Sierra Retreat is a cozy cabin nestled among tall pines in Ruidoso’s historic Upper Canyon, offering peace and privacy just 5–10 minutes from Midtown’s shops and restaurants.

Hosted by Ruidoso Lodge Cabins, it’s part of a duplex with Cabin 22 right next door, among six other nearby cabins. The two cabins are side by side, connected by a shared wall, but each has a private entrance and full amenities.

This is a great cabin for a romantic getaway. We didn't use the kitchen except the small fridge, but it was nice that a stove top was available. The water heater is great and definitely large enough to fill the big tub. We appreciated being able to bring our dog and the fee was reasonable. Thanks for a nice weekend :)

The cabin stay with Joel was just wonderful. It was everything it was supposed to be with lodging just a minute or two away on the main drag of Ruidoso. Boutiques, Mom and Pop restaurants and of course, Ski Apache is not too far away either. Cabin was clean and well appointed. Checking in and out was easy as it gets with clear instructions from Joel. Would stay again and recommend you considering the Cabins at Forest and Stream Haven when planning to visit Ruidoso.

Quiet Getaway

Fantastic getaway

Loved the cabin. It was the perfect size and had the perfect furnishings. Close to town for getting away for a meal or shopping, but out of the way enough so that I didn’t feel like I was in town. Communication with the owner was perfect. Would return.

This was our first VRBO stay and we were a little apprehensive. But, communication with Joel was first rate. There was a problem upon arrival and he responded quickly and it was resolved within 15 minutes. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. If we return to Ruidoso, we will try to book with Joel again.

We were sad to see so much destruction from floods as we drove in to property. A cabin we stayed at a few years ago was ruined. Two next to our parking space were ruined as well. So sad! BUT our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable in cabin 21. Sitting on the porch watching the low stream and the deer we lovely! We hope to go back soon!!

Overall we enjoyed our stay. We had looked forward to enjoying our porch. Unfortunately our cabin overlooked a parking lot and one of the flooded cabins from July 2024 … in exact condition it was left after flood. Additionally we were unable to use our parking spot as another guest had parked their trailer for their motorcycle in our spot while also using another spot for their pickup. Those guests explained their predicament to us and we managed ok but had to park further away and not in a real spot so covered in mud. Our hosts were very responsive to texts concerning a plumbing issue with toilet. So sad for the Ruidoso area as apparent the floods and fires have had a dramatic effect on tourism.

This is a very quaint cabin for just 2 people. It has all the basics but if you intend on making some food there, bring the spices. Coffee brewer is good and plenty of filters are on hand. The bed is really comfy. The toilet must have been put in for a 5 year old because it is the shortest I have ever sat on. Location is really nice and close to the downtown area and plenty of wildlife roaming around. Cabin is a real rustic feel and we felt really comfortable there. All in all in was a pleasurable stay
