Nature lovers will want to check out the Independence Grove Forest Preserve, which is a sizable natural area with a range of activities available to visitors. Guests can go on hikes, fish, cross-country ski, swim, bike, boat, and ice skate during the winter.

Nearby Adler Park is a sizable, picturesque park with access to the Des Plaines River and a lot of pathways. Along with a playground and community pool, it features a 9-hole disc golf course.

Art and culture lovers will want to visit the Improv Playhouse or Adler Arts Center to see cultural art exhibits and programs up close.
