Tiny House / Log Cabin in beautiful wooded urban setting

What started out as a project to make use of leftover logs from our log home turned into a tiny house! Cozy Log Cabin looking out on almost an acre of nature but just minutes from all the DC sites. Perfect for a single escape, a romantic getaway, a small family/group gathering, or a serene remote work location. 1/4 mile to bus and 1.5 miles to DC metro, plenty of free parking. We live in a log home next door - so happy to provide advice on sites/restaurants and directions. NO SMOKING of any kind.Renters will be assessed the cost of deep cleaning and repairs to property damage caused by smoking or vaping, and NO (pets, and parties allowed)-Only registered guests will stay.

The property is on .91 acres of land full of trees, creeks, deer, an occasional fox, and lots of birds - yet just 15 minute drive to DC and close to all the amenities, shopping, restaurants, movies, mini-golf, and of course the Nation's Capital!

Check-in: pull into the gravel driveway to the right of the main log home; door will be open; keys on the dining table. Please send us a note when you check in and when you check out. Also, if you are going to use the pull-out sofa, please select extra person - this will cover the extra cleaning cost. Thank you!

The idea of staying in a tiny house in the woods seemed like the perfect retreat, and my stay surpassed even my high expectations. The house was so well thought out and comfortable, and the beautiful woodsy setting was lovely. Tommy and Cheryl couldn’t have been nicer, and the setting was private and inviting. I was hoping for a quiet spot where I could relax and write, and it was ideal for that. My 10 and 7 year old grandchildren came over for sleepovers, and they were very comfortable on the couch and loveseat without even opening the sofa bed. They loved it so much, they wanted me to move in! This was my first time staying in a VRBO for two weeks, and I’m hoping this cabin will be available for a repeat visit. Thank you for a great vacation!

It was a lot of fun! We had the best of both worlds - being near restaurants, shopping etc but also being put in the woods! The cabin was clean, had what we needed and was an experience! Thank you!

A great rustic private place in the city! It looks fairly new. We had plenty of hot water for three of us! Fridge, a/c work well. Very quiet; no traffic noise! Might be a better place for only 2 people. It is difficult to get to the bathroom during sleeping hours from upstairs if the sleeper sofa is out. The bed upstairs is nice but the sleeper sofa is noisy and not really flat. Sleeper sofa works fine if you put the mattress on the floor. Great place for 2 people!

We had a great stay. There were 3 adults and we were comfortable for the one night we stayed. The cabin is located in a very quiet, safe area. We didn't have much communication with the host but what I did have was nice. It was a very clean place.

Cosy cabin that really suited our needs. We were in town for two days to visit relatives. It was ideally located for trips into DC and to our favorite restaurants in Falls Church. Easy communication with hosts, and such a beautiful spot. It really is a charming place. I just wish the weather had been better so we could have enjoyed the deck. Will definitely stay there again.

For being in the middle of suburbia, the back porch of this tiny cabin made you feel like you are in the middle of the woods. Very peaceful. Convenient to restaurants and shopping.

I'm originally from Kentucky and I suppose I grew up with Abe - loving log cabins my whole life. My wife Sheryl is from the Philippines and we have three crazy wonderful kids. Our Tiny Log Cabin sits off in the woods, just near a small creek that runs through our property. A deer family and an occasional fox make their home in our place, along with a lovely cardinal couple and a blue jay who likes to keep them company.
