Great location, small kitchen but we didn't need to cook so wasn't an issue. Great value for 4-6 people.

Everything was perfect! I only wish I knew if a planned ahead I could’ve paid for an early check in. We loved the place, definitely someplace I could live full time! We loved the wildlife in the pond, especially the turtles

I went here with family friends and I loved the place the owner of the property didn’t have good communication at all took an hour to get in the room but overall great place with a great view

Quick Wildlife Viewing Weekend

We needed a place to house several people as a jumping off point for the coastal NC wildlife refuges. This spot had the perfect combination of location and affordability!

August 2018 Stay

The location is perfect as it is close to everything. The layout of the home was great. The back deck overlooking the pond and the golf course was very relaxing and having access to the shuttle to get to the beach is a positive. The queen sized bed is very uncomfortable and made terrible squeeky sounds when you moved ever so slightly. The non-stick coating on the frying pans were peeling and not able to be cooked with. Because of a previous review, we thought the house was going to have a gas grill, but it was charcoal, which changed our meal plans for the week. The house was not cleaned by 4pm on Saturday and we had to wait until after 5pm to enter the home. The freezer wasn't work correctly and much of our newly purchased food went bad. VR promply addressed promptly, and a new fridge was brought to the home on Tuesday, however my husband had to be the one present at delivery as no VR representative was. Having maintaince available for fixes is nice, but it takes away from the feeling of vacation.

Rebecca, thank you for your review. Sunspot really does have the perfect location, offering a short ride to all the local attractions and restaurants the Outer Banks has to offer. I am not pleased however, to read of the issues you have mentioned from your recent stay as our guest. While we understand everyone has a different level of comfort when it comes to bedding, our operations team plans on looking into the condition of the mattress, that you felt was not comfortable. We also plan on replacing the frying pans in the kitchen as needed. Please accept our apologies for the any inconvenience you experienced during your stay, and we look forward to the opportunity to host your next Outer Banks vacation.

August 2018 Stay

We had an awesome week at the beach with perfect weather. The layout of the house was perfect for us...grandparents on the first floor and the parents and two kids on the second floor. Beds were comfortable and location was great. Thoroughly enjoyed Village Beach Club and it’s amenities. Really liked the keyless entry a lot! However, property was not particularly clean upon arrival, had sand on the floor and bathrooms were not as clean as we would have liked. The refrigerator was fine, but freezer didn’t keep food frozen and was extremely slow making ice. We had to buy ice. Wifi was pretty good upstairs, but not as good downstairs. We’re not fans of shower doors; my husband hit his head on the frame continually and they were not conducive to giving kids baths. Frame around storm door to the first floor deck was bent and door stuck on it and felt like you were ripping the door off when you opened it. The “yard” is natural and full of huge frogs singing all night. That didn’t bother us, but just good to know.

June 2017 Stay

Well, we had good and bad on our stay, mostly good. The house was nice on the inside with nice decor. The front of the house was nice with the exception of the garage door (no big deal). We were told there would be a gas grill there and when we got there, it was like a George Foreman grill. So we had to go rent one for the week because we based our meals around having a grill (an extra $65 for the week). The kitchen was well equipped and there was enough seating for everyone. While we were there, the wifi was hit or miss and didn't work 90% of the time. The bigger issues we had were the bugs inside the house. We probably killed about 10-15 spiders and various bugs. It could have been from the fact that the back yard looked like it was not cut in months. Overall it was a good house and anytime we had an issue someone was there to answer it. We would rent again from Village Realty.

While we are pleased to hear you had a mostly good stay William, we regret to hear that we did not meet your expectations on every level of your stay. With the high amounts of rain we have been having this year; it is common for natures various bugs, at times to find their way into homes. Please know we have pest control treating accordingly, no other issues with the wifi have been reported. Again thank you for sharing your experience, we look forward to welcoming you back to the Outer Banks for another great year.

Wildlife Central

The home is well maintained. Our stay was made more enjoyable with the pond in the back. We were treated to a wide variety of wildlife that used the pond. The location worked perfect for our family. Marvin
