1-bedroom cottage just 3 minutes drive to Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park

This cozy pet friendly cottage lets you catch fish right from your own doorstep! It is a small cottage with a nice size bedroom with a king size bed. The kitchen is well stocked and has a full-size refrigerator, stove and microwave. The living room has a beautiful waterfront view. The Tiki bar in the photos is your space as well (there is a door into another unit opening into the Tiki bar for access only).

You can catch your own bait: pinfish, crabs or mullet. You are likely to see dolphins and manatees from your living room. There's a screened-in bar area with comfortable chairs to nod off in. You are minutes by boat or car to the Homosassa Wildlife Park.

There are many fine restaurants in the Homosassa and Crystal River area for your enjoyment of quaint Florida Southern cooking.

If you would like an IMMACULATE quiet place for great fishing or just as a place to nod your head give us a call. I believe this could be the place for you at an affordable rate. If you are looking for a place to entertain your friends while staying at the Rod'n'Nod, we would suggest that you kindly look elsewhere. The cottage is perfect for a couple. It is not suitable for additional overnight guests.

I would be happy to recommend boat Captains for wonderful Manatee tours or just old fashioned fishing.

You are welcome to bring your own boat and dock at your doorstep. If you are interested in a fishing guide, I could arrange to have a guide pick you up at your doorstep. The Florida record tarpon was caught just a mile or so from the cottage.There are two kayaks ready to go and a charcoal grill free of charge

First Florida trip

We traveled to Homosassa so I could check off my #1 bucket list item-swimming with the manatees. This nice little cottage was in the perfect location for all we wanted to do. Relaxing mornings sitting by the water and evenings ending the same way. Close to excellent dining options, beautiful drives, and a nice quiet neighborhood. The homeowner was very responsive when we had any questions. Highly recommended this property if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay.

Not what we thought it would be

upon arrival could not find the key & was frustrated in having to contact owner. Thought the owner would contact us before arrival which would have been a thoughtful thing to do since we had expressed it was our 50th anniversary weekend get away. But we know that everything is about the money so we live & learn so won't be back.

Absolutely a TEN! Even on a busy holiday weekend the neighborhood was quiet and restful. Great location. One morning a manatee surfaced directly in front of the cottage.

Location location location

Everything you need is right here. I was impressed by our accomodatiins. Fully stocked with linens,keurig,and even games. Big yahtzee fans,brought iur own only to discover there was one there. Restaurants within walking distance. Easy access to the gulf. Very clean and the people in Homosassa are truly top shelf. Well be back. Thank you for being so accomodating to extend our stay.

Wonderful place!!

This is the most adorable, clean place! Perfectly decorated to make it a homey water property. Every detail for things you may need these owners have thought of down to the cutest starfish and crab hair clips :) The owners communicated quickly and were so helpful. We will be back!

Had to share properties and too small

The property was too small and having to share boat dock with other tenant. The cottage was very small for 3 persons. Unlikely to rent this place again unfortunately.

Cute and quiet

This was a nice little place and we did enjoy our visit but we didn’t know we would be sharing a common area in between another rental home. Thankfully the people were very nice and we had no issues but still it wasn’t disclosed in the rental advertising. At times it was a bit weird and a little awkward but all in al it was a nice vacation and will probably go back to the homosassa area.

Beach Stay

This was an amazing property. John and his wife were the prefect host. Property was clean and very well maintained. We will stay there again when we visit next time.

Perfect get-away cottage

Excellent property. Very peaceful. They graciously provided everything we needed for our 5 night stay. John and his wife were excellent hosts & extremely accommodating. They went over & above. Quality linens, fluffy towels, washcloths & very clean throughout cottage. They provided full size bar soap, ample toilet paper, paper towels, Keurig coffee pods, garbage bags, etc, plenty of hangers, fun games. They were not stingy in any way, shape or form. Great boat dock for our 17' boat. Quiet friendly neighbors on the canal. Rosemary made us a delicious cake one night. The best dessert we had on our trip was hers. Our dog loved the grassy fenced in little yard. We saw numerous manatees & birds. Would absolutely stay here again. Seafood Sellers, recommended by our hosts, had the best food. All fresh! We ate there several nights. Highly recommend.

A perfect week

Our stay was excellent in every way. The host was available if we needed him, but not intrusive in any way. The bed was comfortable, the A/C was not loud and neighbors were pleasant.

Pleasant Waterfront Stay in Homosassa

This cottage was lovely for a getaway for my spouse and me. It was impeccably clean and fresh-smelling, and exactly as it appeared in photos. The location is easily accessed and conveniently located near several good restaurants and a Publix store. We enjoyed sitting on the quiet canal-front deck in the evenings. The owners were quick to respond via texts and left us a sweet surprise: a plate of fresh homemade cookies. Thanks for a lovely stay…we’d be happy to return.

Great place to relax

Looking for a place to relax and maybe fish during our downtime and this place was perfect. The place was immaculate, the neighborhood was quiet, and the fish were biting! And as a nice surprise, John and his wife gave us homemade brownies and homemade dog biscuits for our puppy. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone that is looking to unwind.

Wonderful getaway

We loved our stay there!! It was so cozy and being on the water was a plus. We just wanted to relax and couldn’t have picked a better place. And don’t get me started on the scrumptious brownies that John’s wife baked . They were the best. It was a very nice and delicious treat !!! Loved the towels. So nice and soft. Everything you needed was furnished. Didn’t need to buy anything but what you wanted to eat!!! And did I mention the brownies 🤩 Thank you for being such great hosts!!!

Everything we love about Homosassa!

This cozy property was perfect for my husband and me! We enjoyed seeing manatee and otter, and fishing right out our patio door! Comfy bed! Beautiful sunrises over coffee on the patio. John and Rosemary were great hosts! Loved our conversations and the brownies! Would definitely recommend for a couple’s retreat!

Relaxing Spot

Great spot, away from the busy city, and also not too far from site seeing (we rented a car). Morning coffee on the patio watching nature was my favourite part!

Great location and wonderful hosts

Very relaxing. Sitting on the back porch/deck watching fish jump and various species of birds was wonderful. At night, you have to watch the fish swim around the underwater light. Everything was as advertised. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The homemade treats were a tasty surprise. If we ever return to Homosassa we will definitely stay here. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Perfect Getaway

Perfect Location

The rental was exactly as described in the listing. It was clean and had everything we needed. I like being able to park close to the door and have everything on one floor. It was very relaxing and seemed as though we were far away but the rental is so close to everything, stores, attractions and restaurants. We had a great time and the host was great with communication. We loved it.
