This was such a lovely place to stay. The house was perfect for our family. If we are ever visit North Carolina in the future, we would definitely stay here again.

Pros: great front porch with ocean views, extremely close to a beach access, good space for parking, excellent communication with host.Cons: cooling system simply could not keep up with the heat. We ultimately could not get the front half of the house cooler than 73 degrees and it was uncomfortable at times. The host was very helpful and we even had someone come out and look at the system, but we thought it was resolved a few times only for it to get really hot again.We also wanted to cook in the kitchen a few nights but with it being so hot, we didn’t want to make it hotter. It also wasn’t the best equip kitchen. This varies from house to house, but it was on the lower end of recent stays.Laundry is also down in the very bottom of the house and you have to walk through a bunch of sand to get there. Overall, this is a cute house for a one or two night stay, but for some of the reasons listed above, I don’t know that we’d do an extended stay again. We’d opt for a slightly higher price tag for a bigger kitchen, accessible laundry, and better cooling system.

Communication with host was great. First time using VRBO and we got thru it easily. House was a small cottage on the beach which is just what we were looking for. Back deck looking at the ocean was great. Dog had a great time on beach and walking thru local neighborhood

House was nice, beds were comfortable, the view was great, and the close access to the beach was awesome. Only issues were the door to the master bath didn't close and there was only 1 accessible closet (the other 3 closets were locked for owner use only).

We absolutely love Oak island and it’s our favorite vacation spot for the summer. The check in process was easy and smooth. We had a slight problem upon arrival, but the host responded quickly to my message and solved the problem in a timely manner. A few things we didn’t like however: The internet was extremely slow and probably didn’t work 40% of the time when we tried. This wasn’t a deal breaker but pretty annoying when my young kids wanted to relax and watch cartoons at night before bed. The sliding glass door to the back porch overlooking the ocean was DIFFICULT to open and close. We really had to yank on it and my 8 year old daughter could not open and close it by herself. Just got pretty annoying after the first day.There are 4 overhead porch lights on the back porch and only 1 of them would turn on, and when it was turned on it just constantly flickered. Again, not a deal breaker, but just pretty annoying because we wanted to sit on the porch at night but we just had to sit in darkness. Overall, it was a nice stay but the little things just kind of added up overtime.

Cute little house by the sea. We had a great time watching Mother Nature from the front deck. Saw hump back whales jumping full body out of the water. Amazing!!! Many dolphins and more birds than I could count. The cute little anoles on the porch wagging their heads and little red beards was a delight. The house was impeccably clean and had everything we needed. First time ever renting where soaps and toiletries included. It was great. The town is adorable the people are friendly. The kitchen had everything we needed including a k cup brewer. I would definitely rent this house again. The washer and dryer worked great. The host was easy to contact although we had zero problems and did not need her for anything. It was perfect.

We have vacationed in Oak Island for 15 years, this is absolutely the nicest place we have stayed. It is very well maintained, very clean and great amenities. The host was amazing and responded and solved any issues we had immediately.

We went for a short anniversary weekend. It was just perfect. The location was great. Can’t beat oceanfront views. House was well equipped. Comfortable seating and bedroom sets. This is a cozy home! It’s on the smaller side so it would be best for a small family or just a couple staying in.

Great little place

Very clean with great views as advertised. Property manager was super helpful and responsive. Not much closet space so just be prepared for that. Would stay again!

Break from Holiday Rush!

This house is on a restful beach behind lovely sand dunes but with access steps away. Absolutely immaculate with fantastic amenities. Turn-key vacation.
