We’re especially glad to hear that you enjoyed the layout, the space, the amenities, and the Lodge’s ability to accommodate a large group. It means a lot to us that you found the Lodge and resort to be such a wonderful place for a group getaway. We’re sorry that you encountered some frustrations during your stay. As we discussed with you directly, the trash issue occurred because the previous guests had inadvertently secured the garage with an additional lock, which prevented the trash service from accessing the cans for their normal pickup. We certainly understand how inconvenient that was when you arrived, and we appreciate your patience with it. Regarding the doors, we have not previously received reports of guests having difficulty operating the locks. The check-in information does note that an adult should be responsible for locking the doors at night, as the Lodge is in the woods and we take security seriously given the wildlife in the area. That said, we appreciate you bringing your experience to our attention and will certainly take another look at the doors to make sure everything is operating as it should. We’re also sorry that you had difficulty with the movie room. It is designed to be simple to operate, but we recognize that something that seems intuitive to us may not be obvious to a guest who has never used it before. We’ll take another look at our instructions and make them clearer. We’re always happy to help by phone as well, and we wish we had been able to get you up and running while you were there. Similarly, we have not previously been aware of problems with the ovens, but we will have them checked to make sure they are heating properly and consistently. Finally, we’re sorry if you felt that communication before your stay was lacking. We did respond to your one message on VRBO, approximately 10 months before your arrival within 24 hours, but we certainly never want a guest to feel that their questions or concerns aren't being heard. We’ll continue looking for ways to make our communication and pre-arrival information as clear and helpful as possible. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. We’re glad that, despite these frustrations, you felt the Lodge was an amazing property and that the resort was a great place for a large group. We truly appreciate the opportunity to address the things you experienced and hope we can provide an even better stay for our future guests.

Thank you for the feedback. None of the other renters had mentioned a problem with the oven but since you mentioned it, we were able to fix it as of today. Horray! Also, the fireplace was working perfectly when we arrived today. Sorry you were unable to figure that out. And yes, we are super bummed as well that previous renters broke the hot tub and it had to be removed from the property for safety purposes. Thankfully, there are 2 great in-door hot-tubs just behind the Lodge at the amazing Sapphire Resort! We are glad you all had such an amazing time! Thanks again for referring your friends to us!
