The space
Located in a secluded mountain community between Mariposa and Oakhurst, our home is the perfect getaway retreat. Situated on the edge of the Sierra National Forest, you’ll be surrounded by pines and oaks, and can enjoy views of and take a dip in the Chowchilla River. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home includes all the comforts you need. Bask in the tranquility and create lasting memories in this incredible place.
*LIVING ROOM*
The living room has a comfortable sofa. Cuddle up near the fireplace while watching your favorite show on the Smart TV. It's ready for your favorite streaming services on Roku. Grab one of the provided board or card games and enjoy a fun night of entertainment.
*KITCHEN & DINING*
Step into the kitchen to enjoy a fully stocked coffee bar. Make a pot for the family or individual cup for yourself. For those cold winter nights, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or tea. Are you ready to cook the family a feast? This kitchen is well equipped with cookware, bakeware, serving ware, tools, gadgets, oil and spices.
*OUTDOOR SPACE*
The outdoor area is tranquil set among a natural landscape with oak trees and the mountains serving as a beautiful backdrop for the incredible sunsets. Enjoy the nights skies with stargazing and being mesmerized by the milky way.
Guest access
Self-check in by using a keyless entry system. An access code will be provided prior to check in and will expire upon check out. The entire house and property are exclusive to guests. Parking is conveniently located right next to the house.
Other things to note
- Please respect our neighbor’s property and stay within our boundaries.
- Need to do laundry? No problem. Washer, dryer, detergent and fabric softener is provided
- Access to the river requires a scramble down the backyard log steps and rocks. The rocks can be slippery and in some places steep. Access at your own risk and comfort level.
This is a wonderful home in the mountains, the great outdoors of the rural Sierras surround us, flora and fauna abound and make this place the beauty that it is. That being said, it can be unpredictable at times. Critters of all sizes share their home with us. There are bugs, bats and curious birds. Little lizards, snakes, wild turkey, frogs and the occasional turtle. Racoons, squirrels and deer. Every once in a while, we might hear of a bear.
The property is kept in a native state, safe for fire protection. Poison oak is native and it happens. The rocks that form our "backyard" can be steep and slippery. They are to be negotiated at your comfort level. We don't have fences, the deer like it that way!
The weather is not under our control. The Sierras are prone to fire danger. Smoke can happen in the area and it doesn't always make things as perfect as we'd like them to be. We monitor the local situation closely and defer judgment to the county as to any immediate fire dangers.
While the river flows steadily through the winter and spring, it has been known to run light or dry up completely in the hot summer months. Thankfully, the riverbed becomes another great space to explore!
While we want all these things to be perfect around our home, sadly the stars don't always align. We do our absolute very best to help under these circumstances, but are by no means responsible for the acts of nature. If any of the above makes you feel squeamish or uncomfy, then a hotel stay may be more in line with your creature comfort level.
We want nothing more than for you to enjoy your stay and we do feel that setting expectations up front is a great way to insure that!
CANCELLATIONS: Before booking, kindly note that we maintain a strict cancellation policy with no exceptions. We understand that unforeseen events may arise, and we highly recommend considering travel insurance for added peace of mind. You may explore options from external providers that encompass cancellations and various other areas. This proactive approach ensures that you are prepared for any unexpected changes to your travel plans, allowing you to fully enjoy your stay at our accommodation without concerns about unforeseeable circumstances.
PETS: No pets allowed under any circumstance.
SEPTIC SYSTEM: We are on a septic system. Only toilet paper permitted in toilets. No paper towels, diapers or feminine hygiene products may be flushed.
CHILD PROOFING: We are family friendly, but not childproof. Please move items to make things safe for your little ones, but return them to their homes before you leave, thank you.
OCCUPANCY: Please note that only the guests listed on the reservation, not to exceed 4 guests, are allowed on the property unless specifically approved by the property manager.
NO SMOKING INSIDE: Smoking is not allowed inside the home. Any evidence of smoking will result in odor removal and furniture cleaning fees.
NO PARTIES/EVENTS: We ask that you treat our home as your own and refrain from hosting any parties or events. This helps us preserve the property's pristine condition for future guests and your own return visits.
NO UNBOOKED/UNREGISTERED GUESTS: Please inform the owner or property manager if you have any unregistered visitors. Events or large gatherings on the property without prior written approval are not permitted and will be considered false pretense. This may result in the forfeit of advance payment, deposit, and/or rental money, and the party may not be permitted to check in or may be required to leave the property.
NO FIREWORKS, FIREARMS: For safety reasons, fireworks and firearms are not allowed on the property.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to hosting you at our property!
