Footsteps to Pebble Beach & Short Drive to Redwoods

Castle Island Getaway is literally a 30 seconds walk from the scenic and beautiful uncrowded Pebble Beach of Crescent City, California. Our guests stay in a private home with the main living area up one flight of stairs that includes an updated kitchen & bathroom. You'll enjoy views of our wooded acreage, with the sounds of the ocean and local wildlife ever present during the day and night. It's a short walk to the beach access and bicycles are also available for our guests to enjoy a cruise along Pebble Beach and view the wildlife refuge, Castle Island. Or just relax in the quiet peacefulness of our little corner of Del Norte County, we call 'the Pearl of the Northwest'.

Upon arrival our guests may contact the hosts who can assist with dinner plans and information about things to do and see in our area. We strive to assure our guests make the most of their vacation in this gateway to the Redwoods.

The upstairs living area has a smart TV, dining area and fully stocked kitchen for your convenience.

The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed with a pillow top for added comfort. The windows offer views of the wooded acreage, sounds of the ocean and viewing of local wild life. There is ample closet space for extended stays. There is an additional bedroom downstairs with a daybed that converts to two singles and an additional bathroom and laundry area.

The amazing Redwoods are a year round pleasure in Del Norte County! A short fifteen minute drive east from our beach home brings you to Jedediah Smith Redwoods National & State Park. The area is also known for the pristine beauty of
the famous wild and scenic Smith River gorge. Great for fishing, rafting & swimming.

Our spring and summer activities include biking, hiking, kayaking, sailing, surfing, as well as wild flower and wildlife viewing. Salmon and steelhead fishing is available October through February. Whale watching occurs March through May and depending on the high seas November through December. The arrival of the Aleutian Geese to Castle Island as they migrate north is a spectacular event from February through March. Nature is abundant in Del Norte County all year long and the easy beach access offers our guests the chance to explore tide pools and view spectacular sunsets along Pebble Beach.

Overall impression of this property was great! Owners were very helpful with ideas of sights to see and recommended some awesome restaurants. The property was very clean, although the furniture was a little dated and not super comfy. All in all we had a wonderful visit to this beautiful area.

Highly recommend this cottage as a home base for exploring Redwood National and State parks. Property was very clean, got a good nights sleep in the comfy beds and appreciated being able to do laundry in the middle of our trip. Great communication with hosts.

Trip with my girls

My girls and I had a great time staying here. The easy walk to the beach was perfect and the quick drive to explore the redwoods was exaclty what we needed. The owners were quick to respond and very sweet when we had a conversation outside.

Great place!

We had a wonderful stay at this beach cottage! The place was clean, cozy, and just steps from the ocean. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with. We’d definitely love to come back!

Fantastic location (few minutes from a beautiful beach), cute little cabin with the owners close by if you need anything. Awesome communicafion from the owners. Will definitely be back if we're in the area again!

Nice retreat.

Enjoyed a quiet , peaceful neighborhood stay with a spot just off the main street along the beachfront. Good view of the ocean from the picture window. Would be a great place for a couple plus one.

Perfect Central Location

We enjoyed this property and it's location to places we wanted to visit. Linda and Bill were extremely nice and the property worked out perfect for my husband and myself. Everything we needed was at the property.

Pebble Neach Paradise

Beautiful private space. Beach is a block away. Close to Redwoods NP and Jebediah State Park. Everything you need to enjoy your vacation. One f the best VRBO spaces we have rented. A note to those who have limited movement ability. Sleeping space, bath, and laindry down. Stairs to get up to living space, kitchen, bedroom. If there is space, you need to book this piece of paradise!

Beautiful Hideaway

The owner of the property leaves no detail untouched. Cozy property and lovely ambiance. Short distance from the beach. Owner even gave us recommendations for food and where to fill for gas. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable, everything we could hope for

Beautiful location, very comfortable space. Really nice having a full kitchen to cook food. Perfect for our family of 4. Linda was very helpful offering advice and help for our stay. Highly recommend it for visitors of the Northern California coast!

Stunning view of ocean!

Our family of four had so much fun in Cresent City! We were able to walk to the beach every single day. I got to drink my morning coffee at the dining table every morning and see the ocean when the weather was clear. House was clean and everything was provided for us, even the laundry and dryer sheets! I would definitely stay again.

Great Location for beach access. Clean home. Should mention in listing that owners live on site.

Enjoyed the location but would prob not have rented if I realized we would be sharing our outdoor relaxing space with the homeowners (both homes on same lot, same yard).

Great location, Super hosts!

Just as advertised, there is a staircase to the beach within steps of the property. Bill and Linda were a joy as hosts. We informed about a few ants which I'm sure have been addressed by now. Everything functioned well. Nice big washer and dryer.

Fantastic stay in Crescent City!

Would definitely return! Linda was fantastic, great communication. Was very clean and organized. Linda took great care in the property and provided a lot of helpful information that was carefully thought of. Overall a 5 star experience.

They enjoy traveling outside of Crescent City but always love coming home to their quaint coastal town. It's natural beauty offers many adventurous activities for those choosing to partake!
