The boat was perfect. Shawna was a great host and very understanding. Restaurants were walking distance and very good. One of the restaurants had an enclosed playground for the kid's! Very quiet and relaxing. Will definitely go back!

What a fantastic experience for a private retreat! The restaurants nearby are absolutely wonderful, the staff is so welcoming, and our host took care of all our needs. Bed was super comfortable, and the tv’s for football was a huge BONUS! The only downside was the boat parked right in front of the Decatur, blocking our water view when we tried to soak up some sun. Other than that I would recomend booking this place NOW!!!

Im so glad you enjoyed your stay! Just an FYI, I'm moving Decatur the beginning of October to a riverfront slip. She'll be right next to my other boat. Great view of the river!

Beautiful location…and some of the best food we’ve experienced in a long timeVery very relaxing. Hostess is one of the most gracious we’ve encountered.

We were in Madisonville for the boat show. Staying on this beautiful boat was the “cherry on top.” Right on the river, good restaurant close by and the event was in walking distance. Loved our stay!

Everything was PERFECT !! for this special "reunion" weekend trip (Connie & Bob) to the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival! Communication with the Vrbo Host (Shawna) was EXCELLENT !!. Thank you Shawna!! The Decatur was GREAT!! Extremely clean!! In Perfect Condition with everything we needed! The mooring docks of the Sawmill Docks Marina (where the Decatur is docked) are actually connected to the docks of The Anchor Restaurant and the Tchefuncte's Restaurant. Convenient is an understatement!! The Festival was on the other side of the restaurants and stretched the entire length of Water Street. The walk was maybe 1 minute!! This was the 35th Annual Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival. . . VERY organized and the security and traffic planning from the VERY POLITE St Tammany Sheriff's Office was IMPECTABLE!! The "Wooden Boats" on display were Unbelievable! Hard to imagine the effort required to create such "Marine Masterpieces" !! The Festival had more vendor's than you can imagine, all unbelievably polite and selling high quality Everything!! Connie & I were super pleased with Everything!!! and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Vrbo Property and the host Shawna!! . . . ps. Please accept my apologies for using so many exclamation marks in the review!! Should have use more!!

A unique stay that was delightful. Stayed during the week so the marina and river were quiet. Shawna was excellent to work with and quickly answered and resolved my minor issues. This is an older boat in good condition, bed was very comfortable. Sunsets, sunrise and a full moon were an added bonus!

Unique, fun, great location

Boat is super charming, marina was quiet and central located to excellent restaurants and grocery stores. River traffic was heavy on the weekend but boaters respected no wake zone, making the boat pretty solid with very little movment, which was a concern for me. Out hoat was super helpful and easy to contact when needed.

This was a really unique, fun, charming place to stay. Definitely different than a normal VRBO rental and we loved the change of pace. It's an older boat, well maintained and in good condition. Very clean and had everything we needed for a few night stay. We were here in November, so I can attest that the heaters work great. I was concerned that river noise and wakes would be an issue, but they were not. The boat was docked in a well-protected location, so just a pleasant rocking with the breeze.Shawna is very helpful and responds to communications immediately. She had texted photos to help us find the docking location for our arrival and that was extremely helpful as we were looking for the location after dark. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a unique place to stay. Just be aware that (of course) quarters are somewhat tighter on a boat than in a house.
