Peaceful Country Retreat just 20 minutes from Sylvania, surrounded by farms.

Bring the whole family to a roomy (2100+sq ft), pet-free home with lots of privacy and an open floor plan. Gather around the fireplace in our large family room. Curl up and watch a movie on our 50” smart TV, or relax in our reading nook. Lots of table space for family dinners or games in the family room, dining room, or kitchen. Living room seats 9+ and french doors and a pocket door make this space private when the sofa bed is pulled out.

Surrounded by fields and garden on a quiet road, it's the perfect place to unwind. Your closest neighbor is a full mile away both to the east and west; and there are unhindered views of both sunrises and sunsets.

Fully-equipped kitchen and table seating areas in the kitchen, dining room and family room. Comfy beds sleeping 8 in 4 beds. Blackout curtains and eye shades help you get a great night’s sleep. Two full baths. Lots of closet space. Laundry room with washer, dryer, sink, ironing board and iron. Separate desk/office space away from the rest of the house allow quiet time to work.

The house is all one level with no stairs. Parking for 6 cars in the driveway.

Everything in the house is available for use by guests with many extras. Private yard for kids to play or enjoy the wildlife. Free WiFi.

Other things to note:
You may want to bring your groceries and beverages with you. There is a full-size refrigerator in the kitchen with a freezer below. The closest convenience store is 5 miles away (10 minute drive) in Metamora, or full grocery stores in Blissfield, 6 miles; Adrian, 9 miles; or Sylvania, 12 miles.

We do not allow pets, or smoking, vaping, marijuana, or illegal drugs.

This home was soClean and FULLY stocked. It was perfect for our family gathering. And the sweet dog next door was a bonus. We will stay again when needed. It was 100x better than a hotel.

Stayed in this big, cozy home a couple of nights while in town for an endurance event. The little chairs out front were lovely for sitting in the morning and relaxing. The quiet of the farm was perfect!

Beautiful peaceful getaway after spending the day with family for open house. Great location to get where we needed to be as well as stores when we needed things. Highly recommend and will revisit when we have other family events in the area. Thank you again for your hospitality.

We had a great time staying at this beautiful home on a farm in the country. The host was very pleasant and the house was very cozy, well maintained and very comfortable and well stocked. Just a couple of things to note that weren't detailed in the listing (not in a negative way whatsoever, just as an FYI): The home is located on farm land and the host lives in the main house next door. Again, not negative and the host was very friendly and helpful, but just to let potential renters know the host is on site in case they are looking for a secluded, private getaway.Also, there is a (very friendly) dog who roams the property and will come over to say hello, again in a very friendly manner. We are dog people so we enjoyed his visits, but some people are afraid of dogs, so we just wanted to mention it.All in all, this is a very beautiful home in a very beautiful and quiet farm community. We had an amazing time relaxing and we highly recommend this property for a quiet getaway or gathering!

Peaceful getaway

We were very pleased with our stay. It was very spacious, comfortable, well supplied, and in a quiet, peaceful location. The homemade bread and jam to welcome us was delicious. We would love to stay again.

Country Peace

We had a great stay at "Gathering Home". Check-in was easy and the Welcome Book and our host answered all our questions. It was a sea of calm in a hectic trip to Michigan. Now that we have family in the area we will definitely be staying again.

We stayed at this cute house when we were in town for the NASCAR weekend at the MIS. I can honestly tell you we were there to sleep and shower and do some laundry, but the house did exactly what we needed it to do. We did not get to enjoy any of the history of the house. Definitely will stay there next year. The host is awesome. We were greeted with the cutest little welcome bags and some bread (which we did not get to enjoy) because we were running late each morning to get to the track (so bummed), she answered each and every question very quickly. I would 100% recommend this house. There were 5 of us girls.

This property worked very well for our families needs. There are few rentals in the area, and none that would accommodate our party, and still had plenty of room to move about freely for a very reasonable cost. The home was clean, family friendly (with a bit of nostalgia), easy sleeping & dining accommodations, fun games and many extras that we didn't need to bring anything to the home but our own food! So nice! The hosts are kind & generous in hospitality and we loved the 'extra touch' they provided. It was neat to learn of the property's history as well. Thanks for a great stay! When we are back in the area we will definitely book again!!

This comfortable, clean property felt like a hug from your grandparents. Gathering Home was clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. Cheryl, our host was welcoming and even provided fresh baked bread and jam upon arrival. This was a great fit for our needs.

Surrounded by fields and garden, you can see the horizon in every direction. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular, and with so few lights nearby, the stars shine brightly. You can often see deer passing by in the fields, or an occasional hawk or eagle. Our closest neighbor is 1/2 miles away so there is very minimal traffic, making for a great night's sleep. Even so, we are only 10 minutes from Blissfield or Metamora, 15 from Adrian, and 20 from Sylvania. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are conveniently nearby.

This property has been in our family since the 1890's. The big house next door was built in 1906 and 4 generations shared the farm work and home, loving and living together. But as the family expanded, this house was finally built. Each of the members had a deep faith in Christ and many prayers have gone on here. We hope you will feel the peace and love present even today.
