This designer decorated 1494 square foot home is located in Sun City Anthem at Merrill Ranch, Arizona's premier active adult golf community and named one of the 50 Best Communities in the nation by Where to Retire Magazine.
This home offers 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, den/office, dining area and great room with a 42 inch HD TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils necessary for fine dining. The master bedroom offers a generous sized space and adjoining master bathroom with double sinks, large shower area, and walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a queen bed, HD TV and an adjacent full bathroom that allows privacy for guests.
The office/den area is equipped with a computer, printer and high speed internet access.

Enjoy late afternoon 'happy hours' and evenings on the oversized covered back patio where you can dine with meals prepared on the outdoor stainless steel gas barbeque, read, lounge or just sit and watch the Arizona sunsets! A golf cart and two bicycles are available for tenant use.

During your stay, you are eligible for 'residents rates' at the 18 hole Poston Butte Golf Course managed by Troon Golf. The 48,000 square foot Union Center for Wellness and Higher Learning offers a state-of-the-art fitness area (with onsite trainers), indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor jogging/walking track, tennis, bocce and pickle ball courts, arts and crafts rooms, and classes offered by Arizona State University Lifelong Learning Academy.

Excellent place to stay - 5 stars for sure..!

Steve & Jody were wonderful to work with. It was our first VRBO experience and their patience and excellent communication skills were much appreciated. Their rental property is absolutely wonderful and everything was as advertised. The house is beautifully decorated and truly is a home away from home. We had to contact the owners and every time they were prompt and patient with us. We will definitely look to renting from Steve and Jody again as they are excellent hosts. Ken & Sandy , Alberta Canada.

We loved our stay at this home. The house was very clean upon arrival and instructions for everything about the house, golf cart, etc. were well laid out. Steve was very good with communications and the home was well apportioned with everything you need. It was great having the golf cart and bicycles as there are many paths to use them on in the area and the development. Safeway is a short walk or cart trip away. Its a very lovely home and we look forward to renting again in the future!

Great house and location

Loved the house, location and the Sun City housing development. House was clean and well stocked with everything you could want. Very nice patio with a wash in the back (no neighbors behind the house). Recreation center was amazing. Nice gym and great pool. Lots of bike and walking paths. People in the neighborhood were very friendly. Landlord, Steve was very nice and quickly responded to any questions we had. We would definitely rent here again.

Overall - Very Good

Overall, very good & we would rent again- however there are a few areas for improvement based on our personal preferences. #1. We would prefer a rental with a King bed in the master suite. We were aware of the Queen size but would give preference to a rental with a King. #2. The overall electrical lighting in this rental is very dim...no bright lights other than in the bathrooms. Brighter lights would be welcomed, but certainly not a “show stopper”. #3. Toilets are low to the floor. For those used to more modern & taller toilets & who have flexibility issues - this is a bit of a problem, again- not a show stopper. #3. Minor but worth mentioning... Some updates need to be made to the Guest- House book to keep it current for the renter, especially as it pertains to the golf cart. Overall - a very nice rental with a wonderful backyard patio. Close to Safeway store. The owners are fabulous. They are top notch in communication from beginning to end throughout the renting process. Thank you for allowing us to give an honest overview.

Merrill Ranch

The Bernard home was beautiful and a pleasure to stay in for 2 weeks. The kitchen was fully stocked with great pots and pans and everything you would need to cook or bake. The sunsets were perfect from the wonderful patio! I would recommend this home to anyone!

It was exactly what we needed. Great area to take walks. The community pool was big and didn't feel crowded. Close to grocery, gas, and food establishments. The house had everything we needed and was beautifully decorated. I will recommend this house to family and friends.

Property was as described and in a perfect location!

We spent three weeks at this delightful location. The house was perfect for us. Great kitchen with everything you need. We used the patio and the grill almost every night. The location is close to a local grocery and a few places to eat. All of the major shopping is within 20-40 minutes of the house. Very quiet neighborhood! Country Club-style golf within 5 minutes (golf cart available). Reasonable family-style golf within a half an hour (Queen Creek). The owners were great to work with throughout the process from beginning to end. I would recommend the property and would stay there again! Thanks Steve and Jody!

This was a perfect house for the 2 months that we were here.

We were here for nearly 2 months in this beautiful home. The kitchen was well appointed with nearly everything that you could want, and of high quality. One of the best selling points was the use of the golf cart. Without it, we would have had to rent two cars instead of one, since my wife ant I seemed to always be going in opposite directions. There is a well stocked Safeway store just a stone’s throw from the house. It’s about a minute from the house in the golf cart but over two miles in the car. The patio is well equipped with furniture and a Weber barbecue that saw lots of use while we were here. Sun City Anthem at Merrill Ranch is a fabulous development. $25 gets you use of all of the facilities at the Union Center as well as resident rates at Poston Butte Golf Club which is a fabulous golf course. The residents here are friendly and there is so much going on that you have no problem staying busy. All in all, our stay was wonderful and we have already made reservations to stay at ‘Casa Bernard’ next year.

Exceeded our expectations!!!

My wife and I absolutely loved this home for si many reasons. First, the home was exceptionally clean. Their furnishings are professionally done and top of the line. My favorite perk was the golf cart and the city bikes. The location was perfect for a short ride to the 55+ community fitness center and huge pool. The championship Troon stryle golf course was a real treat. Without question we will rent this property again.

Wonderful Rental

We stayed in this home for almost five months and had a wonderful experience living there. Backing up to a wash gave us some privacy but still could meet neighbors. Very easy access to Merrill Ranch activities (wonderful people); hair and nail salons; groceries and gas; and three places to eat. The landlord was very easy to access. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone that asked.

Everything you need in a beautiful home!

While this review is a few months late getting posted, this is not intended to reflect anythng but total satisfaction with the property for the month of April, 2014. From the outset, the owners were responsive to our emails, including information on how to qualify and arrange for resident priviledges at the wonderful facilities that AMR has to offer. As other reviews have noted, the house is beautifully decorated (professionally, I believe), and has all of the modern conveniences required....good HDTV's, wifi, appliances, well-equipped kitchen, and outdoor grill, which we used extensively. The owners were also able to accomodate us with a special request once we arrived. The home is also located in a "younger section" of the community, with very friendly residents and occasionally, a "Thirsty Thursdays" get-together. And of course, the bikes and golf cart were well used, and so convenient to have. This home is highly recommended!

Beautiful home

We have rented in anthem for Three years and This is the first year in this house. The house is beautifully decorated and makes us feel at home. The owners are very wonderful people and keep in touch with You to make sure your stay here is wonderful. We will be renting herències again. T'he bikes and golf cart are just great. The house is in walking distance to Safeway.

We have traveled throughout the United States and have found Arizona to be a unique living experience providing sun and golf throughout the year.
