Hi, I’m Margarete—an artist, retired educator, and longtime Denton local. I studied at Art/Counseling/Information Science at UNT and got married in the TWU's Little Chapel in the woods. I spent years teaching art and curating stories in school libraries. Art Haven is my way of sharing the creative spirit of Denton—a peaceful, gallery-style space where comfort and inspiration meet.
The home features a rotating collection of local artwork and a garden designed to attract pollinators and provide a restful outdoor retreat. Hosting allows me to support emerging artists, share my love of beauty and storytelling, and welcome guests into a space that’s truly one of a kind.
