Excellent place to stay. The check in and check out process was also relatively seamless with the management company being responsive as well.

My son and I came down on his college fall break to get in a little fishing on the pier and beach. This was the perfect place to do just that. All we had to do is walk out of the house and over to the beach. We had a great stay and would recommend anyone wanting convenient beach access to give this place a try.

Unbeatable location!

We enjoyed our stay at A Writer's Reef! If you're planning to spend most of your time on the beach, you can't beat being a few steps away. This cozy accommodation provided a very comfortable stay for our few nights at North Topsail. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing home, location, and customer service! We loved being so close to the beach, especially with the private community entrance. The unit was very clean upon arrival, and the layout was great, particularly on rainy days. The primary bedroom bed and sheets were hands down one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on during a vacation. The large couch in the living room was a favorite for our family movie nights!We also loved how close we were to the pier. During our week-long stay in January, we found over 1,000 shark teeth! Communication with both the rental company and the owner was fast and efficient when needed. We would be happy to stay here again!

The cutest little spot

My family of five had the best time and loved our stay! It was a quaint little home with beach access steps away! I’m already trying to convince my husband to let me book it again for next year! :)

Overall, the price for this rental was not appropriate for the condition and lack of cleanliness (and amenities) of the beach house. We were almost seriously injured by dangerously broken (jagged) glass, and filthy cookware in the cupboard. Sheets seemed to be clean but upstairs ledge looked like wasn’t dusted in years. The upstairs ceiling had large crack from which emerged a mammoth cockroach. Check in was a disaster- took us nearly an hour to get a code that worked to enter rental. For a 6 night stay we were given 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 people. No beach towels, shampoo, or soap for showers provided. Dirty furniture, dirty floor upstairs. We were not able to clean the house properly as there was no extension duster, and no functional vacuum (battery worked for only 30 seconds & wouldn’t recharge and although we notified rental company they ignored us.). Overall, a beach house without beach towels should be a warning to anyone. The rental company have you jump through numerous hoops, sign seemingly endless documents, and then had us do it all over again a second time while on route to the property before giving us an access code to get in. Even then, the code didn’t work. Set the tone for the entire visit.

Everything was perfect. The absolute cutest vacation house, directly on the beach. My kids had a blast and I got to relax. If I had any questions, the host responded immediately. Could not recommend more strongly - I plan to stay here again next year!
