Lovely Apartment, near Deal, Canterbury and the Sea

Great 2 bedroom apartment on one level with views to a lovely church. Its a 5 minute walk into Deal and the same to the beach.
The lounge dining area is large, light and airy with a small veranda to the side. The kitchen is again of good size and has a vaulted ceiling is well equipped and has a central working area. There is a double bedroom with surrounding cupboards, a twin bedroom and a nice bathroom offering a Jacuzzi bath with shower over, w/c and basin. There is a small garden area for your private use.
This is a very well presented property offering a good level of accommodation in a quiet location yet within easy reach of an Historic Town and the beach.

Could do better.

The location was good and the instructions were easy to follow. Good points: The beds were clean with suitable bedding for the weather. Parking was good. Ample room for everyone and furnishings were somewhat elegant. Less than good: The apartment is well in need of some TLC. Some facilities were not useable, namely the spa bath. The controls were seized and not adjustable. The only way to get it working was to turn on the safety RCD in the cupboard (With wet hands?) The drain plug needed strong fingernails to remove as, like most other fittings would not move. On the subject of safety, The smoke alarms should have been replace in September 2012, Likewise, the carbon monoxide detector replaced in 2016! The standard of electrical fitting including ceiling lights was bordering on dangerous. Curtains were ripping around the eyelets as they were too small for the rods. Attention to detail was non existent, there were four clocks in the apartment, all saying completely different times. The kitchen was well equipped and some items were nice and new. Others not so. As the apartment allows pets allowance was made for this, but cleaning above head height returns me to the title, Could do better.

Pleasant stay

A nice place to spend a few days. Quiet neighbourhood but convenient. Highly recommended.

Very nice flat 5 mins to Walmer Beach quiet location handy for getting out and about for walks etc great that there is use of an outdoor garden and a balcony

Comfortable and spacious property in quiet location

This apartment was very clean. The kitchen was large and well equipped. The living room/ dining area was spacious and very comfortable with a little balcony off it. The master bedroom had plenty of storage but no storage in the second twin bedroom, but that wasn’t a problem for us as our children had enough space for their case and bags. The beds were comfortable with nice bedding and plenty of towels. The booking process was easy with good communication and arrival instructions from the property manager. The owner lives in the building and she greeted us and made sure we were ok. We enjoyed the quiet location. There was a convenience store, pharmacy and a nice pub to eat at about a 5-10 minutes walk away. Also good take aways near and it was about a 15-20 minute walk into Deal where there is more choices of eating places and shops. Walmer castle is a short walk away and is really lovely with beautiful gardens and woodland trail. The sea front has a pleasant promenade to walk to Deal or to Kingsdown in other direction but the beach is all shingle. We enjoyed a beach day at Broadstairs. Dover castle is only about 20 minutes drive away, the beautiful city of Canterbury is a half hour drive and there are many other visitor attractions nearby so it was a good base from which to explore this part of Kent. I would recommend.

Home from Home

The property provided a spacious property for us to spend time with family and plan days out within current restrictions. Kitchen is well equipped for food preparation and the lounge diner provided plenty of space for relaxing in front of the TV and reading or processing a few things on the laptop or painting. Bed was very comfortable, heating easy to control and bathroom was lovely with jaccuzzi bath and shower.

Holiday let

We had a brilliant holiday, fantastically Quite. Took home all clean washing home because of washer and a dryer. We are hoping to book again in late September.

Peace and Quiet

An interim stay during lockdown turned into nearly 4 months. We loved the location near to the beach. Unfortunately no restaurants, shops or other amenities open but they were all there . Deal is a great place for all ages. The property was very comfortable, well furnished with a fully equipped kitchen.h

Very british allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Dusche ging gar nicht entweder nur heisses oder kaltes Wasser das auch nur tröpfchenweise. Auch nicht ganz sauber. Aber gute Lage

Lovely holiday Apartment,near Deal

Lovely cosy Aparment. Beds very comfortable. We had a great time in Kent. Would love to be back sometime. Close to the beach and Walmer Castle. The neighbours very friendly. We had a bit of a problem with the shower. Water was very hot.Couldn't turn it down.

Sehr schöner Urlaub

Eigentlich ist alles zu der Wohnung schon gesagt worden. Wir haben, obwohl wir im April da waren, sehr großes Glück mit dem Wetter gehabt und konnten viel unternehmen. Und zurück in der Wohnung war dann auch alles prima. Und wie schon gesagt: die Küche ist der Hammer!

Excellent accommodation

Very clean very comfortable and cosy warm. Quiet location but just a 10 minute stroll to convenience shop and friendly local public. Bus stop right outside so no need for a car. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone thinking of staying 10 out of 10

Great location and good size apartment. Stayed several times and will again

Furniture and fittings not to everyone’s taste but comfortable and clean. People in apartment below smoke and it permiates into kitchen and bathroom. Not a big issue and we will book again

Delightfully quirky apartment. Comfortable.

Wonderfully quirky flat. Outstanding kitchen. Last star lost on little niggles: couldn't get main bedroom tv to work (main one excellent), rather insecure dining chairs, and microwave with stuck turntable. Outweighed by everything else, especially the phenomenal kitchen and the beautiful huge stove. Good WiFi, especially in the kitchen. One of the most comfortable beds we've ever found in a holiday let, too. Would go back there, niggles notwithstanding.

Great Vacation

The apartment was cute and comfortable with everything we needed for a great vacation! The Large kitchen was beautiful! We especially enjoyed the location. It was close to Walmer Castle, the beach and lots of great restaurants. In less than 20 minutes we were able to drive to Dover to catch the Ferry for a quick trip to France and Brussels. It was a lovely week!

Not for the elderly

Seven outside steps to front door. Low seating in lounge area. Lighting in lounge and kitchen was poor, bulbs missing. No instructions for use of kitchen range or whirlpool bath. No non slip mat when using shower or a handrail. Location is good. Beds very comfortable but storage in twin bed room was non existent.

Lovely kitchen, great apartment, could have been wonderful.

The flat was really nice, very clean and with a great kitchen. The main issue with our stay was the smokers in the flat below. Upon opening the door each time we came in, there was a stink of cigarettes which permeated through the floor and into everything. The children's room was right above where we suspected most of the smoking took place and was so bad that the children ended up sleeping on the floor at the other end of the apartment. Unfortunately the smoke really took the edge of what would have been a great stay. Other things that the owner might wish to look at are the TV which was almost unwatchable much of the time (due to glitches) and the WiFi provision which faded in and out but was off more often than not.

Un merveilleux séjour

Nous avions choisi cette destination du fait de sa proximité avec Douvres, Canterbury et les ravissants villages du Kent. Nous avons découvert Walmer et le calme au bord de la mer, et puis cette vaste demeure ancienne au charme désuet. La maison fait face à une grande place sur laquelle trône l'église du village. Les gens que nous avons rencontrés ont été gentils et avenants et la proximité de Deal et ses commerces permettent de s'approvisionner sans problème. Le logement était très propre et conforme aux photos présentées sur le site. L'ameublement, l'équipement et l'accueil de Joyce ont contribué à nous y sentir vraiment comme chez nous. Le joyau de l'appartement reste cette magnifique cuisine et sa verrière très "anglaise" qu'on a du mal à quitter !! Nous conseillons vivement cette location, tout y était parfait. Nous essaierons d'y retourner et recontacterons Tim qui nous a beaucoup aidés !
