This perfect Nanthttps://admin.vrbo.com/lm/321.462054.1045165/description.html#ucket vacation rental is very accessible to town, situated close to open parks and charming lanes and across from America's oldest working windmill, which was built in 1746 by Nathan Wilbur. The bike paths and shuttle bus are accessible across the street. This three-plus bedroom (additional sleeping area) is well maintained and nicely decorated. Relaxed and comfortable and very suitable for multiple generational families or couples. Private yard with two patios and an outside shower. Off-street parking for two cars. Sleeps, eight people.

First Floor: Kitchen with breakfast bar and separate dining area; a separate sitting room with flat-screen TV adjacent to the kitchen. There are two bedrooms (Queen & Full) on this level that share a hallway bathroom with a tub and shower.

Lower Level:
Queen bedroom en-suite with oversized shower. Bunk: Twin bed over full bed Washer/ Dryer

Great trip! The immaculately clean house is very well-equipped, and very nicely and "cozily" decorated. Comfortably fit two adults (with our own bathroom), two teenagers (in an ideal-for-them attic "retreat"), and two young adults (in their own rooms) for the week, with room to spare. Beds and bedding very comfortable. Pleasant and easy-to-navigate walks to town, to coffee shops, and shuttles. Nice outdoor space for a meal, reading, or chatting. Excellent washer/dryer with supplies less to pack. Communication was clear, the house was ready for us right on time, and check-out expectations were completely reasonable. One note to know: the abutting street is a busy one, and the hospital (with helipad) is nearby, so it's not the quietest retreat you'll ever take. But the tradeoff for an efficient space for a decent-size group...and access to town...worked very well for us. After all, we were out and about most days, enjoying the rest of the island!

Disappointing

Although the house is well located even though it’s at a busy intersection, many things about it disappointed us. It is quite small and we felt it was not comfortable for our group of 6. It’s better for 4 or if absolutely necessary 5 people. ( the listing says sleeps 8) The couch only seats 5 people and there are no chairs for additional seating! The kitchen has high top stools and the “dining area” , which is not air conditioned, has a bench and some built in seating. Very cramped. The main floor 2 bedrooms are small and share a tiny bathroom . The basement bedroom has a private bath, but the additional sleeping space is open to the basement. The attic has steep steps. There are no hooks anywhere to hang wet towels , except maybe one in a closet. Recycling is confusing since there are 2 different set of instructions and the trash cans in the house have no markings to help out. Overall, this was not what we had expected from such a costly rental.

I was very disappointed with this family , on the second day l received an email saying a toilet was blocked and went straight over to find the toilet completely filled with paper ! Then after they had left l entered a bedroom and could immediately smell urine and the cleaners showed me a pile of urine soaked linens and a soiled bed with no attempt to clean so l had to throw all the linens out . Then l checked the trash to find 20 bags of mixed trash even though there were clear instructions to separate all trash so l had to do all this by hand myself. Will not be renting to these people again .

Very nice place to stay walking distance to town and the marina. We used the grill almost daily, yard was nice to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Great location and everything you need!

We had a wonderful time at this property! It is well equipped with everything you need for a vacation in Nantucket. The location is wonderful - though on a busy road, you can easily walk to town. Nice private back yard! Working with Giles was easy and he was very responsive. The quality of the items for your use is very good. Great hosts, great property.

Can not recommend this house enough, great size, extremely clean, plenty of towels and clean sheets, extremely thoughtful owner, we will be back!

Great location and plenty of space for friends and fam

Well situated house with everything needed to enjoy all Nantucket has to offer. Would definitely stay here again.

Well located house for groups

The house is will located on the outskirts of town. Easy access to anywhere on the island. While only two full bathrooms inside, the outdoor shower was convenient for hosting a group. Plenty of towels and linens.

48 York Street

The house was quite clean and well set-up on our arrival. Giles was quite easy and quick to communicate with, and responded quickly to minor questions and issues (like burned-out light bulbs - nothing major). Heavy duty washer and dryer were quite useful for a large group. Kitchen had a good supply of utensils and appliances. The house is within easy walking distance of town (< 1 mile). Like most houses of its vintage, we found a shortage of plugs for phones, etc, which we solved by buying an outlet extender. The only concern I had with the house was the stairs to the upper and lower levels; both seemed fairly steep to me and had several feet with no hand rail or wall to grab on to.

Great Location

This house was great, it's in a central location and we really enjoyed our stay. The home is right on the bike path and was an easy bike/walk into town. The backyard is also great and has everything we needed (table, grill, etc.). We enjoyed sitting outside for dinner. The outdoor shower is also a plus. Giles was very responsive, kind, and helpful throughout our stay. The room in the basement does not have AC, which was a little uncomfortable for us, but we had a great time in this home otherwise. We would still recommend the home.

Fabulous house, great location!

House was fabulous. Spotlessly clean, had everything we needed. Right on the bike path, easy access to town and beaches! Cannot not say enough good words for how responsive Giles was, he is a wonderful host! Can’t wait to visit again!

Great place in centrally located part of the island!

Very nice, clean and spacious. Close to walking and biking trails and easy walk to town. Highly recommended.

Beautiful and immaculate house!

We could not have been more pleased with this lovely house! Our kids (ages 8, 6 & 3) all had a great time in Nantucket as well as at the house. It is roomy, very nicely kept and had all of the amenities you could ask for and more! Would love to rent again during our next stay in Nantucket! Thank you Giles!

Home away from home on Nantucket

This rental has everything you could think of for a home away from home, a number of seating areas ideal for curling up with a book or watching TV/DVD. Outside grill perfect for those after the beach BBQ's, great laundry facilities in the basement and beautiful patio. The bedrooms on different levels gives everyone their own space. Location is ideal, makes it possible to visit without a car with the bike path and bus stop across the street. How unique to have the oldest working windmill to look out at. I loved the breakfast bar in the kitchen, meant we could have hang out while preparing and cooking dinner. I will definetly be back to savour this gem again
