Hadley was an excellent host! The house was very comfortable and clean. We really loved being able to walk to the lake and the trip into town was easy by car but you could also walk or use one of the bicycles. The house was well equipped for our stay and we highly recommend for other guests.

Great first time visit to the area for our family ! Five adults and a toddler and the house fit perfectly. Everything you need is provided plus nice extras of beach chairs, washer and dryer, fireplace for the evening, multiple deer sightings , and a great quiet walkable location! We’d love to return.

The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed and was very clean. It was spacious enough that we four adult women had plenty of space and privacy. It was close to everything we wanted to do and see. I gave it a four star rating for check in only because the host forgot to send me the code to get in. Once I contacted them, they replied immediately. I would highly recommend this cottage!

Douglas getaway

House was fantastic for our family! We loved the location, walking distance to morning coffee and to the much quieter Douglas Beach! Short drive to Saugatuck for shopping. House layout was great, we had a wonderful vacation

"So relaxing" was the comment from the teenagers in the group. The front porch is an oasis of peace and calm. The pictures are accurate. They did not picture the flooring or the closets. The first needs replacing and the 2nd repair and reorganizing. but that did not dampen our enjoyment of this great location with peace and quiet and walkability to the Douglas beach, which seldom has parking spaces available. And there is a walking path to the Root Beer Barrel, Italian Ice and a coffee shop, 2 miles, round trip. It is also a pleasant walk along Lakeshore Dr. and within the little subdivision. I like to cook, even on vacation, so I am glad I brought 2 stainless steel frying pans, since there where none here and the non-stick were pretty worn. The rest of the kitchen supplies were functional including good knives. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The big red leather chair was a favorite spot, so comfortable. The collection of art works gives it the charm, the location gives it 5 stars, the need for updates gives it 4 stars.

The location of this property is really perfect. It's a five minute walk through the neighborhood to the beach and then a 5 minute drive to a coffee shop and root beer float/hot dog stand place. The house was well suited with everything we needed for our stay. It was cozy and well taken care of. It had AC and everything you could need in the kitchen. There were even some beach toys. Plenty of towels and comfortable beds. We enjoyed our stay here.

Great location and comfortable place to stay

My group of friends and I had a wonderful weekend in Douglas while staying at this property. The location of the property was excellent; we were able to get to all the places we wanted to visit in Douglas/Saugatuck easily and quickly by car, and it was a short walk to a beautiful beach that we spent a lot of time at. The property itself was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed to sleep, shower, and even cook our breakfasts in the morning. Overall, the cleanliness was fine, but it did feel like some things in the kitchen could be cleaner. The hosts are friendly, helpful and responsive.

This location is an excellent one. We were very happy with that and the house is not without charm, but there are several items that belong to I presume, the homeowner which is a offputting. Drawers of sheets and clothing and closets that are stuffed with items that belong to the owners presumably-so that wasn’t expected and while the home is pleasant, the carpet has some stains and a pulled strand of wool which is unsightly. The vertical blinds in the primary bedroom as well as the great room were not able to be opened due to missing pull-stick. There is one side in the great room that opens. We were looking forward to enjoying the porch where we spent very little time partially due to the weather and partially due to the comfort factor.

Perfect location, spacious and close to downtown Saugatuck. The owners were exceptionally nice and flexible. We unexpectedly had to arrive a day late so they were very accommodating and added on an extra day at the same price for us. It was lovely and we would definitely rent again. Perfect for our family!
