Beautiful views, excellent location, quiet end unit, spacious. Mattresses and carpet need to be replaced. Carpet is so matted and there were burrs in the carpet that our young children stepped on. Please consider replacing with a solid surface or tile. The outside of the fridge is so rusted. The unit also smells very musty /moldy smelling. Otherwise unit was clean and well maintained.

It was very clean, but very outdated. We stayed in this condo many, many years ago and still has the same couch and carpet. The beds could use new mattresses as well. Location is great and views are amazing.

Loved our stay here.

The location was great. We loved it. There was a slight smell to the place which we assumed was because it’s so close to the ocean. The dishes were not as clean as we would have liked but just washed those ourselves. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!

Pros: Excellent check in & check out procedures. Beautiful views of the water. Great walkway for beach access. Lots of space in the condo. Nice pool. Cons: A/C was leaking into the carpet upon check in. This issue was fixed very quickly. Refrigerator did not cool well; there’s a note on the door instructing visitors to limit the number of drinks you put inside. Several door handles and latches did not function properly. Overall a nice stay for a 24 year old property.

No frills no fluff, as per other reviews. But, both back doors had issues. One didn’t lock and the other never opened, the host said a part was on order but we weren’t told until I asked how to open it. The garbage disposal stopped working on our second to last day, I informed them. Lights didn’t work in primary bathroom. The day before we left the access code to the front door stopped working so we had to reach out to get another one assigned. We were also told as we were on our way there one of the bathtubs was unusable. No big deal but we specifically wanted a 3 bd, 3 bath for a reason. We made it work. It would also be nice if there was some comfy furniture on the patio. The condo is clean. For how much it cost I wish there were at least wash cloths for every person the amount of nights you stay there. I wish they had stuff for the beach, they have ample storage for it. The host was very quick to reply when we had questions or concerns. It sleeps 8, the couch is a sleeper. We only used the bedrooms so I can’t say what the sleeper sofa is like. One of the twin beds is very used, it has a permanent mold of a body in it. The queen bed was the same. The primary bed passed with flying colors I was told. They need curtains in the guest bedrooms.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're glad to hear you found the condo clean and that our team was responsive whenever questions or concerns came up during your stay. We apologize for the maintenance issues you encountered, including the patio doors, garbage disposal, bathroom lighting, and access code. As you mentioned, the replacement part for the patio door had already been ordered, and we appreciate your patience while we waited for it to arrive. We also wanted to be transparent regarding the bathtub issue before your arrival so there were no surprises. We appreciate your comments regarding the mattresses, patio furniture, curtains, and towel supply and will share them with the team. We provide towels based on the home's maximum occupancy, and beach equipment is not listed as an included amenity. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us continue improving the guest experience, and we appreciate the opportunity to host you.

Hope for improvement

The details that make a condo so desirable that I book it often are missing here. Cooking utensils were old, worn and odd. No cooking supplies like olive oil, sugar, just basics were there. I don’t want to bring my pantry on vacation. Shower drained poorly. Twin beds and living room furniture were worn out. No dish washer detergent. The managing company said they had just received the offer it in their care and will be working with the owners to get it made more usable. I don’t plan to stay on here again. The house it below it 3001 is a great place to stay.

Run down, but still ideal for the price

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was ideal because it's on the beach, it has a pool, it is 3 bedroom/3 bathroom, and it isn't as expensive as others with those specs. So I'd definitely stay there again. That being said, it did smell bad, the exterior of the fridge was gross, there were dying cockroaches in the bathroom when we arrived, and the pillows were old and dirty looking with pillow cases that didn't fully cover them (yuck!). Also, communication about the stay was too impersonal to be accommodating. For example, you were told that check in was at 4pm, but that you'd receive a text if it was ready earlier. But you got no heads up about the chances that it would be ready earlier. So if you were driving, you either had to risk being in Port Aransas several hours before you had anywhere to go, or you had to get a text saying it was ready when you were still hours away! I would have loved to have known there was a chance, even if it wasn't a guarantee, that it would be available earlier.

NOT worth the money. Poorly managed short term rental property.

It reminded me of a young man’s first college apartment. The location away from the main part of town was the only plus to me. You can’t see the beach for the dunes though. Furniture and decorations were cheap and random af with no rhyme or reason. Curtains didn’t fit. A HUGE poisonous scorpion was on the living room floor. One about 4” was in the pool. There was a security guard that was annoyingly petty watching every move every person made and nitpicking all the guest. An older lady did the same with the pool gate and water hose for rinsing feet. The construction looked like the home owner did it with receptacles caved in, rusty nails, door jams missing plugs like it was never finished. The kitchen had bare minimum supplies and dishes cracked. I prefer staying in homes the owner takes pride in not just an investment property poorly furnished and maintained.

Lackluster

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I will first state that we've stayed at this property in the past and had a wonderful experience. The property itself is walking distance to the beach, has a nice pool, great views of the ocean, and is close to town but far enough away from crowds. We decided to upgrade from our normal 2 bedroom stay to a 3 bedroom. This was the only 3 bedroom available when we booked, and with minimal photos and reviews, we took a chance and booked this condo. In my opinion, this condo is not ready for guests, especially given the price. It's very outdated, minimally decorated, and has glaring issues including a rusty refrigerator with a note stating it can't cool more than 10 drinks at a time, a leaking guest toilet, noticeably worn and old carpeting, and incredibly scratched and warped cookware, to say the least. There are no curtains in the guest bedrooms, so it difficult for our young children to nap during the day. The living room furniture is uncomfortable but the beds were decent. If you're looking for a nice family vacation I would avoid this condo and book something else on the property. This condo needs to be greatly discounted or majorly upgraded.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to learn that this particular condo did not meet your expectations. Your comments are important, and we take them seriously. We agree that all of our rentals should meet a certain standard, and it’s clear from your experience that this unit fell short in several areas. We are currently addressing the issues you mentioned, including the refrigerator, carpeting, plumbing, and cookware. We also appreciate your note regarding the curtains in the guest rooms and will be working to improve comfort for families traveling with children. Our goal is to ensure every guest has a positive experience, and we apologize that this was not the case for you. We value your feedback as it helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to a more updated unit in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Caribbean. This place has a lot going for it. It’s spacious, lots of storage space, large kitchen, fairly new carpets and furnishings and bathrooms with modern fixtures. All appliances and the air conditioning worked well. The large porch offered a view of the ocean and beach from the top floor that was great and the access to the beach is very easy with the boardwalks over the dunes. We had a couple complaints though. One complaint was in the bedroom with the twin beds. While the beds in the master bedroom and the bedroom with the queen bed were quite comfortable, we felt both mattresses on the twin beds in the other bedroom needed to be replaced. One of the beds was merely uncomfortable, the other bed was too uncomfortable to sleep in. Fortunately, our party was small enough that we didn’t need to use that bed. The mattresses on both beds were not at all firm and had collapsed in the middle of the mattress.Another complaint. The porch was a great place to spend time to view the sunrise in the morning and to relax and enjoy the ocean breezes in the evening. But the hard straight-backed chairs on the porch were uncomfortable enough to diminish somewhat the enjoyment this nice porch has to offer. Some cushions would have greatly increased the pleasure of relaxing on the porch. As we said earlier, this place has a lot going for it. These complaints could be easily corrected, and would make the experience there even more enjoyable

Everything was great. The only reason for the 4 stars was the golf cart issue. We called them before booking and were told there is access for carts, so we booked and booked a cart as well. After the deposit became non-refundable, we were given policies that included no carts. The whole situation was far less than ideal. Golf carts are not allowed to park in the parking lot at all, not even for visitors, and they monitor it regularly. There is plenty of room in the parking lot for any number of carts. It is a golf cart town; there are golf carts on the surrounding properties, and there is a golf cart access bridge to the beach that is only for residents of the surrounding properties. I think they would do well to work out a deal that allows carts at the condo. I will say, though, that they are not needed to enjoy the property and the beach.
