Welcome to Benison Place, a peaceful all inclusive 1-bedroom apartment with WiFi

Welcome to this enchanting apartment in Dorr. Located in the basement of our home, the apartment has its own entrance and is fully independent of the rest of the house, with no shared spaces. The private accommodation features one bedroom with antique furnishings, including an extra comfortable full-size mattress and a lovely en-suite bathroom with shower. Additional living room/kitchen area includes a comfy fold down futon and child-sized easy-chair pullout. Guests enjoy amenities like AC, WiFi, a fully stocked kitchen, and washing machine/dryer during their stay. Make use of outdoor seating to enjoy the garden right out your door, and keep an eye open for the wildlife plentiful in our area: Whitetail deer, wild turkey, red-winged blackbirds, and Sandhill cranes are all regular visitors. Immerse yourself in the peaceful ambiance of this charming retreat. We hope you enjoy what our place and West Michigan has to offer.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the host was very responsive. Great little get away. We enjoyed the chickens and goats as well.

It was the perfect middle ground for Shelbyville where we attended a wedding and Grand Rapids where we had the rest of our fun! Plus the farm animals were a very welcomed bonus.

Very clean, great communication, loved the fresh eggs, very relaxing was just what we needed. Beautiful place, very clean, and cozy. Would love too come again and stay a week or more. . Loved the goats and chickens. They reminding me of living on the farm when I was younger.

What a wonderful place to stay. Our host welcomed us with fresh eggs from their hens with a sweet note welcoming us. They offered us fresh herbs from their garden, provided everything we needed for cooking, reading, relaxing. The suite/apartment has a big bathroom, comfy bed, dresser for clothes, lots of closet space. It’s adorable.

We're both West Michigan natives, and share interests in both science and the humanities: Ben is a scientist and Hope is a librarian. We love participating in choral music opportunities at our church, and we are avid outdoor enthusiasts.
Our home is located on the family farm where Hope grew up, and carries many memories. The decor for the apartment includes a cottage core European vibe with a special nod to Ireland, where Ben and Hope spent their honeymoon.
We've been guests of spectacular hosts all over the world in our travels, and it's a thrill to now offer this accommodation to others.

We soak up the peacefulness of our location daily, and hope this will be a blessing to our guests as well. It's so convenient to be within driving distance of three major cities of West Michigan - Kalamazoo, Holland, and Grand Rapids. We get to choose whether to dig deep into our country roots, or go enjoy a sophisticated night on the town - and our guests have that same choice!

The views are spectacular, and the privacy is unbeatable. We love our home, and it shows in many little details we hope will bring joy to our guests as well. We have a startup hobby farm with accompanying roadside stand, and we welcome requests for a tour. The cats, pups, goats, ducks, and chickens add a lot of interest and fun to our lives!
