We loved staying on this property. It was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. We appreciated having AC at night. The pool area is also very clean and a great place to relax after adventuring during the day. If you are outside at night, you might even see bats catching bugs off the pool. It is also in a great location near Marino Ballena National Park The host was helpful and very responsive. We loved the unofficial greeter, a calico cat that lives on the porch. She is incredibly sweet. We would definitely stay here again.

Slice of paradise!

Everything from booking through checkout was easy and low stress. The location is great and the space is quiet and cozy, with the exception of the tons of macaws flying over in the morning which we found to be wonderful! The marine park is a few minutes away and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. I would definitely stay again if I return to this area.

Great little casita

Wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days in November 2020. The property lives up to the great reviews. We loved the little town and its quiet vibe. The property is well equipped and, quiet and private. If we ever return to the area, this will be our first choice in a place to stay!

Love the privacy

This was a great place for my husband and I to stay and explore the area. Loved that it has a private pool and the wildlife we encountered. If I had to give and recommendations, it would be to have better knives as we like getting fresh foods and cooking at home.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. It is well situated and decorated. The pool is wonderful and the flowers around also. We recommend Ocean Melody to everyone. Thank you for your hospitality. :)

Wonderful!

The house was exactly as advertised and communication was great. We enjoyed all of the nature right from our porch! The proximity to Parque Nacional Marino Ballena was awesome - stunning scenery. Everyone we encountered was kind and friendly. Highly recommend Carlitos restaurant and Que Tuanis Cafe. We would have enjoyed having a car to explore other places, but not having one forced us to really relax and the natural wonders of the area!

Perfect stay

We have been to Ocean Melody several times and it's been wonderful each & every time. The area in Uvita is close to the Whales Tale and great hike to waterfalls. The house has everything you need. Perfect cabin for a couple and beautiful clean pool and tropical garden in the back yard. The new colourful cushions on all the furniture was lovely. We really took advantage of the pool to cool off or lay in the hammock & watch the monkeys playing in the trees through our binoculars.

Outside paradise !

Absolutely amazing outdoor areas.. beautifully done and right in the middle of a tropical paradise. Perfect for 2 people. Loved having the pool and outside shower. The bike option was great. Took the bikes to beach and local sodas. Even in the evening rain on porches you stay dry. Would definitely stay here again :) and great communication!

Quiet hideout in Bahia(Uvita)

We had a wonderful 3 weeks at Ocean Melody. Very private property with lovely swimming pool and Veranda. If you want to relax, this is your place. Great Beach within walking distance. Howler monkeys wake you up in the morning and arrive in the trees in the back yard in the afternoon. Massi is very easy to reach and responds to any issues in a timely matter. We would definitely stay at Ocean Melody again!

A Warm and Welcoming Jungle Retreat

Ocean Melody is perfect for a memorable get away to Costa Rica. We had fund riding the bikes around Uvita with visits to the market , restaurants and the ocean. Enjoyed the yoga in the area. The birds, iguanas and monkeys were our daily visitors. My favourite activity was swimming in the ocean early mornings and at sunset. Massi was most responsive to any questions we had. Great experience.

Serene and beautiful paradise.

The property is spectacular! What sets this place apart is the beautiful outdoor space. Wrap around covered deck with couches, chairs, and tables. It has ceiling fans and recessed lighting everywhere! Perfect for hot and humid days and also for rainy days and nights. The back of the property is it's own wonder with natural and manicured native plants. The private pool is clean and we'll maintained. There is a locked entrance for security and privacy so it really gives you the feeling it's your own place. The inside is modest, but has all the amenities and comforts you want. The AC unit in the bedroom coupled with the fans cool of the entire home. The town is quite, charming and off the grid compared to up North. A lot more of an authentic vibe with way less tourists. I can't recommend this place enough!

Not quite what we expected

I guess the pictures are pretty accurate, but still, we didn't expect the house to be as small and rustic as it is. Think of it as a cabin in the woods. Outside area was nice and the pool was well maintained and good to have. The stove is tiny and rickety. Bicycles were very basic so we did not even try using them. Hot water in the shower had a problem cycling hot and cold, but the manager was able to rectify that. The local road to the house was like cobblestone and very rough and surrounding area did not feel very safe but the privacy gates and locks added comfort. Don't expect to sleep in -- the neighborhood likes to begin work in the morning (pounding on metal, grinding, working on cars, etc.) around 6am every day.

Hi Brett, what about paying more and get a property that suits you well? It is very easy to be cheap and make critics...Ocean Melody is exactly a cottage in the jungle, what were you expecting? Complaining of the road is ridicolous, this is considered a very good road in Costa Rica. And about sleeping...well it may happen that there are works in the neighborhood which we can't control, but why did you chose a house in the middle of a town? Anyway you have been annoying since the first minute of your booking, so I was not expecting much more than this from you.. Thanks anyway. Massi

“Paradise in the Clouds”

First off, we already truly miss this place, wiSh this place was our home, unbelievable… what a blessing, heaven on earth and nature in its purest and finest form… simply beautiful, breathtaking views, sounds and smells. Danny the host is ThE best, very welcoming, super friendly and can help you with anYthing you need! Pura Vida Danny!!! I could go on for days about this review. You’ve done an amazing job with this place and location… we will be back!

A REAL GEM

The inside of the cabin is as described. Small, very clean and functional. The outside decks and pool turn this into a 5 star accommodation. A true paradise in a rainforest setting. The huge wrap around deck is where we spent most of our time. It was difficult to pull ourselves away from the wildlife that showed up each day. Two kinds of monkeys, a sloth, scarlet macaw’s. iguanas and multiple birds visited thefts back yard each day. Our only disappointment was the 12.00 per day charge per person to get into the national park and the beach. A beautiful beach to be sure, but expensive for daily visits. Massi is the most responsive owner we have experienced. You can count on him to help out with anything you need. A fabulous visit to the cabin and the area. Don’t miss this one.

Hola Karen, thank you so much for your review even if the commentary about the National park is not corresponding to the truth....I know you are aware of the mistake and wanted to amend it on VRBO, but after submitting a review you can’t change it anymore. So, I'm going to specify here that the entrance fee for non residents is $6/person (NOT $12) and that children under 11 and people over 65 do not pay any fee. Perfect 1st stop on our CR vacation!

Loved this little place... close to Parque Nacional Marino Ballena which is an amazing place ($6 fee per adult per day but worth it!). Lots to explore in the area. Massi's place was perfect home base and respite during the afternoon rains (we visited during the rainy season in August). The back porch is fantastic and we spent most of our time at home either here, in the pool, or sleeping. The pool, by the way, is the cleanest pool we think we have ever seen and perfect refreshing temperature. Loved, loved, loved our stay. Thanks, Massi!

Pura Vida in a piece of paradise

My husband & I had an exceptional stay & we loved every minute of it. We had everything we need to enjoy a great home base for our first time adventure in Costa Rica. I am hesitant to leave an even better review because I don't want the price to go up & I want the property to be available next time we want to stay! Every thing is as pictured (although the pictures do not do justice). The property is comfortable, clean, beautiful and well stocked with everything you would need. We felt very safe and at home.
