The Pondhouse is perfect for travelers seeking to combine vacation with a space in which to create, find solace, seek connection with nature and/or significant other….
This region of Vermont has long been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy skiing & riding, biking, hiking, breweries, culture, fishing and paddling. Smugglers' Notch Ski Resort is ~ 3 miles away with alpine and Nordic skiing. and loads of summer fun. Nearby, Stowe, offers a plethora of offerings (please note: Stowe is ~ 15 minutes away in the summer and is one hour away in winter months due to the closure of Rte 108). Jay Peak is 50 minutes away. This area is popular with painters, writers, photographers and to the art community at large. Equally a favorite for foodies and craft beer lovers. If you enjoy locally grown and the slow food movement, this is a place to explore. Discover the best of the country's best craft beer and savor locally grown food.

We lucked out finding the Pondhouse. Our host Ellen was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. Location is excellent. Plenty of privacy yet short ride to restaurants, shopping, hiking, etc. the Pondhouse is very comfortable within a great setting. We plan on coming back

We loved being at the Pondhouse. It is comfortable, clean, and quiet. the original artwork in the apartment is beautiful. It is a peaceful space to relax in, and it is also close to everything we wanted to do (bike, bike, explore). Ellen made us feel right at home, and we enjoyed chatting with her a little. 100% A pick this one - it is really special!

This property is a gem! It was such a quiet, beautiful place with so much to offer! We loved having a cup of coffee in the morning sitting by the pond, hearing nothing but the breeze in the trees and the birdsong and walking around looking at all the beautiful plants and shrubs before we headed out for a hike. Great location for hiking around the mountains in the Smugglers Notch area and beyond.The pondhouse is comfortable and spacious with a lovely view of the pond! We loved it there and would love to return.Ellen was a friendly host and we enjoyed our “chats”. Thank you Ellen for a memorable special week!

Charming, cozy, clean and with a full kitchen. Peaceful rural setting with views of the mountains. Close to Smuggs. Perfect for a couple or single. Pet-friendly which is important to me because I try to bring my dog with me on my travels whenever possible.

This place was quiet and special. The Pondhouse had just about everything you would have at home. Clean, cozy and awesome views. Less than 10 min drive to Smuggers Notch. Ellen the host was sweet, accommodating and communicated quickly to my questions. I definitely would stay again. .

Great stay!

Ellen was great and our stay at the cottage was very pleasant. It had everything we needed and was very cozy and comfortable. The WiFi was occasionally slow at random, but overall no problems at all.

As an advid biker, skier, kayaker and all-around general outdoor enthusiast, I'd be honored to share the magic of the region.
