Keowee Waterfront Lakeside Retreat -Keowee Cottage

Lake Keowee Lake Side Retreat! Keowee Cottage is nestled in a lovely cove on a privately owned 20+ acre property. Explore native, natural beauty in this forested setting featuring nature trails, lake access, a sandy shoreline, a firepit, & great views. Shared use of the lakeside Pavilion is an added bonus. The cottage features open living, dining, & a well-equipped kitchen. Please note there is no boat dock, however, there is trailer parking on-site & several nearby boat ramps. We are dog friendly! Please note we have a 14-day maximum stay and if a stay is 7 days or longer, the owner will perform an inventory and restock assessment on the 8th day which will be arranged with the guest. Also, GPS will get you close but may tell you the property is not on the lake. Bear in mind the property is 20 acres and the driveway winds for 1/2 mile down to the lake. Our reviews happily attest to the location.

Magical sunrises over the lake

Maggie and Mike have created a peaceful sanctuary in nature with all the thoughtful details of a home away from home. It’s the best equipped kitchen I’ve ever stayed in and fresh farm eggs to boot.

A special place to get away!

Keowee Cottage is place for anyone who wants to get away from hustle and bustle of a busy life. The owners go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. They make you feel at home when you walk in the door. The beds were comfortable, kitchenware fully stocked and a basket of extra little things you might have forgotten to bring. The views of the lake can be easily seen from balcony or windows and the outdoor pavilion near the lake was an extra plus! Gas stove in the main room for a little extra ambience.The location was perfect, just far enough from everything. We will definatly be coming back in the spring.Our Lab loved it as well!

Mike and Maggie are the absolute best hosts we have ever rented from. They went above and beyond in their communication and willingness to make everything perfect. Even the dogs loved this pace. We would definitely rent again

Comfy & cozy cottage

We made a quick visit to see our student at Clemson and we’re thrilled to have found this little gem to rent for the weekend. Charming, comfy and so cozy! No detail was left undone and the owners thought of everything to make for the most welcoming stay. Wish our trip wasn’t so short, and we hope to be back before too long to explore the area and enjoy this lovely cottage.

Best lakeside retreat!!

Mike and Maggie have a little slice of heaven on Lake Keowee! They are quick to communicate and did not overlook a single detail in preparing the cabin for our stay. The accommodations were well appointed and everything was very clean. The location of the cabin on the lake is very peaceful, with minimal boat traffic so our children enjoyed swimming and kayaking right off of the beach. We highly recommend this rental and hope to return ourselves!

Taking son to Clemson

I have stayed at many VRBO properties, but this was my absolute favorite. What an amazing time. The house was just like the pictures but with added special touches..smores for the fire pit..ect.... It is more than 5 stars!!!

Phenomenal Property!

This property is so beautiful! I just got home after a weekend at the cottage and I can’t wait to go back. The owners are wonderful and incredibly hospitable! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay but I have to say that my dog may have enjoyed it the most! I highly recommend this property.

The beginning

This property is absolutely amazing. Mike and Maggie were so pleasant and were so responsive to every question we had. We brought our pontoon boat and having the convenience of parking our trailer at high falls boat ramp for a small fee at the beginning of our stay and beaching our boat at the property was so worth it. I named the title as the beginning because we will definitely be booking with Mike and Maggie again for our annual lake trip(s). Thank you so much for a memorable trip for our family before the kids go back to school.

Quiet cove

My husband and I are too pups. Enjoyed the quietness of the cove and the ability to have enough property for the girls to play and sniff around. Mike and Maggie were very kind and accommodating with allowing us to use their kayaks and paddle boards.

Lakeside retreat

This lakeside cottage is a beautiful peaceful spot to get away. The house is well furnished and supplied and we loved that they welcomed our two dogs. The location is amazing with so many great hiking trails and waterfalls in easy driving distance. Or just sit on the deck and enjoy the view. We are looking forward to coming back!

A true gem on Lake Keowee!

We loved the long, private driveway down to the house. It is painted to blend in with the woods and not compete with the surrounding, natural beauty. Once inside, it’s open and smells so clean. The house was immaculate and the view from the porch was the perfect place to wake up with coffee or wind down with a cocktail. The beds were comfortable and the owners thought of all the details to make you feel right at home. We have stayed in many homes over the years and this home was the most thoughtfully stocked and the cleanest. Mike and Maggie are also prompt communicators and we were lucky enough to meet Mike in person. He is so kind. If you are visiting this area, you will not be disappointed in this gem in Lake Keowee.

Great Jet Ski get away

The location is perfect. Just minutes to a boat ramp to launch in Lake Keowee or 30 mins to launch in Lake Jocassee. 20 mins to Seneca which is just a perfect mix of causal dining or fine dining. The cabin was just perfect. We had no worries about parking our boat trailer access in and out was great. We really enjoyed the porch area that overlooked the lake. Or the pavilion was a perfect area to sit relax and enjoy the nature. Mike and Maggie were the perfect host. We will return to the area and will book the cabin again.
