What a beautiful property. Your garden is the white sand, surrounded with palms and forest and the ocean is steps away. Turtles nest on the beach right in front of the house and we saw a couple at night during our stay which was amazing. Although the sargassum problem, which is plaguing the whole coast, piles up on the beach and made swimming in the sea impossible, the staff were so attentive trying to help by tidying the beach everyday. The staff were all lovely and so helpful, making our stay feel like a boutique hotel but all for ourselves. The air con broke in one of the bedrooms and they offered to move us but we preferred to stay in our room which was large and comfortable and we made do with fans. We swam in the pool, relaxed in the hammocks, kayaked in the lagoon and had a thoroughly relaxing time. It’s a thoroughly off grid kind of place, around an hour to Tulum and all the better for it (although there is wifi that worked perfectly). The road through the reserve has a (deserved) reputation for being terrible but during our stay there was a crew fixing it and it was already much improved in sections by the time we left. I would imagine the road improvements will continue. It’s a special place and we would gladly return!
