This five bedroom cottage sleeps 12 in beds with room to sleep even more. There are four bathrooms all with showers. The kitchen is very spacious and beautiful with corian countertops, stainless steel appliances and tile floor. This is a two story cottage with the master bedroom upstairs overlooking the lake. A large entertaining area with a snack bar and kitchen area are also upstairs with an awesome view of the lake. The room also has leather couches, a flat screen TV, stereo system and a large bathroom. Its a great spot to hang out and enjoy the view.

Off of the kitchen is a cement porch area with tables and chairs and a grill. A grassy front yard leads to a lovely deck which has chairs and also a picnic table. Two steps down is the water. There is a sandy beach area that is around eight feet before leading to shallow water.

The house is available in the off-season for long-term rentals.

Great Lakefront Stay

Our family of adults and children had a blast. We enjoyed our private beach, kayaks and paddleboat. Unlike many other rentals in Southwest MI, this house is situated within a 5-15 minute drive of so many family friendly activities like the Musical Fountain, Tanglewood Park, many local parks, the Lakeshore Trolley and lots of great shopping for those who love to browse! You won't be disappointed.

Lovely lake cottage, near everything!

Cottage was perfect for our larger group. Four generations spanning age 5 to 91. We needed a first floor that had accessible bathroom and bedroom, plus room to move around with a walker. The two living spaces-one up and one down worked great! Littles could be up and olders down! Two kayaks available and boat rental nearby. Lake is a bit weedy, but there is a public access right down the road-walking distance-that is well groomed. Short distance to Grand Haven beaches and restaurants. Large frig, two kinds of coffee maker, all the kitchen basics you need! Lovely patio with lots of seating, easy access to lake with nice sandy beach for the kids. Sunsets were spectacular! Deck area down by the water made viewing delightful. Kitchen had lots of plates, glasses and silverware (which is VERY atypical for VRBO properties we have stayed at). We absolutely loved staying here! Plan to go again next year if possible!

Perfect Location and met needs of the family

This was our first full family vacation and we could not have picked a better location. We had a beach for the children to play at right out of the home. It had a full dock if we had a boat. Each family had their own bedroom and full bathroom. We were minutes away from Grand Haven where there were lots to do and see and we even spent a day in Grand Rapids with the grandchildren. Our only recommendations would be if you plan on cooking a lot bring some of your own measuring cups and spoons. There were 8 adults and 2 small children and we did a lot of meals there. The pictures of the home don't seem to capture the beauty of the lakehouse. We enjoyed the week long stay and hope to make it back!

Nice stay in Spring Lake

My husband and I had a great stay at this home in Spring Lake. The view of the lake and evening sunsets were fantastic! Very convenient location. Easy to get to Grand Haven, Holland, Muskegon and even Grand Rapids. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location!

This large property is lake front on a quiet street with a beautiful view including mature trees that provided shade, and a semi-private sanded beach front with a pier for docking a boat, jet skis, etc. We enjoyed the local quiet area neighborhood too, with a nearby (walking distance) park with playground and 8 pickleball courts. We brought bikes and enjoyed biking on the trails. Our family (grown children and some spouses) including two little ones stayed and there was plenty of space and quiet. The 3 bedrooms on the main level (and two full separate bathrooms) and two bedrooms on the upper level -one with a connected full bath provided ample space. it was hot during our stay, but the AC worked well in the home. There is also a large family room/kitchen area on the upper level with a large full bathroom connected to it. The decor is a little dated but that adds to the older charm of it. The host was very responsive when we had a few minor issues/questions. Easy drive to many attractions/activities and conveniences including nearby Grand haven. Highly recommend!

Family Vacation on the Lake

very nice location on lakefront property. well cared for home with plenty of sleeping quarters and bathrooms. Beautiful lake view.Unfortunatly our weather was cold and we could not do as much outside but we had a great time here . The area is beautiful and we all look forward to a return visit. Thanks to the very accommodating home owners for allowing us to gather at their home.

Perfect lake house for family fun

This house is much larger than it seems in the pictures. The lake was perfect for skiing, wakeboarding and tubing. Beautiful view and perfect home layout. The owner was very tentative and the neighbors were so friendly. Great location with small downtown spring lake within walking distance and Grand Haven just a few miles away. Highly recommend staying here.

EVERYONE wants to go back!

It's not often that THE WHOLE FAMILY loves the same thing. Bernie's Place was a home run. Brenda was very helpful in answering all our questions and introducing us to the area. Three generations gathered, four family units. And the house had plenty of room for all to sleep, eat, play, relax, and find a quiet corner when needed. The two decks face the sunset. Glorious. Most of our time was outdoors, swimming, jumping off the dock, using the paddle boat and kayaks and our sailboat in Spring Lake. There are excellent restaurants and shops in Spring Lake which has a small town feel. We loved The Village Baker. For everything else you need, Grand Haven has it. We loved the downtown area of shops and free museum. It is only 10 minutes to the Grand Haven State Park and Lake Michigan. Thank you, Brenda, for sharing your home.

Lovely multigenerational vacation spot

This was a great deal for the excellent location. We were within walking distance of downtown Spring Lake where they have a nice Ice Cream parlor and bakery, where we biked with our grandkids. The beach is great with a sandy bottom, perfect for swimming. The kids spent literally hours in the lake. The location is also perfect for taking day trips to Grand Haven and Hoffmaster Park/ beach. Brenda was very accommodating after we lost a couple of chairs in a storm. She even gave us a couple of her own plastic Adirondack chairs to replace them. All three generations had a very nice time making memories at Bernies’s Place.

Very nice place

Owner was very responsive. There were some issues with a clogged sink and dishwasher but she had plumbers out there the next day to take care of it. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away with a group of people.

Wonderful vacation home!

We had the most lovely time at Bernies place! Great location, close to downtown Grand Haven with a lot to do! Kids had so much fun swimming and jumping off the dock. We rented a pontoon boat and explored Spring Lake and a bit of the Grand River. Ample room for our 4 families and kids! We hope we can return in the years to come. Brenda was a wonderful host with great communication. The neighbors were also very friendly. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!

Great place

We have a family of 14 that has stayed here twice. 8 adults and 6 kids. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. Beautiful lake just out back. Quiet, friendly neighborhood. Paddle boat and kayaks included with a nice dock. Highly recommend checking it out

Beautiful spot on a fabulous lake

We had a wonderful week on Spring Lake - rented a pontoon from Grand Haven Boat Rental, swam, kayaked, took long walks on the community path, enjoyed home cooked meals on the breezy patio, took the easy drive into Grand Haven a couple times (FYI - no nightly fountain show right now), shopped, visited farmers markets, picked up pizza, pretzels and delightful desserts from The Village Baker ... overall a great vacation week with many family memories made!

Awesome location!

We enjoyed our stay, the owner was responsive. The bike trails are amazing and going to the State Parks to swim was great. Due to the high water, swimming in the lake wasn't the best, lots of seaweed. There were kayaks and a paddleboat that were really fun. Kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed.

Perfect week

We loved our week at Bernie’s Place. We spent every day on the water between the kayaks and swimming off the dock and little beach. The location of this home is perfect for watching the boats go by. The house is so spacious and clean with a well-stocked kitchen. We loved sitting on the patio or deck and watching the beautiful sunset each night. And Brenda was so friendly and helpful making sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Another great stay at Bernie's Place!

Brenda was super helpful and friendly with all issues, even coming to the property to help us retrieve a paddleboat for the kids. Property was in great shape, water was warm, unbeatable location -- highly recommended!

Great Great Great!!!!!

Bernie's Place was perfect for our family. The house was roomy, clean, and well-equipped. The beach was perfect for the grand kids and the dock and jet ski lifts accommodated our water toys (boat & jet skis). Brenda's communication about questions or concerns was excellent. Great location on the lake. Could not ask for anything more. We will definitely be back!!!!!
