Although not luxurious, it offers a unique experience. Bring the family, bring the dogs. Enjoy fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, or just relaxing! Embrace the simplicity. No electricity but a generator is provided (renter pays for gas), gas fridge, cook stove & cozy propane lanterns. Enjoy a lovely meal by the water. Unwind by the fire pit or deck only steps from the lake, savoring the tranquil waterfront and the enchanting calls of loons.

Peaceful stay

Rustic, clean cabin was a perect spot for our weekend getaway. Me, my husband and our dog enjoyed the tranquility of the pond and woods, hiking during day and listening to the call of the loons at night.

Relaxing Getaway

My boyfriend, our dog and I stayed at this wonderful place for a weekend and it was the perfect getaway to unplug and unwind and enjoy the beautiful view. There was an adorable breakfast place nearby (April’s Maple) that was delicious and the people were super nice as well. Would highly recommend this stay and we can’t wait to come back!

Our family stay felt like an oasis. We felt safe and enjoyed our holiday vacation. We loved that we could rent a canoe or kayak to add to the fun. You can also go in the lake or the little beach like area. This checked all our wants for an outdoor experience. It had an area to do a fire, it had a grill just bring your gas. The kitchen inside the cabin is fully stocked with kitchen essentials. They really thought of the details from providing dish soap to a sponge and paper towel and toilet paper to get you started. We loved that they provided recommendations on things to do around as well! Susan is very responsive and answers quickly!

Most of the week was just my wife and I,very quiet and relaxing. Two grand children stopped by we spent most of that time on the big beach on the south end.Kitchen was small but everything worked good.Generator setup worked well.

Off the grid cabin. We only stayed for one night, but we're warmly welcomed by Tom and Susan. It had everything we needed: access to the lake, outdoor fire pit and some peace and quiet!

We had a great time didn't realize we had to use a generator for lights and water but it was very easy to deal with no problems whatsoever

Perfect waterfront getaway

My husband and our dog had the best time at the lakefront cabin! The cabin itself is simple but comfortable and the real winner is the private cove and beach. Our dog woke us up early each morning and couldn’t wait to jump in. Very dog friendly with the huge yard and dog runner. Susan and her husband were great hosts and made sure we knew how everything worked. It was a perfect escape and we can’t wait to go back!

Welcome to our home. We are delighted to host you (in English or French)! We are Sue & Tom, both New England natives and have made our home here in the Norton/Averill area. We love snowmobiling in the winter, playing with our dog, Jeeping any other time of year, fishing, hunting, boating, kayaking, hiking, forest management, maple syrup production, gardening, bird watching and enjoying all that Vermont has to offer.
