The place is small but very clean and cozy and had everything we needed. The location is perfect: quiet neighborhood, walking distance to beach, very short drive to downtown saugatuck, oval beach and the dunes state park. The host was very nice and responsive to any questions we had. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely keep this place in mind for future trip.

This is my third stay at Shady Pines. I am always blown away by the wildlife, quiet and peaceful surrounding and the cleanliness of the home. It makes me sad to leave but I look forward to a future return.

Exactly what I needed - cottage tucked into a small neighborhood blocks from the stairs down to the beach. Quiet, everything you could imagine was already there. I was delighted.

Had a very nice stay at Shady Pines. We had great weather every day (obviously lucky for us). Love the screened in porch for watching the deer across the street. Only a short walk to the lake for beautiful sunsets and large sandy beach this year. Only 2 of us staying so plenty of space. Bed was very comfy and great water pressure in the shower. The owners provided a Brita water container which was great! Lots to do in the Saugatuck/Douglas and the surrounding areas. Be sure to head to Crane’s Orchard in Fennville for breakfast/lunch and get a piece of pie and/or take a frozen one home with you (we did both)!

We had a great stay at Shady Pines! When we arrived, the house was clean and well laid out with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the screened porch and when it was just too hot, the large family room and kitchen were ideal. Since we brought our dogs, we enjoyed walking everywhere - the beach, the Root Beer Barrel, Woosah Coffee, and the trails. The location was perfect. It was an easy drive into town for dinner or to Oval Beach. Would highly recommend Shady Pines and hope to come back again very soon!!

We had a wonderful time staying at this super peaceful cabin. We loved how close it was to the beach, and how nice Douglas beach is. Cleanliness was top notch. Amazing way to end our summer!

Loved this quaint, comfortable cottage on a 4 day getaway. The view out the front picture window was a dream with unexpected snow and deer walking along the lane. Loved how protected and quiet area was. Took lots of long walks along Lakeshore drive. Comfy bed too!

Lovely cottage so close to Lake Michigan

We felt privileged to stay in such a beautifully restored cottage in such a quiet neighborhood. It was a very peaceful retreat, and we would go back in a heartbeat.

Two adults and our dog all really enjoyed this home— quiet and so peaceful— deer viewing every morning from the porch was a special treat!
