The owner should have warned about 24/7 ear-splitting noise which began on Wednesday and continued through Sunday morning, when we left 3 days early. No hot tub. The dingy, old and broken furniture and fixtures did NOT match the photos. We spoke to the owner about the lack of a hot tub upon arrival. He blamed VRBO. The house had clearly not been cleaned prior to our stay: we dusted, shoved filthy rugs under furniture, cleared cobwebs from inside the dishes cabinet, noted dead flowers in a vase and plastic chairs on the terrace instead of nice ones. This house had seen better days! The noise included shouting, off-key singing and canned/live music blaring through bad speakers cranked to the max, soccer matches, deafening fireworks, parades, along with motorcycles, delivery trucks and construction noise as workers took down and then reconstructed stages. I am not describing the type of traffic-noise one would hear along a busy boulevard; this was like a surround-sound torture chamber. The noise level at 1 AM Sunday morning registered 80 decibles. Fireworks and construction noise began again at 5 AM.

Perfect Villa

We had an amazing stay! The house was the perfect size for us. It was really nice to have a washer and dryer on hand. There was a soccer tournament in the square just in front of the villa which was a nice surprise! The property caretaker also went out of her way to help us find someone to help us jump our rental car when the battery died. Overall we really enjoyed everything.

Beautiful and inviting

Had a wonderful and memorable time in Antigua and truly felt at home in this beautiful villa. Very comfortable and private and the quiet village helped with relaxation but also liked watching the children play soccer. Enjoyed cooking and dining on the roof, bird watching which included hummingbirds and swallows and counted four varieties of bees visiting the beautiful flowers. The good weather helped to enjoy the roof top patio for sunning, smoking or just unwinding and enjoying life. May very well return in a few years.

Accommodations very comfortable

nice walk to downtown Antigua. Less busy ,quieter , neighborhood in Antigua when celebration of the 3 kings not being celebrated with fireworks and music concert.Great tortillas and beans across plaza, wonderful staff.

Wonderful place to stay in the Antigua area.

We had a great time. Maria was always helpful and the kids had fun playing soccer in the plaza next door with the locals. Plenty of small tiendas around to get necessary supplies.

Frederick and his friends, a group of great musicians, spent a few days at my place and enjoyed their stay quite good! What I like the most was that they shared their artistic talents with simple residents of the little town of Santa Ana. This interaction mens a lot! Great guests.

Sweet Swiss/Spanish Colonial Chalet

I can’t say enough good things about Ricardo, the owner, and Ana María, the caretaker. They are prompt, courteous, and caring. The home is quaint and quirky. The area is removed a bit from the central part of Antigua, but within a 10 minute drive depending on traffic. The bedroom downstairs can be a bit noisy during peak hours and the bathroom on the first floor is shared with your guests - not en suite. Parking is so easy and safe since you park inside the condominium. The church plaza and soccer field can be lively at night, so if you are a light sleeper, bring your earplugs. The whole area exudes country charm and peaceful relaxation. Overall very happy with our stay and Ricardo’s flexibility.

Sofía and her family are great persons. They've planned way in advance and made all arrangements wisely and in advance. They stayed for a weekend but I think they actually enjoyed their staying at home and wandering around discovering different wonderful spots of the city of Antigua, Of course, they will be welcome anytime they want to pay a visitit in the future.

We'll Be Back!

Villa Santa Ana was the perfect size and location for a visit with our family in Guatemala. The house is very clean and nice, but also kid-friendly. Ana Maria was always available to help if we needed something. We loved all the activity in the square and the tiendas close by if we needed supplies. Super easy and enjoyable walk into Antigua, or easy to find a tuk tuk if you prefer. It took us a few days to realize there was filtered water in the house. It was nice to interact with the other guests in the house across the courtyard and the people in the neighborhood. We stayed for 8 days and we are thinking of a longer stay next summer.

Wonderful!

Ricardo's villa is such a great place, clean, comfortable, amazing views at the terrace, watched over 24/7 by Anna, gardian and housekeeper, with her cordial service. Santa Ana is South of Antigua, a 15 minute walk to Central Park, wonderful-historic related walk with comfortable beds, two complete bathrooms and anything you need to have a wonderful experience in Antigua. Santa Ana is quiet and a gorgeous place with its own Church (XVIth Century), near to El Calvario, and its fantastic alameda, Beatas, another wonderful complex (church, park, gardens). Ricardo is always answering to every quest and carefully aware of your needs. The price is unbeatable: I've checked other nearby places, even in other areas, and decided to stay here without a doubt. Highly recommended!
