The house itself was well kept. It was clean and well kept. However, the outdoors left a lot to be desired. We booked this mainly for the outdoor pool and hot tub. The pool was not in commission and we were not told about this prior to arriving. This left for many sad children who were expecting a poo.. It was obvious that the pool had been out of commission for some months (the sides were bent in, the water was mossy, and it even contained a dead squirrel). We were given a partial refund for the pool, which we highly appreciated. However, given that the pool was the main attraction that this house was advertised with, a lot was left to be desired and we would have changed our reservation had we known there was no pool.

FAMILY TRIP

The first impression was just like the pictures. Everyone was pleased with choice to book here. The kiddos loved the game room. Our Mom turned 75 and we gave her the master bedroom with the big poster bed. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Enjoyed our stay

The code didn't work upon arrival, and it took almost an hour for communication with host. But once we got in, everything was as pictured.If you have little ones I'd recommend to bring a baby gate for the stairs. Our kids (15,10,10,9,7,1) loved the pool and the game room! Everything we needed essential wise was provided! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful! Town is maybe a 5 minute drive away. We would definitely stay again!

Galloway/Pool Family Retreat

Our stay at this property was great. It was very accommodating for 11 adults for four nights. The door was not programmed with the the entry code when we arrived but it was resolved in about 30 minutes. The pool and hot tub was ready for use and enjoyed by all. The game room was a big hit and provided much entertainment. I would recommend this property. The rental company was very helpful to communicate with regarding the door. Overall great experience for all.

I would never rent from Lage Realty again!! The house property did not meet expectations set by the VRBO ad and the management failed to address and resolve issues in a timely manner or not at all. Negative reviews from March and June 2026 had us concerned about the pool and hot tub condition. We contacted Lage Realty the week before arrival asking if the pool and hot tub were fixed, clean and useable and were assured they were. Initially that was true. We checked in Saturday 4pm. The hot tub leaked out by the Sunday evening. The repair guy didn't show until 24hrs later, fixed the leak but left the tub off and didn't make sure chlorine levels were correct or dispenser had tablets in it. Tuesday afternoon we contacted the owner that the floating chlorine dispenser in the pool was also empty. We were told they'd send the pool service. By Wednesday slime was starting on pool liner and a film on top of water. We sent pics and reminders Wed afternoon and quit using the pool Daily multiple texts and pics resulted in the pool service NEVER showing up nor bringing chlorine and by Thursday the pool was green. We ended up having use of the pool for 3 days and not at all the hot tub. We also reported rat infestation under pool deck, rotting deck boards that a chair leg broke through spilling occupant, a rickety pool ladder totally unsafe, broken arcade game, missing pool cue stick tips, dirty siding and outer doors, broken ring doorbell, dirty AC intake vent and broken table umbrella.

We booked this home in February to plan for our trip in June for a children's dance competition. A week prior to our arrival, we received a message informing us that the pool would be out of service, which was understandable given unforeseen circumstances. We still hoped it could be repaired before our stay. Upon arrival, we found the pool appeared to have been out of use for some time. After unloading our belongings and cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms, we went to the store to prepare for the week. Later, we returned to the house to drop off our food and then went out to dine at The Purple Cow. We returned to the house to shower and rest after a long day of traveling. The following day, some of the children attended the competition, and I took a walk around the property. During the walk, I noticed two bites on a child's abdomen. I also observed spider webs throughout the house, pests behind the beds, and dishes that were not fully clean. The pool area was in poor condition, with trash such as old milk containers, pool parts around the area not properly secured or covered, and the pool itself was not blocked off. The grass outside was not mowed, and there were scrub brushes beneath the back porch. Additionally, upon entering the house, there was an unpleasant odor, which we mitigated using spray and air freshener. Moreover, the property was advertised as having four king-sized beds; however, one of the beds was a queen. Didn’t get code for home till I text

Great house for multigenerational entertainments.

We loved our stay at Rockwell Retreat. I take my four grown daughter, their spouses and children on a trip once a year and this house was one of the best we’ve stayed in for keeping all age groups occupied. The game room was fantastic and the hot tub was perfect since we arrived just as a January blizzard was dying down. It was well stocked with appliance, dishware and silver, and I received very quick responses to my questions. There were a few minor concerns, but nothing terribly concerning. The sound level on the retro arcade game was far tooo loud for comfort, and the volume control was apparently locked up in the control box. Oven heated up extremely slowly but eventually did the job. The downstairs beds were not very comfortable, although the master was very nice. Front door latch wouldn’t catch -we had to lock it to keep the door from randomly opening. A mixed bag as far as little things go, but overall a very pleasant experience. Would definitely stay here again.

The house is beautiful. It was great having that many rooms for a large family so we could all stay in one home. It was great having the game room for the adults and children alike and the pool. We would suggest that the website be updated because we were under the impression there might be pool Floaties available, but there were none. Also the basketball game in the game room was not there. We would suggest a pergola awning or umbrella on the back patio so we could get in the shade out of the sun while sitting outside also the website said that the back doors were available to the pool, but it didn’t state. It was the only access to the backyard we would have to go through the room and wake someone up to get to the back patio in the mornings and evenings. Also, we were charged a cleaning fee upfront that we felt like if we were charged a cleaning fee we expected it to be completely cleaned and a couple of the bathrooms had hair in them and some dust. Otherwise it was a gorgeous place quick and easy access to the things we wanted to do on vacation so all in all we enjoyed our stay.

This house is not as advertised. The pool is not functional and clearly has not been for quite some time. This was never disclosed prior to arrival, even though the check in email included details about pool use and maintenance. We had a house full of extremely disappointed kids, and would never have booked the house had we known the pool was not accessible. The small amount of water in the pool is a mosquito breeding ground, making the backyard and deck mostly unusable in the evening. The grass had also not been mowed recently. In the game room, the basketball goal in the pictures was not there, and the arcade game did not work. We were offered a full refund if we wanted to leave, we but there was literally nowhere else in Hot Springs for a large group to go on such short notice. We were given a partial refund as compensation, but it was still a disappointing bait and switch. We will find a different place to stay next year.
