Traditional vintage Ocean Cottage- Open Living area with knotty pine walls, laminate floors, large ocean view windows and ocean side deck with seating. Equipped Full kitchen, 1 1/2 bath plus outside shower (in the warmer months) 3 BR- 2 Doubles and four bunks . WIFI, washer/ dryer, central heat and air. Kick your feet up and relax... enjoy the sun and sand.

Rents by the week, Sunday to Sunday with shorter stays accepted during the off season.

Note- Please remember to bring your linens! (sheets and towels)

Maximum occupancy - A combination of up to 4 adults and up to 4 children but a total of only 6 people. This is for the comfort of your stay.

My wife and her two sisters spent a week at this lovely property!! Everything was just as advertised!! And they loved it!! This property was ocean front and the view was fantastic and just a short walk to the beach!! Couldn’t ask for anymore!! Our hostess Liz was fantastic!!

They house is what you see in the pictures… old school cottage… nothing fancy.. it was very clean and we loved the big windows in the front of the house to see the ocean…our family enjoyed our stay 😊

Cozy vacation home

Granted, the pictures show this is not an updated beach house but it is a cozy family home on the beach!! That was good for us. We did have some trouble with the doors not closing and locking...we played around with them every day but it was nothing to interfer with our great time together. The host was very receptive and responded quickly to questions. We would stay here again - cute and cozy and just our style. Thank You!! Cindy

Old school comfort

We were after a quaint rustic beach house right on the beach and this one delivered in spades. Super location, brought back memories of beach trips years ago. Definitely not “fancy” but true to what you see and would expect. Loved our stay.

NIGHTMARE

I was in a state of shock when I reach my first family vacation since the death of my husband. The home is in MUCH needed maintenance with the paint pealing off the front door, birds living in all the eves of the home, electrical issues, NO ICE MAKER, bathroom toilet not secured to floor and I was sure I was going to fall the to floor and I'm an older woman, the deck looks like it is going to fall in and the worst part is when you walk across the floor the whole house shakes. I was ashamed I rented such a dumb.

Great Vacation!

Awesome vacation! We enjoyed our time cottage. Everything was clean and Liz was awesome. She gave us recommendations to local restaurants and attractions. The best part is walking out the door and being on the beach in a few seconds. We hope to visit again soon.

Cute older beach home

We loved the location! Cute older home with beach interior. Had everything we needed in kitchen. Back deck was alittle old & some boards moved alittle, no patio table except a snack table. Otherwise great place to stay for the week with our dogs!

Just like we remember it

My then-girlfriend-now-wife and I stayed here 10 years ago when we needed something dog-friendly and affordable, so when this popped up in our search, we had to grab it again. Can’t beat the roominess inside and proximity to the beach. All the basics are there, and groceries are just a few minutes away. Now that we’ve reconnected with this place, it’ll be top-of-mind for beach trips going forward.

Fantastic

We had a great experience. Beautiful, clear walkway to beach and great floorplan. It is very "old school"I but that is honestly alit of the charm and I would definitely stay here again. Had some trouble with the dryer working but they provide two hang dry racks that were convenient and Liz responded to us within minutes of letting her know. The ONLY suggestions I have are updating some of the cookware such as a large frying pan and larger beds. Even in the master, there is only a double bed. Luckily I'm a petite woman because I don't know how two "regular" sized people could sleep well in a double.

Weekend Getaway

The views from this house are AMAZING! The whole beach-side of the house is windows overlooking the surf. We unfortunately had a very rainy weekend, but were still able to hang out in the house and feel like we were right on the beach. Excellent location and the owner was so wonderful to deal with.

Magical Stay

I couldn’t love this place more. The home is comfortable and cozy. I felt at home and relaxed immediately. The layout is perfect - 3 rooms and kitchen around a centralized living room area. You can see the ocean from pretty much every window in the place - while cooking or on the couch or laying in bed. The gated porch was perfect for our pups. We enjoyed sunrise and sunset everyday and spent lazy afternoons on the couch staring at the views. I’m always worried about smells like mildew or animals etc and this place did not have any odor at all. Liz was so kind and easy to communicate with, check in and out were a breeze. I walked the beach with dolphins splashing in the water beside me. It was a perfect stay. Can’t wait to come back.

Cozy and comfortable

Enjoyed our vacation immensely. It was the perfect house on the beach for our family and pets. Not sure who enjoyed it more, our dogs or us😀Weather in November was perfect! Liz is as charming as the cottage. She answered all our questions promptly, even after we had checked in.

Great classic beachhouse

Had a great time at Way Out, a classic beach house. Very comfortable, very cozy. It is as previously described, a one story classic beach house. No granite counters etc. just a homey snug beach house with fantastic views of the sunrises and sunsets. Unfortunately we cut our two week stay short due to the coronavirus with restaurants and bars closing down the 2nd week of our stay. Stay safe everyone! Perfect for our two dogs. We did bring two baby gates which worked well to insure the dogs remained on the deck. All in all a great trip and we look forward to staying longer next year. Thank you Liz!

I currently live in the NC mountains where I grew up and now feel lucky when I get to visit Oak Island. It always feels like I never left. When you visit you will feel at home too!

The cottage, called Way Out, is ocean front, has great sunrise and sunset views and is in a great location. It is in walking distance or quick drive to everything you need yet it is peaceful.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Everyone is comfy in Way Out. The knotty pine walls are reminiscent of many peoples childhood beach vacations and the leather furniture and laminate flooring make it a comfortable place to relax and know that it will all clean up, wipe up and be OK. So go ahead and spread your Seafood Bog out on the dining table, kick your feet up and watch the waves roll in or curl up and read a book.
