The sleeping, dining, and reclining area flow together in this open concept cabin that was built to showcase an 1830's fireplace. Now, a heater-AC unit keeps the cabin comfortable, and a ceiling fan stirs a breeze. The sleeping area has a queen bed, a twin trundle bed, his and her separate reading lights, and all windows have privacy curtains and or shades for easy sleeping . The 2 recliners let you enjoy the peaceful view through a large picture window. You can prepare a delicious meal in the kitchenette that has a stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, slow cooker, blender, plates and utensils. Dine indoors or enjoy the country breeze at the patio table. The cabin layout was designed for individuals with mobility issues. For example, the bathroom has a wide, sliding door, no-step walk-in shower with overhead, body, and wand spray, and a large bench. Also, the entrance to the cabin has double doors with a low threshold. The doors open outward under a portico to allow maximum space inside. The brick walkway and patio are easily accessible from the parking area.
Whether you are just passing through or enjoying the weekend at the lake, we have hook ups for boats and 50 amp hook up for RVs.

Preguntas frecuentes
Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Keith Novotny
My Wife and I saved the chimney and fireplace from a historic 1830's cooks Quarters, and built this unique timber framed cabin from almost all reclaimed material. The cabin showcases the many years of history, craftsmanship, and materials from across the country. Some material from the original cottage, and a few tobacco barns from the property are reused in the timber framing, siding, and the headboard on the queen bed is the original door to the cottage. An original Carriage house from Henderson was salvaged and can be seen in the use of the cornices on the eves and as the base to the bathroom vanity. An old farm house in Oxford that was slated to be burned can be seen in the hardwood flooring for the ceiling, the bead-board used as Waynes coating, and various trim work. The trim around the bathroom door came from salvaged materials to a local florist shop Betty B's. Historic railroad plates are accented on the timber joints, and the track on the sliding bathroom barn door came from an old school bus depot from Wisconsin. We hope we made the space comfortable, and also easy enough to sit back and appreciate the history and dedication that so many people before us put into their lives.
