cottage is pure relaxation

From the two fire pits to the fishing dock, the cottage was a very relaxing stay. The hosts were great to work with and communicated well. We would be happy to stay here again.

It was a great stay. I came up to put head stones on my fathers and brothers graves. The cottage took the edge off my feelings i felt really close to my wife, thank you.

One night stay

My daughter and I stayed at this adorable cottage for my sister’s birthday party in Sylacauga. The owners were easy to reach and eager to accommodate. The property was clean, easy to find, and on a very peaceful part of Lay Lake. We enjoyed our visit and recommend this rental property.

Great cabin for the $$$

Cabin was very nice and had everything we needed. Very close to Pursell Farms for Dinner or lunch as well as golf or sporting clays Probably think of the cabin as a one bedroom with loft for 2 kids as well as a couch on main level. Overall very good

A wonderful getaway!

We enjoyed our stay so much, the cottage is gorgeous! We kayaked, did a little fishing, roasted marshmallows over the fire, roasted hot dogs, and enjoyed some tv. I was able to cook a big dinner and we had everything we needed! My 4yr old enjoyed the coloring books. Everything was wonderful!

Quietness away from the city.

It was so quiet and serene and very beautiful. Went out on the porch at night to smoke and I look up in the tree and there sits a baby possum just staring at me it was just so cute.

Beautiful home

We enjoyed our stay!! It’s definitely off the beaten path but it was so quiet and beautiful!! The home is lovely. My fiancé really enjoyed the kayaks and being able to fish a little. We grilled steaks and had the best little get away!! Our host left the sweetest lil valentines gifts for our babies!! So kind and sweet!! If you’re looking for some quiet time, a beautiful home and scenery then I highly recommend staying here!!!

This cottage was wonderful. Upon arrival everything was perfect. Dayna checked in with us to assure that we had safely arrived. We travel a week each month year around. The cottage was probably the best so far. Nicely decorated for a rustic feel. The cottage has two large app based TV's, one in a windowed sitting area, and one in the bedroom. My wife enjoyed and utilized the washer and dryer. The kitchen had everything needed and was very well apportioned. It is warm in the south in July. The cottage A/C worked great ! The cottage sits on Lay Lake which is a small off shoot of the pristine Coosa River. We were provided kayaks and paddle boards which we used several times. The cottage sits in a small cottage community. Heavily wooded, the surrounding cottages are hardly noticeable. We met several neighbors who were very nice. We drove a short distance to Lake Howard which has very nice hiking and biking trails and kayaks for use on the 180 acre lake in the Talladega National Forest. The town of Sylacauga had a Publix grocery store and shopping. One day we drove up to Oak Mountain State Park, about an hour away, and spent the day in arguably the best hiking/biking area in the south. Overall a great week. We hope to return during cooler weather for another great week.

The property is very nice and secluded. It was very quiet, and my wife and I were able to enjoy some time away without the kids - even for a couple of days.The home is well equipped, and has a very nice deck. We were able to grill steaks, and enjoy eating together with nothing but the sounds to nature.The owner of the property is very responsive - they answered all of our questions promptly.We enjoyed using the available kayaks to get some exercise, and spend time on the water - we were the only one on the lake.Would recommend.
