Spend sunny days swimming in the clear, shallow water—perfect for kids and pups—or exploring the Chain-of-Lakes with the provided kayaks, canoe, and paddleboat. You can rent a boat or bring your own. Cast a line right from the 90-foot dock, nap in one of two lakeside hammocks, or challenge the family to cornhole and ladder toss. Evenings bring campfire stories and s’mores under the stars; firewood, roasting sticks, and s’mores kits are included.

Room for Everyone
The Dragonfly Cottage comfortably sleeps up to twelve guests across five bedrooms and a cozy loft. On the main floor, you’ll find a lake-view king bedroom and two charming rooms with full beds—ideal for kids or couples. Upstairs offers another king bedroom and a spacious room with two queen beds, perfect for grandparents or cousins. The “camp loft” includes a daybed with trundle for younger guests who want their own hideaway. Two full bathrooms (one newly renovated) are stocked with soft towels, shampoo, conditioner, and other essentials.

Family & Pet Friendly
We’ve thought of all the little things to make family travel easy: a Pack ’n Play, outlet covers, children’s books, toys, and sand toys are ready for use. Four-legged guests get the VIP treatment too—with two crates, a dog bed, bowls (including slow-feeder), leash, tie-out cable, toys, and waste bags. Your pup can splash safely in the shallow water right off the beach.

Built in 1964 and renovated for year-round comfort, The Dragonfly retains its rustic soul while offering every modern amenity. Exposed wood beams, warm floors, and nostalgic touches like a Star Wars pinball machine and record player create a fun, inviting atmosphere. The living area features a plush sectional, electric fireplace, and 55″ Smart TV with streaming. Efficient mini-split units provide both air conditioning and heat throughout the home. The handcrafted dining table seats twelve for family meals or late-night board games overlooking the lake.

The spacious kitchen combines retro cottage charm with fresh updates—new counters, fixtures, and full-size appliances. Cook for a crowd with a complete selection of cookware, bakeware, and utensils. The coffee and tea bar includes a drip brewer, locally roasted coffee, teas, syrups, creamers, and pantry staples. Know Before You Go
This is a peaceful, family-friendly retreat—no parties or events, and quiet hours run from 10 PM–7 AM. The primary renter must be 25+. For everyone’s safety, exterior cameras monitor entry points. The cottage uses well water that’s perfectly clean and safe, though guests unfamiliar with well systems may notice a natural mineral taste. Many bring bottled water for drinking as a personal preference. Because you’re right on the lake, please supervise children and pets near the water—there’s no lifeguard on duty.

Vintage Notes
The Dragonfly was built in 1964 and has been lovingly maintained through the decades. As the third owners, we’ve preserved its vintage charm—so you might hear a squeaky stair or find a sticky door on humid days. It’s part of the cottage’s story and authenticity, a place where laughter echoes through generations.

The Dragonfly Cottage sits right on Intermediate Lake in the village of Central Lake, just minutes from downtown for ice cream, playgrounds, and grocery stops. Ten minutes south, the town of Bellaire offers boutique shops, cozy cafés, and the iconic Short’s Brewing Company.

Love local flavors? Sample cider, mead, wine, and spirits at nearby favorites like Bee Well, Cellar 1914, Torch Lake Cellars, and Mammoth Distilling—all just a short drive away. Along the way, stop at farm stands for orchard pies, maple syrup, and homemade ice cream.

Please note: no parties are allowed at the property. This is a lakefront property and there is no life guard on duty. All guests acknowledge they will be swimming, boating, and enjoying the lake at their own risk when booking. Lastly, we have quiet hours between 10pm and 7am - it’s very important this is followed, so our neighbors continue to be supportive of The Dragonfly!


Security cameras are installed on the front and back doors. The light on the front of the house is on a timer, for convenience.
