Imagine your next vacation in beautiful Orient on the North Fork of Long Island. Your day starts with a cup of coffee on the 30 ft long porch overlooking Long Island Sound. Then take a walk along your private beach to collect some sea glass or stop to fish off the beach. Later in the day you can bike through lovely Orient Village and stop at the farmers markets to gather local produce for dinner. Then enjoy a peaceful nap or curl up with a good book on the upstairs sleeping porch while listening to the waves. At the end of the day enjoy cocktails on the deck while you grill dinner outside and have a swim in your heated gunite pool while watching the sun set.

This 100 year old home has been beautifully renovated to provide everything you want in a luxury vacation home. The kitchen features black riverstone marble countertops, a gas stove and stainless steel appliances. The open floorplan downstairs has the kitchen seamlessly adjoining the family room with library and TV, as well as the sound view dining room. Both the dining room and kitchen feature sliding doors to the pool deck. The gas heated gunite pool offers comfy seating and direct views of the Sound. The mahogany deck surrounds the north, east and west sides of the home. The house comes with bikes and kayaks for you to enjoy.

Orient -- Orient is a small village on the tip of Long Island. Old houses and churches in a tranquil marine setting have made this a historic area where you will find a post office, a general store, a candy store and farmers markets. Walks and bike rides are peaceful and verdant, whether you are admiring the picturesque water views along Narrow River Road or the charming architecture throughout the village. Each season has its attraction and charm.

Local Culture -- After you have had time to relax and are ready for a little more excitement, you can enjoy wine (or beer) tastings at the local wineries (and now the excellent brewery in Greenport), shop for antiques or art in nearby Greenport or dine out in one of the fine restaurants nearby. The Long Island Ferry is 5 miles to the east, and Orient State Park is nearby. Fresh seafood is available just a short drive away at restaurants such as Orient By The Sea, the Frisky Oyster and Claudio's. Spend time shopping for antiques in Greenport or boating via one of the marinas close by.

Great house with incredible setting

This was the perfect place for my family to congregate for my mother's birthday. The view was incredible and I know it would be even better in the summer.

Beautiful house on the water!

We stayed at this house for a long weekend and it was a wonderful experience! The house was charming with a beautiful pool and right on the water. Ian was extremely responsive as well which made the weekend very easy. I would highly recommend!

Perfect Spot

We had a girls weekend at the house and it was perfect!! The house was clean and has a great layout for groups and entertaining. The outdoor pool and deck were great. The views of the water and sunset were absolutely breathtaking. Great weekend getaway !!

Cannot recommend highly enough

Beautiful, one of a kind home overlooking the Long Island sound. Pictures probably don't even do it justice. The pool is great (heated) and it is very spacious. Would happily stay again for as long as I could afford!

Wonderful stay!!

We had an amazing time! The house is beautiful and the location just perfect. On our second day, we were already planning a return visit. Ian could not have been more helpful and the amenities were great. A true gem, and we can’t wait to go back!

Friends getaway

This was the perfect home for three couples and one child. The house itself is very comfortable and well maintained, and the location is to die for. It's very quiet and peaceful and a perfect house for those seeking some R & R. Watching the sun set over the Sound from the porch steps was the highlight of our days. The beach is just steps from the house, and, while rocky, is great for strolling, finding shells, and kayaking. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

Couldn't be a better getaway home

I rented this home with 9 other friends for a long weekend - we've previously rented in the North Fork but this has by far been our best experience so far. The pictures and descriptions are absolutely accurate and don't come close to doing this house justice. The home is very secluded with a short path that takes you directly onto the beach and also conveniently located within a 10 min drive of Greenport Village. The spacious and open design of the kitchen made it great to cook in, especially with so many people helping out. We also utilized the grill as much as we could, which made it a breeze to cook for a crowd. The best part was being able to have our meals outside on the porch and relaxing by the pool. You can tell this home has been well-cared for and loved by their family through the years. Ian was extremely responsive and helpful and I could not recommend this place more.

Gals Birthday Weekend - 4 nights

This is a special place that was very comfortable for a gals getaway - 11 of us total each having our own bed except that I shared the master bedroom (plenty of room) with my wonderful sister. Friends arrived from near and far, even taking the local LIRR to Greenport, NY. The owner Ian was easy to reach with any questions I had about the rental and while there how to operate the Sonos wireless speaker system. The open floor plan was great with a dining area to fit us all, comfortable living area nearby and amazing views of sunrises and sunsets. It was an off season chilly weekend that warmed up a bit for strolls along the beach and great opportunities for photos. The kitchen area and large island was a comfortable work space to prepare meals. And, Ian's restaurant recommendations were fine especially the recommendation of the North Fork Table and Inn for our a long, leisurely and delicious lunch. I recommend the tasting menu. Ian's caretaker, Bob was also very helpful.

Dream house on the North fork

Our pre-season stay couldn't have been more perfect. A lovely, warm, inviting home with unmatched views. The only downside was having to leave!

Same time next year?

Superb beachfront property with pool, wrap-around porch and large lawn that can comfortably accommodate ten and is well-supplied with equipment for a wide range of activities. Not over the top, just simple and aesthetically pleasing with ample space for splashing in the sun, reading in the shade and watching the setting sun sink into the horizon. We shall return for sure.

Soundview Home, Orient NY

Just a wonderful house, very comfortable and quiet. Lovely, spacious porch overlooking the sound, and a good-sized yard for playing. Great swimming pool off the kitchen. Comfortable living space with a long dining table big enough for all of us ... 8 adults and 5 small children. Spacious, comfortable master bedroom suite with a/c. Perfect house for all ages. We were more than satisfied, and would highly recommend this property for an easy-does-it vacation! Hope to return, too.

Best HomeAway house!

The house was beautiful, nicely renovated and furnished with almost everything you need in a house rental. It felt like home with comfy sofas, numerous board games, Blu-Rays, DVDs and books to read. There’s a private beach, heated pool, and a porch overlooking the Long Island Sound. Views are breathtaking especially when you wake up in the morning in one of the rooms facing the LI Sound. Ian did a great job with the house, and his recommendations of where to eat, shop and what to do are spot on. Will definitely try to make it back soon. Thanks Ian!

Orient vacation

Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. The home was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We viewed spectacular sunsets over the sound from the large porch. We enjoyed walks on the pebble beach, shopping in Greenport, visits to the local wineries, and a quick ferry ride to Shelter Island where we then hiked the trails of the Nature Conservatory. The local seafood was a treat! The owners thoughtfully left us fresh flowers and a bottle of local wine on our first day there. What a beautiful location in the town of Orient.

Happiness on the North Fork

Our family of 5 was lucky enough to find this idyllic property for a month's stay last year. The house is beautifully renovated, in an arts and crafts style that is clean and elegant, while not being fussy. The amenities like washer and dryer in the kitchen are fantastic, and everything from soccer nets to kayaks to a tree swing to the Foosball table on the porch kept our kids busy throughout our stay. It is an easy walk to the town store, and local farmers market, as well as to town tennis courts and a local berry grower. We highly recommend the house and look forward to staying again and again.
