The Away Place is a lakeside home with fireplace, hot tub, fire pit and kayaks. Located just 4 miles from downtown Mentone and also 4 miles from DeSoto State Park, The Away Place is modern living with a rustic, vintage vibe. Open living room with gas log fireplace and smart tv, open dining area that seats 6 and open kitchen with island seating 4 ensure that there is plenty of room for everyone! Just off the kitchen is a covered porch overlooking the lake with hot tub and more seating. The King bedroom with ensuite bath also leads out to the covered back porch. The second bedroom with two twin beds and third bedroom with Queen bed make this amazing property sleep up to 6 comfortably. Drink your morning coffee from the back porch overlooking the lake, sip a glass of wine while watching the sun set, and finish your day enjoying s'mores and making memories lakeside at the fire pit. Outdoors is a rustic landscape of trees and amazing color, making it the ultimate "Away Place" on the lake.

Mentone offers artist & antique shops and restaurants. Nearby activities include golf, DeSoto State Park, Little River Canyon National Preserve, horseback riding, hiking along rivers & waterfalls. Guests will be required to complete a rental agreement, provide a valid photo ID, and submit a refundable damage deposit hold. This property welcomes up to 2 dogs with prior approval and applicable pet fee.

This place was amazing with plenty of room and it was clean with very easy check in & out . We really enjoyed the time we spent there we have stayed twice and will be back again.

We had a great guys trip. We didn’t have any plans and hung out around the house and cooked most The Weekend. We had a great time the house was super nice and so was the hottub.

Beautiful Property

This is our 2nd time renting from Delightful Retreats. This property was perfect for our outdoor children to go outside and kayak. The house was perfect for my mother-in-law and children. Everyone had enough space, and we were able to spread out to play Mahjong and to complete a puzzle. We enjoyed playing some of the games that are in the cabin, too. My husband loved the hot tub and the privacy that he felt. We enjoyed seeing all the deer around the house, too. Great place for the weekend!

Perfect couples getaway

Such a hidden gem tucked away in a secluded area right on the water. The home was set up perfectly with all the amenities. We stayed for 4 days and cooked and ate all our meals in the well set up kitchen. We woke up and used the coffee bar every morning and sat outside admiring the views of the water and all the wildlife from the comfy seats on the back porch. We will be staying here again it felt safe and clean and was tastefully decorated.

Perfect place for our little getaway to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday! We love Mentone! This home is close to town, yet feels secluded in a peaceful area. Highly recommend!

Relaxing weekend away!

We had the best time staying in this wonderful cabin. We were coming to town to drop our kids off at camp and needed a place to stay for the weekend. It checked all our boxes plus more! The hot tub on the back porch is heavenly and the chairs down by the water are a great place to sit and relax in. My kids loved taking the kayaks out and getting to fish. The cabin is very clean and well maintained and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back again!

Comfortable Stay

Our family enjoyed our stay in the Away Place cabin. It was quiet and beautifully located next to the water. We also enjoyed the hot tub. Everything was very clean and check in was easy!

Cabin was very nice. Bathrooms were very nice. Shower in one, tub in the other. Towels were enough for the 4 adults and a 12 year old. Kitchen was very good. The only thing was there wasn't a toaster. Went to DOLLAR GENERAL and picked one up. We had a great time visiting family. Wanted to try fishing in the pond, but it rained every day.

Great Place!!

We had a nice, relaxing time at the “Away Place”. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. The surroundings were very pleasant and peaceful. The kitchen was stocked with a good selection of cooking necessities. The hot tub was nice as well.

Absolutely beautiful getaway!

We had such an amazing time at the away place! The house is absolutely beautiful, and check in and check out were very easy. The amenities were great as well and the hot tub was perfect for night time soaks. I definitely recommend this cabin for a girls or family getaway.

This is the second time we’ve stayed in your cute house. It has all the amenities to cook at home. Close drive to Mentone and Fort Payne. So peaceful. Loved having a fire out by the lake!!! Thanks for a great vacation.

Great location! Wildlife was so beautiful. Deer and rabbit right in the backyard! Very peaceful and quiet. Had a beautiful double rainbow we saw while setting on the back porch.

Big Blue cabin in the woods

This home is amazing. It’s beautifully appointed and super comfortable. We appreciated the cleanliness, well stocked kitchen and thoughtful design of the home. It’s a perfect, quiet place in the woods but also super close to both Mentone and Ft Payne. As always, Holly was helpful and kind during our stay. We can’t wait for our next visit.
