Welcome to Magnolia Acre, a historic, 1920’s farmhouse just down the road from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This updated and unique home is the perfect place for your next stay in Chapel Hill or Carrboro. Bringing the pups? They’ll love the fenced in backyard or a walk around the neighborhood. Shoot some hoops on the provided basketball goal, bike over to the Planetarium or take a quick bus ride to Kenan Stadium or the Dean Dome. There is also a public park merely steps away!
Magnolia Acre is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath 1920’s farmhouse with an open concept living/ kitchen area and lots of character.
Primary bedroom: King bed, dresser, large closet, gas logs, 42” smart tv, and a private bathroom with a walk-in jetted shower and farmhouse sink.
Bedroom 2: twin-over-twin bunk bed with integrated stairs and storage, dedicated workspace with usb port and wireless phone charging, small closet. Note: top bunk has 150lb weight limit for safety.
Bedroom 3: Queen bed, antique armchair, small closet, antique light fixture
Bathroom 2: antique cast iron tub/shower combination, small pedestal sink, vintage tile
Living Room: Full sleeper sofa, 50” smart tv, electric fireplace, two tray tables
Kitchen: stocked with cookware, bakeware, and plenty of dishes, updated appliances including a gas range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator, lots of counter and prep space, a dual coffee maker with carafe and kcup capability, and a live edge bar top with seating for 2
Laundry: located indoors, includes full sized washer and dryer, iron, small ironing board
Front yard: front porch swing and two rocking chairs.
Backyard: fully fenced with drive through gate and room for parking, picnic table, basketball goal.
Additional features: Magnolia Acre has been well loved and cared for, recently updated and inspected, however guests should keep in mind that it still contains the quirks and character expected of a 100 year old farmhouse. The hardwood floors have been preserved, yet they may bow and creak. The primary bathroom was updated in 2020, yet the second bathroom contains a vintage cast iron tub and tile. An antique, working wind gauge sits atop the home, along side an old-time lightning rod system. We’ve included all the amenities one has come to expect with a modern space, while preserving the character of this home as best we could. We hope our guests enjoy finding the little details and curiosities around the property as much as we have!
Nearby: Carrboro’s Dr Martin Luther King Jr public park with community garden, dirt bike track, trails and playground, only .2 mile walk away!
Access through keyless entry system. Guests have private use of the entire home including the spacious front yard and 1/2 acre fenced in back yard with drive through gate. Entire property sits on one full acre.
Outdoor amenities (fire pit, grilling area) coming soon!
We are local hosts but plan to give you privacy during your stay. Access is granted using a keypad lock for convenience.

Please do not cause our neighbors to call us. They are lovely, and we would like to keep it that way! :)
- Only one person allowed on top bunk, for safety.
- No rough play on the bunk beds, for safety.
- Report any damage or maintenance issues to hosts immediately.
- No loud music or parties without host permission.
- Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am.
- Failure to follow check-out procedure may result in additional cleaning fees.
Pet Specific Rules:
- Magnolia Acre is a pet-friendly property with a fenced in yard, but please make sure the area is safe for your specific size pet. Very small pets could squeeze under the drive-through gate if not supervised.
- Use the fenced in back yard at your own risk - we will not be held responsible for break-outs or pet injuries (we have never had an incident and expect to keep it that way!)
- No pets are allowed on any furniture.
- Town ordinance requires pets be leashed at all times when outdoors (with the exception of the fenced in yard, of course!)
- Pets should be disclosed at the time of booking. If you decide to bring a pet at a later time, please let us know so we can modify the booking and assess the $50 pet fee. The pet fee is charged by our cleaners, and bookings not disclosing a pet where one is found on property will be assessed the pet fee of $50 plus an inconvenience fee of an additional $50 ($100 total)
