Welcome to The Octopus Garden! Inspired by the Beatles song, this stylish home is the ultimate family getaway. The open floor-plan upstairs opens up to the spacious deck. Downstairs, the bar area opens to a shady spot to cool off with a frozen drink. This home is fully stocked with beach chairs, toys, tents, and umbrellas. Toss a cooler in the beach wagon and it's a short, 5 minute walk to Pirates Beach! Rinse off in the outdoor shower, power up the margarita machine, and throw something on the BBQ!
Rest assured there is plenty of room for all your friends and family at this 4-bedroom beauty. With 2 queen beds, 1 king bed, and 2 sets of bunk beds, this wonderful property has it all. You'll find everything you need, from a washing machine to WiFi, to make your stay convenient and enjoyable. The 3 bathrooms are equipped with hair dryers and showers. One bath also includes a bathtub. Plus, there are 2 additional living rooms with sofa beds for extra sleeping. Amazing stay!

Super cute place close to the beach. Well-stocked with beach gear and kitchen gadgets. We found to perfect for 3 families with kids. As pictured, clean, and great communication!

Prom Weekend Getaway

Home was perfect for us. We had 2 families with 6 teenagers. 3 of them were attending prom nearby so we decided to make a fun weekend out of it. The kiddos didn’t have to drive far after prom and were able to enjoy the beach, games provided and watch a late night movie. The home has a 2nd refrigerator downstairs which really helped when we were grilling outside. Neighbors were nice. Short distance to the beach. They welcome golf carts. Host was great with communication.

Beautiful home

We had a great stay at Octopus Garden. Her online manual is amazing. It helped us be prepared with what to bring. We didn’t have any issues with the house, it was comfortable, short walk to the beach. Would highly recommend!

Great home in a great neighborhood

Loved the house. Super clean. Note that the bunks are geared towards littles. Was a tight fit for our adult sons. Great communication with owner. I recommend this home & host.

Family Vacation

We had a fantastic time at the property. It was very clean upon arrival and it had everything we needed for an easy stay away from home and while on vacation. We loved how the place was set up with several rooms for multiple families. It was an easy walk or drive to the beach and that's where we spent most of our time while in Galveston. We would recommend this place to family and friends, it was a great location and the perfect spot for our kids/grandkids to experience the beach for the first time!

Great getaway!

The house was perfect for our family vacation. It was well equipped with everything you’d need from the kitchen to the beach. We had 4 kids in the group and they loved the bunk bed room and reading the octopus books every night!

LOVE The Octopus Garden!!

100% the best rental we’ve ever booked. Clean, clean, clean! Amy is a wonderful host! Way more than you’ll ever need for your stay, complimentary toiletries to get you started, k- cups, board games, extra trash bags and beach items (tarps, chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, wagons to haul it). When I say beach items, this place is stocked - no need to bring or buy anything! Thanks Amy for sharing your amazing beach house with us:)

We love this home!

The Octopus Garden Beach House has a floorplan that utilizes every inch of space with the most thoughtful of details, making it the perfect space for entertaining. The home was close to the beach and extremely clean with quality furnishings. The check in/check out process is efficient and the owner is very helpful and responsive. We can’t wait for our next trip to Galveston so we can stay at the Octopus Garden! Thank you to the owner for a wonderful experience.

Great Island Getaway

Absolutely love this property. The short distance to the beach was a pleasant stroll and the beach itself was perfect for our weekend getaway. The house was amazing and the owner thought through everything a family with kids could need. Right down to the Octopus story books!! But it is also a perfect getaway for a group of adults just wanting to chill island style. Highly recommend this property for a vacation get away!!

Fun Location

We had some issues with a musty smell in the basement and cleanliness upon arrival, but Amy was excellent to work with and had good communication the entire weekend to remedy any concerns. The house is a couple blocks away from the beach. Our 2 year olds were able to walk the entire way easily. Great extras such as beach toys, wagon, towels, games & books were appreciated. The bunk room was great for the kids. We really enjoyed staying in the upstairs area but if we went again, probably would plan to just not use the basement except for laundry.

Perfect Thanksgiving getaway

This home was a perfect spot for our family’s Thanksgiving. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed. The bedrooms had plenty of storage spots for our clothes. The owners also included lots of extras: games galore, books for kids in the bunk bed room, and a fully stocked wagon to take to the beach. We loved this place and plan to return in the future.

Great house close to beach

My family could not have enjoyed our stay more! We only wish it had been longer! Every detail has been thought of in this home. From the fully equipped kitchen, the garage full of beach items, the built in bunk beds, and even a charging station for all of the devices, it’s easy to feel right at home here and not worry about all the minute details. Plus, the decor and all the finishes in the home, truly give it an upscale beach house feel. We look forward to returning!

a "REAL" vacation...second visit here

We are three couples, in our late sixties. This place was perfect! PLUSES: clean, quiet, family friendly neighborhood, fully stocked kitchen (although we didn't cook, just had coffee and snacks) comfortable beds, clean updated bathrooms, and decorated in a fun style! This place is designed for the guests. It's obvious Amy wants you to have a REAL VACATION. The staircase to enter the top level is outside. So, if you are staying in the private bottom level, be aware that you need to walk up the outside steps. Highlights: sitting on the deck, lazy mornings. One couple took their fresh coffee and enjoyed a short walk to watch the sunrise on the beach. Almost always vacant beach. It was so beautiful We love the shoulder season. Traffic was very light driving to downtown. Fun night with a great meal at "Hearsay." Even a little impromptu dancing on the sidewalk. A second highlight was the short trip to "Cooper's Landing." Excellent restaurant/bar. Cooper's Landing opened in the Spring. They have all their kinks worked out. Just great food. Lunch, Dinner and Happy Hour. This is our second stay here and it won't be the last.

Absolutely wonderful

We loved this place! The deck was amazing and you could hear the waves from the beach! It was spacious for 11 people and we all had own own privacy. The extra amenities were plus! (Laundry detergent, kcups, seasonings, beach stuff and towels, dish soap) We look forward to being able to enjoy this place again soon for another family vacation. Also very quick to get any issued fixed. Check in and out was easy and hassle free!

Lovely experience

Everything from rental to checkout was top notch. The property was perfect for two families with five elementary school age children. Nothing could have been better - a fully stocked garage full of beach gear and a kitchen with all of the needed cooking equipment gave us a long weekend of memories! Thank you, Amy for the treasured experience - we are hopeful to make it an annual tradition!!

Pirates Beach is a very special place. Not only is it a short drive into the bustling heart of Galveston with its fun shopping and amazing restaurants, it is also far enough out of the way that you can avoid the crowded beaches that accompany the seawall. We love our home and its location as it is just a short walk (5 minutes, we timed it!) to the beach.

Take the downstairs entertainment area for instance.
