Welcome to Rocky’s Cabin at the House of Beaver
Just one block off Main Street, this cozy historic log cabin is within walking distance of Talkeetna’s rivers, restaurants, and shops.
Built in the 1928, Rocky’s Cabin reflects the spirit of early Talkeetna. It was built by “Rocky,” a well-known and beloved local gold prospector and trapper, and close friend of Jim Beaver of the House of Beaver. The cabin has remained in our family since my mother was a child, preserving its authentic connection to Talkeetna’s early days.
The cabin sleeps a small group with one queen bed, one twin bed, and one bathroom. The kitchenette includes a Keurig, microwave, small refrigerator, plus coffee and tea. Enjoy the covered front porch—perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks.
The bathroom features a shower with soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and linens provided.
Relax and enjoy the charm, history, and convenience of downtown Talkeetna.

This cabin was a fun, cute, cozy historic place to stay. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. It had exactly what we needed and we really enjoyed staying here. It is perfect for being able to enjoy Talkeetna conveniently. It was quiet but close to all the wonderful places to eat and enjoy in town.

We had a great stay. Everything was within walking distance, and the cabin was very comfortable. Shannon even met us at the train station and gave us a ride to the cabin. Truly a cozy cabin with a comfy bed, good blackout shades, hot shower, sink and microwave.

Great stay at the cabin! It is perfectly located in town & we were able to walk everywhere, but also tucked away off a quiet street for sleeping. Check in was super easy, but I did reach out for a question & get a response right away!

Cabin is spacious, clean, well stocked with heaters and bedding, and very close to the main street in Talkeetna. It is in a big grassy area with other cabins around it. The shower is a bit small but understandable for a cabin that size. Everything was great.

The cabin was very neat and clean and was decorated nicely to fit the area. The host was very nice and communicated very well with us. It is located within walking distance of the town of Talkeetna. The town is very unique and the people were very friendly. I would recommend this cabin rental.

This cabin was lovingly restored and is more spacious than it looked in the pictures. There is excellent artwork on the walls. It's just a couple streets over from the main tourist areas. We really enjoyed staying here!

Was a charming little cabin. Enjoyed learning of the history of Rocky’s Cabin. So glad we decided to make the overnight stop in Telkeetna on our way to Denali. Town was easy walking distance. What a cute town. Fantastic breakfast at the Homestead Kitchen “Little Swiss Benny” off the menu. Got some excellent spinach bread at the a food trailer. Great view of Denali from the River waterfront park. And, to top it all off, an unforgettable flight with K2 Avaition to Denali and landing on a glacier.

!We loved the cozy, rustic feel of the cabin and especially the history on the walls — learning about Jim and Rocky made it feel like we were living in history. Talkeetna is such a special place, and this cabin made it even better.Can’t wait to come back!Holly

Perfect place to stay. Gave a true Alaska feel and so close to the town activities. Highly recommend this place

Rocky’s Cabin was the best little cabin! Clean, easy check in and within walking distance to town and train depot. It was quiet and we loved sitting out on the porch and just relaxing. Can’t wait to to come back!! Excellent place!
