This home is peaceful and relaxing. Gorgeous water views. Quiet. The beds are comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Our host reached out and was available for any needs. We will be back for sure! The brunch at Tunk Joy bakery was fantastic! We loved the fire pit.

Fantastic location. Exactly as pictured. House was clean and kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook most of our meals there. Super quiet location and such a beautiful view! Wanda was very communicative and helpful. Great location for anyone wanting to see Acadia or any of the surrounding areas and towns.

We thoroughly enjoyed the solitude at this gorgeous home away from home. The deck was a perfect gathering place where we took in the ocean breeze, saw eagles, photographed seagulls, and watched the Tricia Clark depart and return from sea for the Acadia Puffin Cruises. Our amazing host, Wanda, shared a wealth of information about the cruise and things to do in the area. Wanda did the very best to ensure our stay was peaceful.

The view is pure serenity!!! It was a little drive to places but well worth the peace and beauty. They have everything you need, and the communication was excellent.

Clean, quiet and providing all the things needed for a comfortable stay away from home. The only feedback I’d offer is to add an additional fan in another bedroom as it can get warmer on summer evenings. We loved it and would absolutely stay again!!!

the descriptions and pictures were accurate and the property was absolutely stunning. we enjoyed the beauty and the solitude and were close enough to Acadia to enjoy all that was available in day trips. The kitchen was very well equipped which made our culinary efforts a joy. The property manager was very responsive for any quesitons we had. I highly recommend this property!

We loved our stay. The location was amazing with a beautiful view of the water. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the view. The house had everything we needed. We love to cook and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. The property manager was amazing and very helpful, especially when our car broke down. I would definitely stay here again and would let my friends know about this place.

This was a gorgeous place to make a home base for day trips or just to spend days watching the wildlife. Very clean, open, bright and airy. The views were spectacular, especially if you love bird watching. Bald eagles every day! Color us impressed

Could not have had a better experience! This place was beautiful. Our family of four (two teens) had an incredible time. We saw seals from the porch (and our kayaks) every day. My older teen and I walked to the Puffin Cruise and had a blast. We saw porcupines and bald eagles and all kinds of little shore birds. And the house has everything you need for a family of four, including strong WiFi for our less nature inclined kiddo. We’ve been to this area for the last decade or so and this cove was the best so far. This trip we went to Petite Manan many times, took a trip (with passports) to Campobello and Lubec, and went a couple times to Schoodic Point. It’s best to plan for grabbing groceries in Milbridge for most meals. We also love going to Musquito Harbor and Pickled Wrinkle for meals and Me and Ben’s Dairy and 207 Takeout (in the gas station closest to the house) for ice cream. 207 also had decent pizza this go round!Bring your kayaks, hiking shoes, binoculars, some good books and art supplies and have the break from the daily grind we all need.

A Perfect Stay

We had the privilege of staying here for August. The house totally works but come here for the location: right on the water, with eagles and osprey hunting every day, not to mention the occasional seal, and regular deer visits. The area does not have a big tourist infrastructure; for us, that was fine, but you have to make your own fun. Definitely visit the nearby Schoodic Peninsula.

Kinda bare bones. Minimal furniture and seating, no games, limited supplies and no other provided recreational items.Lengthy checkout and cleaning list on top of the cleaning fee.Some utensils were dirty and the smallest TVs I've ever seen and only a tv available in 1 bedroom and family room.Great views from the porch and new construction. Feels like they wanted to do a STR and ran out of money.It's okay. I wouldn't stay again for the price paid. If you're in a pinch .. it's not bad but wouldn't be my first choice.

So sorry I wasn't aware of your displeasure, when I checked in with you, you said " All good, thanks for checking in". I thoroughly check all dishes between rents and am sorry I missed "some utensils" I pride myself on OCD cleaning. As for the cabin, it is advertised as "rustic" with all amenities listed. You had to agree to the check out list before you were allowed to book, that should not have taken more than 15 minutes if the cabin is maintained during your stay. It should not have been a surprise as you agreed to it in advance. The cleaning fee prepares the house for your arrival... all beds, towels, and such are prepared for each group in advance. All soaps, laundry pods, dishwasher pods and such are filled and ready for you. The house is spotless for your arrival. You simply bring your groceries and relax. Again, I am sorry you found dirty utensils, there is no excuse for that other than I missed them. Private homes have an expectation that the guest picks up and cleans up after themselves. They do not offer housekeeping. Between guests, the cabin is maintained and prepared for the next guests, unlike hotels, there is no maid service. The cleaning fee prepares the cabin for your arrival. I gave you a five star rating for how you left the cabin, and feel if you had read the listing details, this could have been avoided as it was not what you were looking for. Thank you for taking very good care of our little cabin during your stay. Wanda (manager and housekeeper).

Relaxing cabin in the woods

Family Tides is a relaxing cabin in a private setting nestled in the woods. Guests will enjoy sitting on the porch watching the wildlife- seals,Bald eagles, deer and many different birds. The cabin is in a remote setting but a quick drive tothe next town gives access to a grocery store, excellent Mexican restaurant and a seafood market. We enjoyed the proximity to the Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor and Acadia. Wanda the property manager is wonderful to work with. If you are seeking solace from the busy world, you will find it here. Our one suggestion would be to switch out the queen mattress for a king sized bed in the main bedroom.

Shoreline Solitude Retreat, Just What We Needed!This was exactly what our family needed! From the cozy cottage to our amazing host Wanda, the whole experience left us wanting more.The cottage was perfect, the salty air along the shoreline made for the best mornings meditation, and the open layout plus all that natural sunlight made the space feel warm and welcoming all day long.There’s plenty to do nearby, from local spots to explore to great food that will definitely satisfy your taste buds. Our little one didn’t want to leave, and even my wife agreed, and that was after a late check-out!All I can say is, this place truly deserves the name! If you’re thinking about booking it…do it. You won’t regret it!

The perfect coastal Maine experience!

Amazingly beautiful, quiet and relaxing coastal Maine gem! The cabin is immaculate and the perfect size. It is modern but still has that nature/cabin feel. Well equipped and stocked with everything you need. Positioned perfectly on the edge of the ocean bay. You rarely hear a sound other than nature and a few lobster fishermen’s boats. So relaxing to sit on the porch to watch sunrises, sunsets, the tide rise and fall, birds and lobster boats. We especially enjoyed watching a pair of seals feed just off bank each evening. Very secluded and private but close to quaint local towns and so many Maine experiences. We hope to return again!!

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect and the view of the bay was awesome. Seals, Eagles and occasional dolphins were most morning. The cabin was well equipped with everything you need for cooking; but other than breakfast we did not take advantage. The mornings were best for sure. Peace and quiet, nice place for my morning bible study and enjoying Gods beauty. Wanda, the property manager was so so great. We had a few issues but she was all over it and was greatly appreciated. We mentioned the porch needed recliners one day and that afternoon there were 2 recliners. Can’t say enough. We would definitely consider staying here again. It’s about 50 minutes from Bar Harbour.

WOW!

We cannot sing the praises of this property loudly enough! The view is so peaceful, the sounds of the bald eagles was a first for us, the seals sunbathing on the rocks, the cleanliness of the property, the fully-stocked kitchen - all of these things led to one of the most relaxing vacations we have had in a long time. The information about grocery stores and the typical "tourist" information provided by the property manager was so helpful in planning out the activities for the week. Just two things you need to know - make sure you have a pass to get into the parks - the park rangers check for them! - and it is a bit of a drive to get back to places to shop so ask the property manager - she is a wonderful source of information!

Perfect location! Peaceful, awesome full front porch from which you can relax and enjoy the water-view from inside and outside.Interior was clean, well furnished and perfect decor! Beautifully built!Having a half bath is much appreciated. Two bedrooms with comfortable beds. Enjoyed our stay immensely!! Host was wonderful!
