The only good thing about this house is the size. Otherwise it's very overpriced for what you get. I had to send a message to get the lock code at check in. The kitchen had very little in it. We had to search the whole house for a rag to wipe the counters and table off. The kitchen floor was quite dirty and we swept up 2 roaches right at check in. The floor of the whole house was dirty. Our kids feet were black after a few hours of running around barefoot. The downstairs was freezing but the upstairs was hot. Thermostats are in weird places so it was hard to control. The king bedroom downstairs didn't have a comforter on the bed, just a sheet and thin blanket. No handsoap or hand towels in bathrooms. Again, it worked for us because of the size, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

We recently transitioned to a new housekeeping service, and I take the concerns you mentioned regarding the floors and missing items seriously and will be addressing them directly. I do wish these concerns had been brought to my attention during your stay, as I would have immediately arranged for someone to come over and correct anything that was not up to standard. The home has a stocked kitchen, our air-conditioning units were recently inspected and serviced prior to your stay, and we maintain regular professional pest-control service. While occasional dead insects can unfortunately occur following treatment, especially in Louisiana, we continue to take preventative pest control seriously. I appreciate the feedback and apologize that your stay did not meet expectations. As a host, I want guests to be comfortable, and when an issue is communicated to me during a stay, I make every effort to address it promptly.

Family stay

Had a large group of family come down for a week and the property was great. Spacious, clean and had plenty of entertainment. Plenty of communication with the owner who was very nice and accommodating. Will stay again if in the area.

A place for all ages

Our family of 15 stayed here - more than enough space for sleeping and hanging out. Having two kitchens was nice! Quiet neighborhood, close to Walmart and other grocery stores.

Loved this house!!!!! The host was very pleasent and was available to answer all of our questions. The house was larger than in pictures. There was more than enough space to accomodate friends and family. Would stay again if I am in town again.

A place to remember will truly be a place to remember for our group. The home is very spacious and we had plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. It was truly as advertised. Having two kitchens was a real plus as we were able to adequately prepare meals without stumbling over each other. If we’re ever in need of a place this size again, we will definitely be back.

Bowling stay

Was in town for the national bowling tournament found this beautiful home to stay at and its huge loved the theater room which i originally didn't know was here when i booked but definitely a nice surprise. This place also has 2 laundry rooms which 1 of them is in the half bath and 2 kitchens the only real knock was a previous guest must have damaged the air hockey table leg and the bumpers on the the pool table they were still usable

Perfect home for a large group

We traveled with 8 grown adult men and the house had more than enough room. Genika was an amazing host and was a swift communicator and helped us with every question asked. The home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of amenities nearby. I highly recommend Genika’s home for your stay in Baton Rouge!

Home-large & comfortable furnishings BUT dirty, unsafe&HOT. Charged LARGE cleaning fee-house not prepared .Washing machine had dirty water &linens in it. An error code that stopped cycle. Dryer-full of damp towels & linens. Only 10 clean towels for the entire house (18 guests). Dishwasher-full of dishes. There were locked bars on windows.(impossible for emergency exit)Bathroom sink -clogged (never addressed by host)Door Code was not given at check-in time. Contacted host - code given 1/2 an hour after check-in. Air conditioner NEVER cooled home Thermostat never went below 75. Most rooms were hotter-there were 2 portable AC units in the house when we arrived, but not installed. (indicating that host knew AC inadequate& no filtersContacted host (6 PM)day of arrival-She did not respond until next AM-she dropped off donuts, 2more portable AC units & bag brand new towels. As guests we attempted to wash the new towels&installAC units.Installation was impossible due to the barred windows. Floor was so dirty that after walking barefoot indoors, family member had filthy feet. None of the smoke detectors had batteries! Broken bunk bed ladder propped on bed.Technician for AC finally arrived on day3 but only shoved exhaust pipe of portable AC through the bars and left window open Reported to host &Communication became more difficult/rude— NOT THE VRBO STANDARD I have experienced- I expect REFUND for clean fee &compensation-discomfort /inconvenience.TERRIBLE!Very little time to relax

Wedding celebration with family and friends

My bride and I (senior couple) said our vows here. We and our family from out of town stayed here so that it would be close to my 92 yo mother who lives in BR. The house is huge, and nicely decorated. It accommodated our small family and friends with no issues. The second kitchen was a plus.

Just what we needed

Overall the property was nice. Everything was clean, the property owner was very responsive when we had an issue with a locked door, and the location was central to the locations we needed for a family wedding. My one feedback is that the pool table is old and not really playable for adults, but the kids had fun rolling the balls around. Also, the air hockey table needs repairs. Other than that, it was great!

World Series

The property was very nice. It was spacious and met the description as stated online. The check in process was easy. It was more than enough space for everyone also. The only issue we had was the air was not working properly. It took a long time for the house to cool off. The property manager was very responsive… recommend for a large group and will stay again.

Lovely Home

We enjoyed our stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all very accommodating for our group of 20. The living room with large TV was great. However, the pool table was unusable (it had no bumpers and only one working cue stick), the air hockey game was broken, and the darts board was also unusable as most of the darts were broken and missing parts. Make sure you bring your own toilet paper, trash bags, and dishwasher soap as only one of each was provided in each room for a week's stay. The main kitchen had plenty of pans, dishes for about 8 people, and not much else. The second kitchen's cabinets and drawers were completely bare. Overall we had a pleasant stay, but the kids did get a bit bored since the game room activities weren't usable as described in the listing.

Spring Break 2025

The Host is accommodating to our requests. The house was good and fulfilled the space that we needed for our large family get away. The house had a nice big TV room and large showers throughout the house. Plenty of space to play cards or board games. But the house does need some TLC. We did have problems with the heat and AC that controlled one end of the house upstairs and downstairs. There are three thermostats and only two of them were working. All of the bedrooms downstairs were cold during the night. The two master bedrooms downstairs need the mattresses replaced. Pillows are required to be placed down the middle of the mattress to fill in the gap. March 2025
