The house recently vacated by family is opening up to respectful guests who want to enjoy the daily workings of a horse farm or a place to escape your everyday life. Nearby wineries and restaurants. Experience the magic of Hydes and Baltimore County from our location. Need more space ? ask about adjacent bedrooms in the main hours. Well behaved dogs are considered but must be approved before booking and pay a pet fee.

A delightful property and the perfect weekend stay. Great communication with the host. Beautiful, serene county surroundings yet close to where we needed to go. Property was exactly as described and we were very pleased. We hope to return at some time in the future.

If you want a tranquil, rustic getaway, Merryland is for you. We stayed in the cottage. It was very cozy and clean. Great shower and comfy king bed. Air conditioning was great too. But the best part was the view of the property and seeing all the horses every day. Ellen was very low key and easy to work with. There’s a great diner (Sunshine Grille), a winery and a grocery store nearby. And homemade ice cream is 5 minutes away at Prigles. If there are more than 2 of you I’d recommend renting the main larger house. It was exactly what we needed to get away from our daily stressors.

A lovely countryside spot amidst friendly horses in a well sized and fitted out cottage. Can highly recommend for a getaway or occasion.

Merryland Farm is a gorgeous, sprawling property seated in the picturesque rolling hills of Maryland horse country. It was exactly what I'd hoped for and exceeded my expectations as well. Ellen could not have been a better host. The cottage is perfectly clean and full of country charm. Civilization is not far in any direction, however is avoidable if so desired. Convenient crabcake country is a bonus delight to the seafood pallette. The horses are beautiful and very sweet. If you happen to encounter the trainers, they are all extremely friendly. I recommend Merryland to anyone looking for a wonderfully unique getaway. It's not far from Baltimore either if you want a countryside escape combined with some city experiences. My daughter and I were able to bring our beloved Golden Doodle making everything perfect. Thank you Ellen so much for everything! We would love to return someday. The cottage is comfortably and conveniently equipped for any season and has Wifi.

Heaven

The property is AMAZING. The cottage is small but has everything you could need. It is quaint and charming and the wall AC units are remarkably strong. The bed was very comfortable and the WiFi was good for remote work. If you are looking for peace, quiet and beauty in nature while still being able to access the hustle and bustle, this slice of heaven is perfect.

Stay at horse farm

The host was amazing; very attentive even willing to provide tour. We lived close by for years and were back to visit family so great location as we already knew the area well. House is small as name suggests 'Cottage' wouldn't suggest more than 2 - 3 at the most. Cottage was quaint and well equipped with everything. Very quiet and safe and scenic. We would stay again if back in area

I'm a host of farm properties in Maryland and Virginia since 2010. The Cottage is just launching December 2024 and should be a great stay for anyone who loves the quiet of the country and horses.

Sunsets Sunrises the birds and wildlife around the farm and the horses of all ages grazing and growing are just some of the perks of staying on the farm. Safety, Privacy and Quiet are also the norm. The cottage, its patio and yard around it is your space to call home. Please note that during the hours of 8 am - 3pm.walks through the farm requires "giving way" (stopping for horses being led or ridden) to horses until they are safely past .
