Flagstaff Cabin in Forest near Lake Mary. Mountain Views. Pet-Friendly
This off-the-beaten-path cabin is a great place for a wilderness retreat. Located in the Coconino National Forest, the cabin is walking distance to the meadows of Lower Lake Mary and just a few miles drive to the water in Upper Lake Mary. Enjoy forest hikes, horseshoes, board games, and mountain views. With plenty of windows for light, you are never far from nature. Relax in the Adirondack chairs on the front porch while enjoying your favorite beverage or dinner cooked up on the grill. Listen to old records, enjoy the VHS and DVD library, or stream your own channels on the smart TV with high-speed satellite internet.
Two dogs are allowed, subject to a $50 per-pet, per-stay fee when paid with reservation or $75 per pet after arrival. Please contact the hosts in advance if you plan to bring more than one dog or another animal. Note that the cabin is unfenced in the forest. Guests are asked to pick up after their pet in order to deter animals and for the benefit of future guests.
Located only 10 miles from downtown Flagstaff and its shopping and dining. The cabin has high-speed satellite internet. Guests are asked to conserve and be mindful that the cabin is on hauled water and propane. The laundry facilities are for housecleaner use only unless needed in an emergency with advance notice to hosts (water tank levels permitting). No parties and no campfires allowed, regardless of weather and forest conditions.
The last four miles of road to the property are unpaved, so the property may be unavailable when there is heavy snow or mud. If the roads are impassible and the cabin inaccessible, we will let you know as soon as possible and provide a full refund. Please use the driving directions you will receive, as smart phone maps tend to take you onto closed roads.
Please note there is a doorbell camera and back floodlight camera used solely for safety/access purposes and to monitor weather/driveway conditions. They are not otherwise monitored.

The cabin is on forest property owned by our extended family since the early 1970s. We've enjoyed it for many summers to escape the Phoenix heat and in the winter to sled and ski at nearby Arizona Snowbowl (17 mi. to basecamp). Historic downtown Flagstaff (10 mil), Bearizona (38 mi.), Walnut Canyon (21 mi.), Sunset Crater (31 mi.), Lowell Observatory (11 mi.), NAU (8 mi.), and the Grand Canyon (~90 mi.) are some of our favorite attractions.

The cabin backs to the Coconino National Forest and has a spectacular view of Humphrey's Peak, the highest natural point in Arizona. Great hiking is all around, and you may even encounter deer and elk. The nearby Lake Mary General Store (open May-Sept) has food, drinks and ice and even rents fishing boats and sells licenses and bait.
